17. Not a War Crime
J K ,   NYC, USA   (10.25.07)
Its part of an economic blockade on the Gaza Strip. Israel doesnt occupy one sq centimeter of Gaza anymore and there is no such thing as a 'occupation by remote'. Only BS Fakestinian sloganeering so everyone will take pity on the poor SOBs who want Israel gone, fire rockets daily and expect there to be no consequences for their actions. A loss of power is not a war crime. It may be inconvenient, but there is no crime. Maybe they can convince Egypt to build power lines, but it's really no longer Israel's responsibility as long as the govt is paying or will pay the bills. Maybe the right question is, "Is firing rockets really accomplishing anything?"
18. According to the spokesman,
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (10.25.07)
"The decision contradicts every human rights treaty in the world and may bring about an ecological and health disaster which will turn into a comprehensive humanitarian disaster." So what is his point? It's been waaaaaay too long coming.
19. Too Bad - So Sad
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (10.25.07)
Get over it Hamas! The price for electricity just went up. It's called PEACE and until you get over your ignorant Islamic fundamentalist pipe dreams, the price will continue to increase.
20. And the Qassams fired at civilians are "humanitarian"
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (10.25.07)
And don't give me this "collective punishment" BS. The Gazans have elected Hamas with a very significant majority. Statistically, there is a Hamas terrorist in every family so yes, all Gazans are accountable for each rocket, mortar or bullet fired into civilian areas within the Israeli territory. If the Europeans love them so much they should build them a power plant instead of handing out money for terror. Gazans should pay the price of terror. They have a terrorist organization as an elected government, and it should take care of THEIR needs, not only perpetrating Crimes against Humanity and Genocide. We owe them nothing anymore.
21. cry me a river, Gaza!
israeli ,   israel   (10.25.07)
Have your hanky ready, world!
22. Don't worry Terrorist Hamaa
Marcel ,   Florida   (10.25.07)
The wimps who rule Israel will get a phone call from the one in Washington who supports the Islamic terrorists out to destroy Israel and Olmert,Livni, and Barak will immediately fold and give you all the power you want for free. Hamas ,you are protected by President Bush who restrains Israel from defeating you,all for the cause of his Palestinian state. Faithless Jewish cowards who rule Israel and bow to foreign interests are a curse upon the land and people of Israel
23. Israel does not owe the Palestians anything
Joe ,   Los Angeles, USA   (10.25.07)
The Palestinians want to destroy Israel and they expect Israel to supply them with water, electricity and phone services!?! They can't have it both ways. Let their fellow Arabs supply them with these services. Besides when was the last time the Palestinians paid their bills to Israel? They are a bunch of freeloading crybabies.
24. suddenly palestinains are authorities on int'l law
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (10.25.07)
oops, now they're not. now they are again. maybe they should realize that international law applies to them, too. i doubt it.
25. Let Egypt help them!!!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (10.25.07)
How did Israel get stuck with the world's biggest parasites? How come they voted for Hamas,a group who calls for the destrcution of Israel, but then expect Israel to give them power, food, medicine??? Ass-Backwards!!!
26. F Them!!!! Not one more megawatt.....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (10.25.07)
until they stop firing at us. Kol HaKavod Barak!!!! Let them sit in the dark.
27. #11 - Abu Zaid, your rhetoric cuts both ways...
Joe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (10.25.07)
Abu Zaid, let's not forget who voted Hamas into power AFTER the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza- these same "poor civilians" you speak of. If "collective punishment" were ever warranted in this conflict, it would certainly be warranted against Gaza right now. Just so you know, the definition of terrorism is both specifically targeting and carrying out attacks against non-combatants in a conflict. Israel doesn't look for areas in Palestinian towns on Google Earth with lots of civilians with the sole purpose of raining rockets down upon them. Hamas and Hezbollah do. Israel doesn't build military installations in areas with high numbers of civilians to maximize civilian fatalities during armed conflict. Hamas and Hezbollah do. Israel, by the definition of terrorism, does not engage in terrorism. Hamas and Hezbollah (heck, even Fatah!) do. Going back to the principle of collective punishment, however, why should Israel refrain from collective punishment against Gaza when Gaza engages in collective punishment against Israel? Your rhetoric cuts both ways, Abu Zaid...
28. The Wolves should learn
Brod ,   USA   (10.25.07)
It is high time the wolves learn their lesson. This should have been done a long tiime ago.
29. Why do Fals shoot at Ashkelon Power Station??
Alan ,   SA   (10.25.07)
What was that Fal Operation with the Fals in that Container in Ashkelon a few years ago!
30. Supplying the enemy with electricity, fuel,
jason white ,   afula,israel   (10.25.07)
water food, medical supplies, ect. is normal? Not to mention arms and money. By supplying gaza with anything is an act of treason by the government of Israel against the state of Israel. The government is aiding terrorists to kill Israelis. That is the war crime. gaza should be cut off totally. If the kassams continue, then they should be bombed in submission.
