1. Finally some backbone
Micha   (11.05.07)
It's about time that somebody spoke up. We're heading down a very dark road at the moment.
2. El Baradei
Brod ,   USA   (11.05.07)
There is no doubt he is covering up on Iran to give the Ayatollahs ample time to work on and complete their nukes. As an Islamist-Jihadist, it seems it is his duty to do that for Iran. It is time the UN replaces him.
3. Why is a muslim chief of IAEA?
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (11.05.07)
In their scriptures, they are commanded to lie on purpose in order to spread islam, and it's values. Any person who is believing in such a doctrine is VERY unfit to be chief of IAEA. Of course he is sabotaging the efforts to halt irans nuclear weapons ambitions. He is a muslim.
4. #3 WHY NOT?
Alex ,   San Francisco, USA   (11.05.07)
There is nothing in the Quran that commands people to Lie. Please get your facts straight. Your linking of religion and credentials really shows your backwardness!!!
5. Finally, the Israel foreign ministry has the courage...
Mark Kerlen ,   Canada   (11.05.07)
...to speak the truth. The IAEA and El Baradei are protecting Iran.
6. Dec 10, 1994 Yasser Arafat was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize
redmiike ,   tel aviv and london   (11.05.07)
The decision to award Arafat the coveted Nobel Prize was based on the belief that he had renounced acts of terror and had become a sincere participant in a true peace process. But this was all a fiction. Even in 1993 and 1994, with the ink fresh on the peace agreement papers, there was a high rate of terrorism against Israel; seventy-three Israeli soldiers and civilians were killed and more than 100 wounded in 1994, up slightly from 1993.
7. #4 - get your facts straight too ..
redmiike ,   tel aviv and london   (11.05.07)
The Koran doesn't tell Muslims to lie but it does say that lying to a Kafir is not lying.... "Your linking of religion and credentials really shows your backwardness!!!" Maybe check it out at the mosque tomorrow :-) and recent news just in .. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7078712.stm oh dear :-( it's about the religion of love and peace ..
8. you'r either with us or against us...get it Moh!
me ,   Gaza   (11.05.07)
9. IAEA
Micha El ,   Bethesda Maryland   (11.05.07)
Ask Israel to join IAEA first before complaining about IAEA's work in Iran. What a Chutzpah!
10. IAEA thwarting efforts against Iran
Jan ,   uk, London   (11.05.07)
“They plunder, they slaughter, and they steal: this they falsely name Empire, and where they make a wasteland, they call it [democracy or] peace." Tacitus The main reason that the current US administration has been able to avoid impeachment and prosecutions for their war crimes against humanity despite the catastrophic damages of bringing massive destructions and brutal slaughter of innocent men and women and children into Iraq, Afghanistan and now Iran is next, if they succeed in their aims, is due to the complete feelings of indifference and lack of appropriate actions on the part of those of good UK and American Citizens whom in the past have failed to take actions to oppose and stop the implementations of genocidal policies of neocons by G.W. Bush Administration. There is ample evidence and proofs that exist to help us to examine, reflect and conclude that the warmongers who have afflicted the current US government like a bad disease - with a direct help from US Media - are acting in the interests of their selfish and Zionist agendas against Iran. The Bush Administration's aim in politicizing criminal actions is to blind US citizens, i.e., the tax payers and the electorates into believing that the policies they are pursuing are of governmental business and it the interest of the US citizens and the country! G.W. Bush soon after taking over the office of US President has been acting like a “Manchurian Candidate” - following the orders of his masters and sponsors who the world pretty much knows are the neocons of this world he is closely and ideologically connected with - like a two a joint up bodies at birth. Journalist and author "Reese Erlich" in his latest book on Iran, explains how the Bush Administration has long planed to subvert the Iranian government and lie about it to the American people. The book uncovers details of how the U.S. has funded ethnic minorities to carry out guerrilla raids and terrorist bombings inside Iran. We should all remember that it is the US’s and UK’s citizens votes and taxes spent which enabled Bush and Blair to embark on their illegal invasions - causing unimaginable destruction and massive killings of innocent Iraqis and Afghan people. Now the Bush Administration is said to be in the final planning stage of starting his next illegal war against the people he hates - the Iranians. It is reported that the US air force will be dropping its latest productions of nuclear bombs in heavily populated towns and cities of Iran on a large scale.
