63. Poll on dividing Jerusalem

I'm afraid about Israel ceding anymore territory than she already has done in the past. It hasn't helped before in peace efforts. Look at the situation now after Israel has ceded land--Gaza is a hotbed for violence. I've heard that Iran wants to wipe Israel off the map, and Syria has lined her borders with weapons. I don't believe dividing up Jerusalem will help the situation at all. To be honest, it will make things worse. It will be like putting the problems in Gaza further into Israel. It will turn Israel inside out. Any violence that stems from Gaza will start up in Jerusalem, and it will all happen in the city itself. There will be a larger number of people killed, and the damage done to buildings, homes, etc. will be huge. I mean--this kind of action to bring about peace has not worked in the past. With the statement of Iran's president and the weapons on the Syrian border--it doesn't really seem like they want peace. Now I'm not saying that all Arab citizens want war, so please don't interpret my comments as being a catch-all for everybody in Iran, Syria, and other surrounding countries. That being said--how else can anyone think about an outcome from this latest proposal on Israel ceding land? It's not like Israel is 2 or 3 times the size of the surrounding countries, so it really isn't fair for her to cede more land. Doesn't Israel have any rights in the peace process? What if the proposal was turned around? How many countries does Israel have surrounding her that side with her?
