Israelis for decades. What has it gotten you?
32. #20- Why Igor, you sound spiteful
Cameron ,   USA   (09.29.07)
Is this 'corrupt foreign power' the same one that brought decades of peace & prosperity to so many fat, indolent European bottoms?

34. DECEPTION for Expansionist Islam WICKED LIE of Occupation
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (09.29.07)
Not one inch of G-D given Jewish Holy Land to the enemy. Not now. Not ever! In 1948, Egypt invaded Gaza, ethnically cleansing all Jews and in 1948, Jordan invaded Judea, Samaria and east Jerusalem, ethnically cleansing all Jews. Muslim Jordan destroyed 58 synagogues in Jerusalem. When Israel won the Arab war of aggression in 1967, Jews returned to the areas of their ancestral homeland they had been ethnically cleansed from for 19 years. Anti-Israel propaganda DECEITFULLY calls Jews' legitimate return "occupation". Under international law, territories are considered "occupied" only when taken in an act of aggression which does not apply to Israel. Judea, Samaria and Gaza are not 'occupied territories' according to international law because they were not taken from any foreign sovereign. Jewish ownership of the land, homes and buildings stolen from the Jews in the 1948 Islamic invasion must be restored! Jews have had a continuous presence in physical and spiritual homeland Israel for 4000 years.
35. One MILLION JEWISH Refugees & Descendants MustBe Compensated
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (09.29.07)
JUSTICE and HUMAN RIGHTS for JEWS NOW! Around, and after 1948, one million Jews suffered violent RELIGIOUS Jew cleansing from Arab countries. Arab governments seized the land, farms, homes, hospitals, schools, businesses and bank accounts of the Jews. Most Jewish refugees fled to Israel where the religious terror war against Jews NEVER stops. Cruel Global war is waged to subjugate every nation under Islamic sharia law - it is unacceptable to Islamists for Jews to have self-rule in TINY Israel. The 1948 Jewish refugees and their descendants who make up about half of Israel's Jewish citizens MUST be compensated in land and finances! http://www.theforgottenrefugees.com/

39. If Arabs had defeated Israel in 1967
Ken Jurist   (09.29.07)
If Arabs had defeated Israel in 1967... would they be getting ready to hand back land that they`d won? Answer? NOOOOOO Kahane was the one leader who would never give up one inch of Jewish land. Sadly, Likud and Labor had a secret deal in 1988 to get rid of Kahane. Likud and Labor knew, Kahane was the only person who can stop these 2 groups from giving away Israel.
40. Northern Ireland and South Africa
Brenda ,   London, Canada   (09.29.07)
If I had a dollor for everyone who said Northern Ireland and South Africa would not be solved, I could retire. Peace came through talking with bad people. Mandella was one of them. Peace did not happen through listening to negative people.
41. Olmert & Hamas are a God send to Abbas
zionist forever   (09.30.07)
Olmert is an idiot willing to sell the entire country if he likes the idea .. Olmert doesnt have his eye on Israels short and long term interests he has his eye on the standard political apointed nobel peace prize. He knows he wont be getting his face on any Israeli bank notes in future because Israelis want to remeber him as one of the best primeminsters the country ever had so if he doesnt get his place in Israels history as somebody loved he wants his place in world history as a great man. He is also just looking for any excuse to give the Golan to Assad all he is waiting for is the ok from the US and then he will be shaking hands with Assad on the White House lawn and Israel will be without the Golan and all the benefits it gets out of keeping it all because Assad has said the magical P word suddenly nothing else matters. It doesnt matter if its in Israels advantage to have the Golan but no formal peace with Syria Olmert wants Assads siganture and let future Israeli leaders pick up the pieces of his stupidity. As for Hamas since their take over of Gaza everybody has been desperate to get into bed with Abbas to show how they support the palestians and want peace but hey just dont like Hamas because they are a terrorist organistion. Abbas and Fatah are the silent enemy they have a friendly face and instead of publicly calling for Israels destruction he makes nice polite speeches that the west and the left in Israel WANT to hear everybody loves what he has to say so much they forget about whats good for Israel because they think Abbas is moderate he wants to be our friend so we should give him what he wants now worry about the results later. Hamas at least you know what they are and what they stand for and nobody pretends to be anything different so you can feel justified telling them you dont accept your demands. Then we have idiots like Haim Ramon, Yossi Belin and the rest of those fools who say publicly what Israel must do which basicly gives the palestians the justifictaion for their demands before we get anywhere near a negotiating table. Israels worst enemies are the left wing fools so desperatre for people to hear them that they give away any tactical negotiating advantages that Israel might have had before talks begin. Now we have Condi Rice heading these talks in November between her, Olmert, Hamas and the left wing fools who cant keep their mouths shut in Israel these talks are going to turn out very badly for Israel it wont just be a talking shop its going to be alot of concesions from Israel overnight. These are very dangerous times for Israel and there is not a single Iranian missle in the air.
42. #20 Igor
Jake T ,   Alaska   (09.29.07)
I dont' think you understood my TB at all. The decisions made by this Israeli government are not valid. They are made by a corrupt government with no support from the Israeli people. If there were elections in Israel prior to making this agreement , the Left would be wiped out, and the new government would have to start from scratch. No more surrender of land. The problem is that the government system in Israel allows for this obscene situation where a PM with a fraction of support is out there representing the population and giving land away as if it belonged to him. Judea, Samaria, the Golan, Jerusalem, Gaza, it is all Jewish land.
43. Go back beyond 1967 borders.
Simply Jewish ,   Yesha Israel   (09.29.07)
Actually, it makes sense to go back further. There exists an original document that was copied first by the Xtians with many errors in their 'second edition or New testament', then by Muslims with even more typos in their version called the 'Koran'. The borders of the Jewish nation is clearly defined, and much archaeological proof exists to verify these scriptures. Accordingly, the UN and other quartet members will need to adjust their sights. Syria is right to demand a return to earlier borders, she should evacuate Damascus whilst the going is good. Meanwhile, the so called Palestinians should take a reality check and learn from their origins, which means they should disappear as there was never an indigenous country called Palestine in the first place.
44. Easy solution!
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (09.30.07)
We either choose peace or we choose war! Terror and peace do not go together. Occupation and peace do not go together either! Shame I think that non of us will live to see a day of peace.
45. 32
Igor ,   Munich, Germany   (09.30.07)
The United States at the time of the Marshall Plan is not the United States of today, we have to distinguish! We are not in an after world war situation. What the US does now is not justified!
46. Palis can't make peace with themselves!
Christy ,   Boston, US   (09.30.07)
NO DEAL! The palestinians can't make peace among themselves. How can they promise peace with Israel? Read Hamas & Fatah charters (google) and see if they've removed the goal of getting rid of Israel. If they have NOT, why bother to even talk to them?
47. "Peace Agreement" another term for SURRENDER

