France bestows Legion of Honor Award upon head of Yad Vashem    Dana Zimmerman
1. somewhat dismayed
While I support this move by Sarkozy, I am somewhat dismayed regarding some of his other, rather covert activities for French Jewry and Israel, which some would label as bordering dual loyalty. Sarkozy has my support, provided that he acts like as a true French citizen, loyal first and foremost to the French state. To give an example, I voted for him to clean up the streets, not to steer France into a war with Iran for the sake of external parties. A pragmatic citizen.

2. Are you french or Belgian?
Adam   (10.25.07)
3. SARKOZY ROCKS!
JEW GIRL   (10.25.07)
4. TO MR. PRAGMATIQUE:
LIKE IT OR NOT, FOR ONCE, FRANCE FINALLY HAS SOMEONE RUNNING THE COUNTRY WHO DOESN'T HAVE HIS/HER HEAD UP THEIR, EH, ELYSEE'. IF HIS POLICIES UP TO THIS POINT ARE DISTURBING TO YOU, I AM SURE A DOCTOR WOULD DIAGNOSE YOU TYPICALLY FRENCH. JUST TAKE TWO ASPIRINS AND GET OVER IT!
JEW GIRL   (10.25.07)
5. Adam , you can be French and live in Antwerp
Charles ,   petach tikva   (10.25.07)
6. Hurray for President Nicholas Sarcozy !
France has a president who seems to love France and wants to do what's best for her, PLUS Pres. Sarcozy is reaching out to support others. France has seemed too aloof these past years. Pres. Sarcozy is starting to put an end to France's aloofness. It's a great award to be bestowed on someone who has done great work! Especially with Islamism getting a grip on France, giving this award takes a bit of courage of the president's part.
Christy ,   Boston, US   (10.26.07)

What you see Sarcozy doing is bringing the blessings of HaShem to France. For this, you should be grateful. Sarcozy shows signs of having a righteous heart.
Ephraim ,   Diaspora   (10.26.07)
8. Mr. Sarkozy's eyes have a blank quality of sadness since his
wife Cecilia decided to leave him. Sonia Peres should contack Cecilia Sarkozy and tell her how to live in the shadows as a President's wife since she does it so well without leaving her husband President Shimon Peres.

Don't look for hashem everywhere . Were was he , if he exists [ not for me ] , during the Shoa ?
charles ,   petach tikva   (10.27.07)
10. Charles, are other people
allowed to think what they want, or only what you believe? Do you think that by throwing this meaningless, overused sentence you can change a person's entire perception of the world? More likely, you will make him believe you are an angry lonely pest.
leftie ,   haifa   (10.28.07)
11. anonymous leftie
Where did i say that someone may not think what he wants ? I only said that for me looking for hashem everywhere is wrong . Am i allowed to think this , pest champion ? Are you ashamed of your writing ?
charles ,   petach tikva   (10.28.07)
12. # 10 It's not true and unfair to my friend Charles !
Charles is not a pest (I have the honour to be his friend), lonely he is not, and not angry, rather exasperated by people like you. The silence of God during the Holocaust has driven many Jews to the rejection of God. I had an American friend, Arden Lampel --alas dead now, he sincerely believed in God and was one of the first to enter the camp of Ausschwitz. He told me he lost his faith at the very moment he SAW. My dear friend Charles, all the best to you. Kind regards to your family.
Abel Shoni ,   France   (10.28.07)
13. Cher Ami
There are people who anonymously try to give lessons , don't warry about them , they are not worth it . Yes , there are many people who lost faith after the Shoa . Other's who were saved , began to believe that a God protected them . Thank you very much for your friendship , why should people with different beliefs not be friends ? All the best to you , take care of yourself .

14. Charles and Shoni: two peas in an acid pod.
(10.31.07)
15. # 14 You and your meanness are as like as
two peas in an acid head !!! Mon cher Charles, de tels hurluberlus ne méritent même pas de se cacher dans une gousse d'ail !
Abel Shoni ,   France   (11.01.07)
16. Cher Ami
Unworthy to react to this anonymous tb by a coward . I think i know who she is .
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.01.07)
17. Yes, dear Charles, probably a covetous, she-coward !
Stendhal wrote : « Les femmes fières dissimulent leur jalousie par orgueil ». Take good care of yourself. Kind regards to your family.
Abel Shoni ,   France   (11.01.07)
18. Cher Ami
The same anonymous wrote also a tb in the direction of two persons , me included of course . She must certainly have many nighmares with me as subject , Great . Another guy told me that i'm hate filled towards Christians ! what a stupid guy . Ce que votre pere a fait pour certains , d'autres l'ont fait pour moi . All the best to you , hope your health is better .
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.01.07)
19. Dear Charles, some (anonymous) should meditate on this :
"Small minds discuss people. Average minds discuss events. Great minds discuss ideas." (Unknown). Mon père avait la gentillesse chevillée au corps et ne pouvait qu'aider. Je suis heureux que d'autres aient pu vous venir en aide. Au milieu de la noirceur, des générosités immenses se sont déployées et ont donné de merveilleux fruits. I feel a bit better, thank you, and I wish all the best to you and your family. Take care of yourself ! Shalom Shabbat

20. Cher Ami
Yes , there were lights in the darkness . Those lights have to shine in the future , as an example for the world . Some of those lights were , sad to say , brutally turned off by the forces of the darkness , but they , and all the other lights will always be remembered by right people . Fine to hear you feel a bit better . Have a fine week end
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.02.07)
21. Abel Shoni: "Small minds (Charles) discuss people...
average minds (Abel Shoni) discuss events." I don't see any great minds thoughts coming out of Charles, but now and then, from Abel.
(11.03.07)
22. Translation of French in my message # 19
"My father was downright kind and could only be helping. I am pleased that others have been able to help you. In the midst of darkness, immense generosity was deployed and has given wonderful fruit."
Abel Shoni ,   France   (11.03.07)
23. # 21 , anonymous , lowest level
not even small mind , no mind at all . This is of course "discussing persons" , but you don't deserve more .
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.03.07)
24. # 21 What I quoted should have been seen
from an ethical perspective. "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." As restricted to persons, humility is understood also in the sense of afflictions or miseries, which may be inflicted by external agents, as when a man humiliates another by causing him pain or suffering. It is in this sense that others may bring about humiliations and subject us to them. Humility in a higher and ethical sense is that by which a man has a modest estimate of his own worth, and submits himself to others. According to this meaning no man can humiliate another, but only himself. Please give it another thought.
