Putin: Russia working on new nuclear weapons    Dudi Cohen
1. Chechnya
When Putin says dialog is better he is offcourse referring to the dialog they are having with Chechnya. They are making a parking lot out of whole cities and nobody really cares.
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (10.18.07)
2. TALK OR NUKE... WHICH DO YOU WANT...
godfather putin is making an offer noone can refuse. so much for russian friendship... it's back to the cold war.
stude ham   (10.18.07)
3. cold war ?
What Putin is saying is : Bush ,if you attack Iran we will respond against you. We will no longer sit back and do nothing. I wonder if we in the west understand this seriousness of this or do we still assue we are so high and mighty and invincible ? Oh no it's not back to the 'cold war'. This one promises to be very hot indeed. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 1Thess 5:3 Israel will once again learn to seek their God and stop trusting in delusional men for peace and security ala Road Map.
Marcel ,   Florida   (10.18.07)
4. How many ways to destroy the world
Home many more types of bombs do you need to destroy the world. Don't you think one type of Hydrogen Bomb or warhead is enough? http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com/

5. Gota love when this. Putin lead by example not empty words
Mike ,   Israel   (10.18.07)
6. Putin is distracting
Russia today has enormous problems. There has been no real growth, no sustainable economical development. Russia today lives purely from the exploitation of it's natural ressources. Of course most Russians noticed the huge gap between the real situation - which is in some places quite desolate - the government's empty words of grandeur. It is very sad to see that Putin who came into office with the promise to broom out the mess is now adding to it. His inability to tackle Russia's real problems will lead inevitable to internal instability and uprising. What is he going to to then? Throw nukes at the frustrated people who had enough of his deceptive politics?
David Wolski ,   zichron yaacov   (10.18.07)
7. Putin is taking Russia back in time.
This is sad considering the hardships the Russian people have had to live through already. I feel for the Russian people.
Yonatan ,   USA   (10.18.07)
8. congratulations! russia is the new venezuela
adios amigos   (10.18.07)
9. If Russia so big, why is it that...
states within that country want to leave? I'm thinking of S. Osetia, Ingushetsia, and Abkhazia. It's already in a state where there are wide disparities between Moscow/St. Petersburg and the rest of the country. If such disparities are not dealt with, the country can expect to even further fall apart. Who wants to be part of a country falling apart?
Yakov ,   USA   (10.18.07)
10. Correction-Abkhazia
Abkhazia is part of Georgia and is seeking to secede from it. My mistake. While it has been trying to do this, I do hear that Russia has aided it. But in realty, it wants to be no more a part of Russia than a part of Georgia. If it does get independent, it will be apart from both.
Yakov ,   USA   (10.18.07)
11. Gog u Magog
Has anyone kept up on latest treaty with Caspian sea countries? Iran, Russia etc.
Jack ,   USA   (10.18.07)
12. This time it's for real...
Although censorship and a return to old Soviet ways is no doubt Putin's goal, Russia is no longer the hermetically sealed society it once was which hoodwinked the world into believing that it could wage war when in fact it was so dirt poor, the Soviets would never have dared to risk it. This time, we know and they know we know that they have sufficient money on the strength of their natural resources to stand by their threats and their posturing. We have returned to the Cold War - and this time, it's for real.
Lior ,   London   (10.18.07)
13. Putin is taking Russia EXACTLY where it needs to be in for
end time prophecy to ,   be fullfilled jan/us   (10.18.07)
14. Putin already answered what Olmert
went all the way to Russia to ask. And I can tell you, his answers are really COLD. Oh My Gog, this is going to happen soon.
Obama ,   Washington DC   (10.18.07)
15. #10: Abkhazia
Guess where they heading to having Russian passports for 90% of the people. I'd hazard - Estonia? Latvia? I missed it first but Southern Osetia is also part of Georgia. Today is. I thought first S. stands for Severnaya - Northern Osetia which is happily a part of Russian Federation and does not object to rejoin with southern brothers. Most of illegal vodka had been produced there lately.
Damir ,   Russia   (10.18.07)
16. We NEED new nuclear weapons
As we do not renounce them yet, we need to replace old nukes with new, more economic ones. With longer shelf life too. We won't spend as much money as Soviet Union did. Similar goals were declared for american F-35 programme.
Damir ,   Russia   (10.18.07)
17. Great man and Great Leader
He got what it takes to lead a country like Russia, he is smart and knows how to defend its´ country´s interest! Just look at the US sponsored puppets in Ukraine, who are bringing the country in chaos & poverty. Putin managed to get control of the whole country, calmed down the Chechnya conflict, restructured & improved the totally devastated army and during his tenure the GDP has risen by 5000%. Russia has become more attractive to international investors (Honda, VW, Suzuki, Renault etc.). The pensions of retired people have risen, althoug a lof needs to be done in Russia. The widespread corruption is still one of the toughest challenges! I´m watching Putin´s speeches constantly and from what I´ve heard so far I can only conclude that he´s a smart man who knows how to do his job in cotrast to Mr. Bush, who can´t even distinguish between Austria and Australia and spell the word "nuclear" correctly, let alone spelling the names of world leaders at the recent UN summit.
Igor ,   Munich, Germany   (10.18.07)
18. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED in starting
a new cold war / arms race!! ONE HECK OF A JOB georgie! maybe this time there will be no winner just one desolate, pile of ash, rubble & dead bodies. This will justify another deployment of anti-missile missiles in europe.
George W Bush ,   usa   (10.18.07)
19. Russia will give the nukes to Iran, that way they can
control Iran. ,   jan/usa   (10.18.07)
20. #5: how stupid can you be? putin supports perian nukes
for putin, anything that causes consternation in washington is great. he is absolutely indifferent, if not oblivious, to the fact that a likely casualty of nuclear prolifieration will be russia. all this malignant fool wants is to hurt the USA. so, to #5, who cares if putin is a "leader" if the leadership will make a nuclear catastrophe more probable?
dante ,   uk   (10.18.07)
21. On weak economics
Lately I had shopped for wash-machine. When they told me at shop I'm not choosing between Italian, German and Korean ones but rather between 3 different assembling plants in russian cities I had to do major readjusting of my notion of world economics. Current and future economic growth in Russia will be aimed for its vast internal market so do not expect soon to see Russian products all over the world. All the major automotive brands today build plants to provide for internal market. This IS current economic growth. I understand it is not very visible from outside but it is nevertheless. By the way I perceive what the West is currently sell to us is mainly Labels and Brands and Franchises. I wonder is it really worth our oil and gas?
Damir ,   Russia   (10.18.07)
22. Putin with nukes
World War 3 here it comes, watch Putin will play a major roll in these last days. Mark my words, "Last days"