49. Not to worry
Chrisona ,   Chicago, IL   (09.30.07)
Calm down, everybody. I think we can trust the Palestinians to fumble the great chance that Ehud Olmert seems determined to give them. They are their own great nemesis.
50. #45 - The US has always been the same
Glenn ,   Canada   (09.30.07)
The US of the time of the Marshall Plan is the same US that refused refuge to persecuted Jews, the same US that dropped two atomic bombs on Japanese civilians, the same that carpet bombed Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, etc. There are great people among the American population but let's not be blind to the US government's determination to act in its own interests. And who wouldn't? Sure, the US helped rebuild Europe, but it did so because it didn't want it to fall into Soviets' hands. Among the countries of the world I'd rather have the US as the top dog than any of those other world powers like the Chinese, the Russians, or anyone else, but I don't have any illusions that when it comes to aiding Israel, the American government looks at its own interests first, and if they coincide with those of the Israelis, great. If they don't, Israel gets screwed, again and again. There are no higher values in American foreign policy decisions. Only self-interest. The sooner the Israelis and Diaspora Jews realize this, the better. Israel is ALONE.
51. From the Shooting Themselves in the Foot Dept.:
Chrisona ,   Chicago, IL   (09.30.07)
"An offer similar to the 92 percent of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip for a Palestinian state extended at Camp David in 2000 would not be enough, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told The Washington Post in an interview due to be published on Sunday." See what I mean?
52. Return to pre-67 borders
mark ,   westfield usa   (09.30.07)
The security wall that Israel is building encompasses roughly the 8% of the disputed territories that includes the majority of the Israelis. Israel cannot remove 250,000+ "settlers" from the "West Bank" and 180,000+ from east Jerusalem! There was nearly a civil war with the removal of less than 10,000! Unless an equal amount of land in pre-67 Israel is traded for the 8% that Israel will keep in the territories, and the Palestinians accept this, THERE CAN NEVER BE PEACE! It sounds as though the "peace conference" will be a non-starter, just like every other conference held before.
53. Olmert and Gang Would Negotiate Israel

Olmert and Gang Would Negotiate Israel and the Jewish People away Tel Aviv included if it would save their careers and give them riches. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com/
54. #16
(09.30.07)
i agree with you 100%. however, take note and know that the government can't release and give away jewish land to the palestinians without an israeli referendum. and we know whatthis referendum will be. this is when the israelis will speak. barak wanted to give east jerusalem to arafat in 2001, but he couldn't just give it away. he had no authority to do so without a referendum.
55. Why is Gaza a part of any deal with Mazen!
redmiike ,   tel aviv and london   (09.30.07)
Hamas represents Gaza and there is no historical connection between Gaza and the West Bank. They were never one country and the peoples come from different sources!
56. #55 Redmike
Glenn ,   Canada   (09.30.07)
I agree. But Abbas' logic is that he was and still is President of the PA. Therefore, he considers Gaza only temporarily under the control of Hamas. The whole thing is insane. There you have two groups, or more, that can't make peace with each other, but Israel is negotiating peace with one of them by promising to give away large swaths of Jewish territory!
57. Abbas and 67 borders
Dan ,   Efrat, Israel   (09.30.07)
If Mr. Abbas can prove to me that there is historical, archeological, and legal claims of the previous existence of an independent state called Palestine in Judea and Shomron I will support him. If not I propose a return to the 67 CE borders for the Jews.
58. #45- Igor, we judge our actions fully justified and.........
Cameron ,   USA   (10.01.07)
your very old European tradition of letting the Americans shoulder the burden of blood & treasure and then swooping in to profit off our efforts does nothing but breed contempt. Your habit of trying to assume some sort of moral high-ground combined with self-serving apathy does not reflect well upon you & your fellow Europeans.
