1. what was it all for if they are giving up Gaza now
zionist forever   (10.11.07)
If this was tempory then what was the point of it all in the first place other than to throw a couple of Fatah employees off rooftops. Beating up of civilians who support Fatah. Causing Gaza cilians in general to suffer so what was it all about other then a tempory Hamas powertrip. If this was about power then why give it up now you have it? If it was about problems with Fatah then why are you willing to make up now? Now all this talk about it being tempory what was achived it seems to be another one of those Hamas wild ideas to create alot more suffering and an excuse to kill some other palestians.... allmost as illogical as some of the things the Iranian monkey does.
2. So they can ruin the Peace Process
Semsem ,   New York, USA   (10.11.07)
They are doing this so that they can ruin the Peace Process and cause chaos. After the crimes they committed against Fatah can they get together again?
3. just in time for annapolis!
yosef ,   newyork   (10.11.07)
what do you expect! hamas doesnt need to rule gaza anymore they have succeded in builiding their 40,000 strong terrorist army. they have stockpiled tens of thousands of rockets and katushas and are ready for war. Israel must wake up, their generous offers next month will only be met with a massive war from gaza, hezbollah, and syria. ONLY HASHEM CAN SAVE US, the IDF is useless without hashem. jewish people wake up, stop what you are doing now and chant tehilim and declare shema yisrael...
4. United Against Israel
Marcel ,   Florida   (10.11.07)
There is no such thing as a moderate Palestinian faction. One is corruppt ,the other is religious. Both are determined Islamists determined to bring lost honor back to the Arab world by nothing less than exterminating the 'infidel' Jews from land once under Islamic rule. What delusional Israel refuses to believe is that this agenda of the Palestinian Arabs will never change. IT IS UNFORGIVEABLE OF ISRAEL'S LEADERS TO APPEASED SUCH A DETERMINED ENEMY AS THIS WHEN THEY HAVE NEVER SHOWN ANY DESIRE FOR PEACE.
5. its a ploy to get more for nothing
jack bauer ,   praying4u   (10.11.07)
hamas will say that, then fatah gets Judea/Samaria then hamas uses its stockpiles and terrorists to takeJudea/Samaria as well Then the real war can begin....and with Israel weakened strategically, many more jews will die then would be otherwise. Even a blind person can see that!
6. Hmm, finding it a bit tough to actually govern..............
Cameron ,   USA   (10.11.07)
people instead of offing them, Haniyeh? May the IDF or Fatah soon grab you by your malevolent neck.
7. #1 What it was all for.
Khalid ,   Gaza City   (10.11.07)
It was to put a stop to the daily gunbattles on almost every street. It was to stop the blowing up of every internet cafe and music shop, which has stopped since Hamas' victory. It was to put people like Mohamad Dahlan, who had done nothing but steal the funds of the people to build homes and buy himself suits, in their place. It was to instill the law and security that a society needs that was non-existent when Fatah admittedly was trying to sabotage Hamas after their electoral victory. But, since the whole world sides with Fatah despite all this, the civilians in Gaza are suffering from external pressures, which make up for the internal pressures we suffered when Fatah was here. So Hamas is trying to change their gameplan.
8. whats happening
israeli   (10.11.07)
whats happening is that hamas is realising they are losing power not only are they losing power, they are losing the support of the palestinian people as well as any support they may have within the international community.. Any steps forward taken during annapolis will only weaken hamas further and they know this.. What they are trying to do is bind themselves to fatah, so that they may gain some sense of unity and possibly gain some internal/external support.. Israel needs to make it clear to fatah that any declarations made with fatah will damage any diplomatic efforts that have been recently achieved..
9. Hamas's lonely n bored; they need someone to fight n kill
Obama ,   Washington DC   (10.11.07)
10. Khalid - if all this is a "gameplan"
Isragirl   (10.11.07)
than what is the goal of this game? I would like to get your answer, this is not a rhetorical question.
11. THIS GIVES CREDENCE...........................
AVROHOM BILGREI ,   ZION   (10.11.07)
TO THE SOPHISTRY OF THE FATAH-HAMAS RIFT ! POLITICALLY EXPEDIANT GIVEN THE UP COMMING SUMMIT & CLARIFIES THE "MISTAKE " FATAH MADE BY PAYING HAMAS RECENTLY (TO ISRAELIS ; +30 DAYS,IT'S ANCIENT HISTORY !)

I didn't say it was my gameplan, I sad it was Hamas' gameplan. The goal at first was simple, to put an end to the chaos in Gaza (which I described in my previous post). I suppose it had gotten to the point where each side believed they had to resort to all out war to defeat the other, after so many peace treaties were signed and violated, and Hamas won. I personally don't believe they didn't plan well for the future, they didn't know that by putting an end to the chaos in such a way would mean sacrificing border closures, no money, it is literally an open-air prison in the Gaza strip, nobody can leave nobody can enter when they want. Because of this Hamas has had to change their gameplan, although I don't believe they will do so just yet, and the goal of the new plan? I don't even think Hamas knows that right now...
