Today at the Columbia University he was even more ridicilous, and he showed that he really had no intellectual credibility by stating that "Iran does NOT have any homosexuality"!!!!!! I know it is hard to beleive but that is exactly what he stated! And this, in the middle of the intelligencia of a major respected university campus! Did he not think that he was insulting the intelligence of the students and professors in the audience and all the listeners around the world? One think is sure though: after such a statement anyone syill showing any respect for him is surely as vicious a denier of truth as himself.

I agree with you. Apparently, he thought he could get away with deflecting from the questions asked, and not get called on it. His double talk, denial, and refusal to answer the questions was so apparent, I doubt it really insulted anyone's intelligence. He simply confirmed what was already evident- he is indeed, a petty, little, insecure tyrant who is consumed by hate and ignorance. He was way out of his league, and made a complete ass out of himself. It was most enjoyable to watch.

It strikes me as odd that we as Americans should oppose giving the Iranian president the opportunity to speak before a group of students at a prestigious university such as Columbia. So long and he was forced to face candid, uncensored questions from the audience (which he was), nothing but good could come of his visit. If we, as Americans , are so sure that we are correct in our beliefs, then allowing someone who is the personification of what we believe to be evil a chance to speak should serve only to strengthen our convictions, if we are indeed correct in the first place. We should not fear to have our beliefs and convictions challenged, for such fear is merely evidence of a lack of faith in ourselves. The Iranian president is clearly wrong, and quite possibly a very evil and bad man. Allowing him the chance to address a group of Americans will only serve to make this more evident.

I was originally against allowing him to talk but the President of Columbia was brilliant. I think in the end it was great and appropriate. No kid gloves. No censorship to question or comments like 60 minutes and other TV shows.

but I agree it was good to have him speak and have people see first hand what a nutjob he is. Maybe then they'll have some more in depth understanding of the mentality that Israel deals with on a daily basis.
