2. Hey, Mexico Does Have Oil Reserves, So Invade Away USA
Mr. Knowitall ,   Frostbite Falls, MN   (11.02.07)
There is no such thing as Al-Queda, it is merely a CIA/Mossad front to justify wars to control Arab oil fields, so it seems only logical that the idiots running the US today would try to invade them as well. I wonder how many Americans would have believed in 2001 that six years after September 11th that the US border would be no more secure than it was in 2001, that US troops would be bogged down in a civil war in a country not involved in September 11th and they would also be stuck protecting the record opium crops in Afghanistan on behalf of the CIA and drug lords? With a warmongering moron in the White House who thinks he's playing with his GI Joes instead of real human lives, I see no reason that the US will not attack and invade Mexico today as GW's 8 year recess is nearly over and their is oil money to be made.
3. Come on in, the border is wide open.
David Powell ,   Everett, Wa. USA   (11.02.07)
I am suprised there are not waves of Iranan, Hizbullah and Hamas are not streaming across the border from Mexico or Canada. They can get drivers licenses, welfare, free social security and free medical care. What a Deal, Come ,make bombs and we'll have a blast.
4. Hizbollah is well established in S. America
josef cohen ,   herzliya   (11.02.07)
Hizbollah is well established in S. America. This is in the 3 borders area where Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay meet. Also having established themselves there is Hamas and Al Quaida. There they have military training camps and raise money to finance operations thru smuggling, counterfeiting, money laundering, gun running and drugs etc. It is not that hard to imagine that when circumstances dictate they can send highly trained teams relatively undetected into Mexico to pursue cross border assaults (terrorist acts) in the US. For consideration

9. #2 Mr. Knowitall: Mexico trades oil for dollars, so it is
Rivkah   (11.02.07)
not the problem Iraq and now Iran are. You see, when the dollar went off the gold then later the silver standard and was no longer backed by precious metals that dollars could be cashed in for, the value of the dollar became tied to the price of oil. OPEC agreed to trade oil in dollars to keep the American economy afloat as the oil exchange currency. Then Iraq broke the agreement or treaty and started selling oil for euros. To protect the American economy from collapsing, that had to be stopped. Now Iran wants yen from the Japenese for oil and yuan from the Chinese, instead of dollars. If that is not stopped, the dollar will collapse according to economists. Even Alan Greenspan commented last week in London that the war in Iraq was about oil. Do YOU want a freefall of the value of the dollar that is not backed up with precious metals or oil? When ancient Rome stopped using money made from precious metals, it was within a generation or two of collapse. President Nixon in the early 1970's took America off the silver standard. He was rather shocked when he went to Fort Knox to see the gold and found it was gone. So he tied the dollar to the price of oil which worked until the OPEC nations started rebelling.

Adam ,   Australia   (11.02.07)
DO you guys believe Bush is looking for Binladen? I bet you Binladen is enjoying his CIA job in a 5 star hotel in New York. If you know that every US child watches 250,000 shooting during his life span in movies. He becomes a violent boy. US and Israel need an enemy to fight, Opps the USSR fell off, Humm we need to create new enemy to fight. - In 50's fight Palestinians - in 60's fight Nasser of Egypt - In 70's fight Arafat - In 80's fight Lebanese - In 90's fight Saddam - in 00 let's create Bin Laden (from best American friends the Saudis) - In 07 Let us attack Iran Humm, we already brought democracy and beautiful life to Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine. We will do the same to Sudan, Iran, Morroc and Algeria.... We will teach all those Arabs how to live wonderful life like Iraqis. No wonder why Muslems are getting anti Israel and US.
12. This Rumor Has Been Floating Around For A While
emanon ,   USA   (11.02.07)
While I have no reason to dispute it, there is no hard evidence it is true either. If I recall correctly, back in the late '80's early '90's it was reported the the trend was for various terrorist factions to kind of sort of work together. This might involve a group of (not to pick on anyone in particular) Basque separatists to pull a bank robbery in the US ti finance an IRA operation that was selling weapons to Afgan rebels. So why not Arab terrorists mingling with Mexican and South American anti-US groups? Hugo Chavez does not seem to be overly friendly with the Bush administration and Venezuela is a relatively short distance from the Mexican border. I'm not sure Raul Castro would be as vehemently opposed to the US as his brother Fidel is, but I would not expect him to seek any major changes in Cuban policy towards the US either. Cuba is geographically a lot closer to both the US and Mexico, so why not a conduit between Mexico and Venezuela through Cuba?
