Palestinian student denied entry to Israel for University program     Associated Press
1. the palestians are not Israeli citizens they have no rights
PALESTIAN STUDENTS not being Israeli citizens have no rights to do anythning in Israel thats all goodwill the state is under no obligation to give him an entry permit. There is no obligation to provide Gaza with electricity or issue work permits allowing the palestians to enter Israel and get jobs thats all goodwill not somethiing the palestians are entitled to. Just because the palestians feel their are entitled to these things doesnt mean that they have the legal entitlement. Either allowing or refusing permision for this palestian to enter Israel is at the discresion of the state not palestian feelings.

2. here we go
as I mentioned in other posts, here we have a perfect example of the racist policy Israel is conducting, do not wonder that the hatred only rises...the same actually applies to Arab countries in regard to Jews!
Igor ,   Munich, Germany   (10.08.07)
3. MBA in entire world
Dear Saed Hasan. There are a lot of brilliant MBA programs in Europe, USA, Malaysia etc. I don't think that you need to study in Zionist entity. Just ... off out of there. And all will be happy. Both we and you.
Yan ,   Petach-Tikva, Israel   (10.08.07)
4. Why Israel
This is mind boggling why those who want to kill us want to benefit from education system... Try to get your MBA in Iran or any other Arab\Muslim country and leave us alone!!!

of course, you never know what they'll make up next.

7. Benefits in terms of education & wealth
Remember that it was TA University that offered him the scholarship-the offer came from our side. Aside from this, this person is already quite educated with a degree. I am in favor of giving this person the benefit of going to study, as he can not only benefit Israel, but the region. He is already a CEO of his own company working during the day, and it can only do Israel good in terms of goodwill and maybe possibly having a well off resident contributing his wealth and expertise to the nation. It's not a matter of nationality, but of education here.

8. Bar Israeli Students from US Universities
It seems only fair that if Israel is going to bar Palestinians from attending its universities and denies their travel abroad, that the same rules should be applied to Israeli students attempting to go to school outside of Israel. And immediate boycott of Israeli Universities and cancellation of visas to allow Israelis to study abroad and revocation of visa of those already studying abroad should be implemented immediately until the Israelis allow Palestinians to travel abroad for education and allow them to school in Israel if they qualify. Anything short would be the World's support for Israeli Apartheid and collective punishment of the Palestinian people.

9. #2 Can a Jew study in a WEST BANK UNI?
andy ,   orlando,fl   (10.09.07)
10. Let him study!!!
It's one thing to screen every visa applicant intensively and not allow those who don't "need" to enter to do so. It's another thing to deny this guy the right to an education. Maybe he doesn't want to leave the continent to pursue an education. If he can gain entry into this prestigious program and is not a substantial security threat (other than just being palestinian - which is not enough!) he should be allowed to enter Israel.

11. #2 Here We Go? No We Don't!
While I have no problem with this individual being admitted to an Israeli university, at Israel's discretion, Israel is under no obligation to admit, educate, feed or support Palestinians - period. On the one hand they refuse to recognize Israel and call for its destruction and on the other they want an Israeli education. They can't have it both ways.
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (10.09.07)
12. # 6 Palestinians are the people of Palestine, u ignorant.
Stealing something and trying to hide it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. The Nazi leadership of Germany used to say that there is nothing like "Jewish people", but it didn't help them much despite all the killings and horrific massacres they commited against Jews. And the Jews still Jews and nobody can claim that they don't exisit or don't have the right to, except idiots like you. Try to learn something from your own history, and avoid imitating Hitler.
Proud Jew ,   NY, USA   (10.09.07)
13. If Palestinians do not recognise Israel
why should they recognize Israel's MBA cellular ph. technology, huh? Isn't it also a device to activate roadside bombs? If they have the brains, they should be in politics and make peace with Israel

14. Palestinian student denied entry to Israel for University pr
I am sure Saed Hasan is an honorable man and wants to advance his knowledge but can you say the same about the Hamas or the other terror groups even Abas own police force? All it will take is to hold Hasans family hostage before he agrees to carry a terror mission in Israel, and what a better place that at University of Tel Aviv. Sorry not until the Palestinians denounce terror people like Saed Hasan will suffer the consequences.

18. Is the military crazy?
Or do they really want the neighbors to hate us, so their buddies in the right wing can keep on making settlements? This guy is almost certainly not a terrorist. If he was on a watch list, then OK - but simply being Palestinian doesn't convict him a priori. He's good enough for the school, which is known to be selective. Let the man in! If not, we'll just have another enemy - like we need even more.

19. Boycott Israel universities
This is to be expected. This is the reason we initiated the boycott. We will continue our struggle.
Sue Blackwall ,   London, UK   (10.09.07)
20. why can't he take it in Iran, Saudi Arabia
or those other wonderful countries that boycott Israel. For that matter, go to england.

22. Refusal is mild....
...compared to the two soldiers who mistakenly drove into Ramallah and got flung from the 2nd floor off the window about 7 years ago. Let's not forget who these people are, fundamentally. By refusing him entry we are actually very sweet and gentle to him. But if they change their attitude, I don't see any problem in entering Israel.
SD ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (10.09.07)
23. Igor's post
Ramallah's citizens are not citizens of Israel, and as foreigners they are subject to Israeli visa requirements. So just lilke a citizen of Russia may not be admitted to the US to study or work, so this guys does not have to be admitted to Israel. I am not sure why this makes the news. BTW, Igor, your post has a somewhat antisemitic aftertaste, albeit thinly veiled by the reference to the Arab countries.
Mike ,   Chicago/Tel Aviv   (10.09.07)
24. Sharia Socialist
Sue Blackwell initiated a failed attempt at boycotting Israeli Universities because she hates Jews. Nothing more and nothing less but hides behind a cloak of anti Israel . Thats the agenda of the British Shariah Socialists (including the Jewish ones too).
Manni ,   Leeds   (10.09.07)
25. LET HIM IN
As someone said, if he's not on a watch list, there should be no reason not to let him in. After all, there are many Arabs living here in Israel who go to university. Maybe he wants a way to get out of Gaza. There are many Gazans who want Israel back in again. Don't generalize.

27. if student is "clean," he should be allowed to enroll, but..
however, Israel should conduct a thorough background check, obtain and verify the names and addresses of all his relatives, and monitor him. if he is a supporter, in any way, of the terrorists, he should, of course, be denied access.
dante ,   uk   (10.09.07)
28. Sue Blackwall is partially right
Yes, she is: - This refusal is to be expected -- Israel is a sovereign country and as such has jurisdiction over who gets into and out of the country - They will indeed continue their struggle -- because they hate us. And that is the reason fore the boycott. Sue, your posts are neither novel nor informative; each one is like the rest of them. Don't bore us.
Mike ,   Chicago/Tel Aviv   (10.09.07)
29. Dear Sue Blackwell
Why dont you take this ¨poor¨ victim of israeli attrocities and take it with you to Brittish Universities to study? Your Universities are very open to muslim agenda, so i guess one more wont mind. Did you ever asked yourself if an israeli can study in a Arab university? not a jewish person, but an israeli jewish person So cut the crap, an admit you are in the payroll of arab terrorists like that clown Galloway.
Avner ,   Jerusalem   (10.09.07)
30. 12 & 23
12 I totally agree with you, that is my opinion which is alway subject to critisism from hardcore zionists. I am also a Jew and think the same way! but by saying something of this kind you´re automatically regarded as an antisemite and someone who wants the destruction of the state of Israel, although I´ve never written such stuff in my posts. 23 He was approved at the university so why not letting him in? What is the reason? It´s an engineer who wants to improve his knowledge and get a higher degree and actually because of such news people start hating Israel. It´s not only the case with Palestinians, what about El Al, who treats Arab Israelis like terrorists and conducts additional, security checks on them? dude you call this democracy? or for example a friend of mine, a girl from Jordan who is a German citizen, wasn´t allowed entry into Israel "for no reasons" I tell you the reason: she looks Arabian. And that is racism my friend! Israel should stop calling itself a democracy, in a democracy all citizens and residents of the country are treated equally. AND ONCE AND FOR ALL: no, I am no an antisemite and I don´t hate Israel and I don´t want the destruction of the state. My arguments are logical and true, any person with a sane mind can conclude my opinion. but here we are dealing with zionists who only see one side of the coin. Yeah, Jews are not allowed to study in Ramallah or other Arab countries, but there´s a slight difference: most of the Arab countries don´t call themselves democracies. In those countries Islam is the State Religion and Muslims, especially its own citizens are worth more than anybody else, Saudi Arabia is e brilliant example. Stop calling yourself democratic and free, and nobody will judge Israel what it does. Israel should proclaim itself as a theocratic state with Judaism as State Religion and that probably will solve all your problems and justify all that racism.