11. Elbaradei: Over my dead bdy
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (11.05.07)
ElBaradei will never give the UN the green light requested to use force against nuclear installations in Iran. He is accountable for his Chamberlainism. The UN should replace him, and fast.
12. #10 - you posted to the wrong talkback ..
redmiike ,   tel aviv and london   (11.05.07)
your post seems to be an anti-Bush rant. This forum is about "IAEA thwarting efforts against Iran" so please post else where .. thanks
13. Alex the oblivious, here you have some to start you off
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (11.05.07)
Go read qur'an sura 66, pay extra attention to verse 2. There are numerous other passages, it's all readily available on the internet if you don't bother read it from a printed qur'an. A good advise to you Alex, before flaming, read the text in question. Here is a quick-link for you and those interested: http://islam.thetruecall.com/Quran_Chapter_66:2.htm It will be an eye opener for you, good reading.
14. Jan #10
JB ,   Canada   (11.05.07)
Nice ad-libbing, Jan! Who wrote that script for you, one of your comrades? Your ability to see the world as it is is severely hampered by your obsessive hatred of America, Jews and anyone else who doesn't support your rabid pro-Islamofascist agenda. Now you can put your head back up your ass where you've had it for the past few years so you can see the world the way you would like!
15. You don't have righit to complain as ...
Reader ,   USA   (11.05.07)
Israel doesn't have right to complain as long as not member of IAEA. First sign in and become a member of IAEA after they 'll give you right to discuss this Good luck
16. #13, The Religious Scholar....
Rich ,   Phoenix, USA   (11.05.07)
I bet I can send you links to a few phrases out of the Bible or the Torah, and if taken out of context can be controversial or imply a dangerous or provocative message. People have always used such methods to prove their radical and extremist points of view, IN ALL RELIGIONS! And what you’re doing is not any different….
17. Not surprised
Myron E. ,   USA   (11.05.07)
Would it help to know that El-Baradei's wife is Iranian and that her first cousin is among Iran's most important and powerful mullahs? No? Yes?
18. Israel Has No Right To Complain About Others
Lev Bronstein ,   Moscow, Russia   (11.05.07)
If Israel were not already in possession of its own rogue nuclear weapons that it developed in secret and hid from the world, was a signatory to the NPT and abided by UN resolutions itself, perhaps then the IAEA would give a damn about what Israel thinks, but in reality what Israel wants is irrelevant as usual given Israel's own violations. In addition, Israel’s own rogue nuclear weapons program is the sole reason that other nations in the ME seek to develop deterrence to Israeli aggression by developing their own nuclear weapons, so for Israel's leaders to whine about the peaceful nuclear program of Iran is simply laughable at best and would be still laughable given Israel’s own clandestine program. Over half of all Europeans polled in late 2003 considered Israel to be a biggest threat to world peace above all others, and thus the IAEA should be targeting Israel and not Iran given that, unlike Israel, Iran has never threatened anyone, much less attacked them .
19. #16 The naive
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (11.05.07)
" bet I can send you links to a few phrases out of the Bible or the Torah, and if taken out of context ". I'm sure you can, good for you. Did you even bother to read the material submitted? Did you bother to read the chapter? Fool!
20. More about El-Baradei's wife
Myron E. ,   USA   (11.05.07)
The American and European Lame Stream Media have been covering this up. It's veracity should be confirmed, however. As follows:Aida Elkachef, El-Baradei's wife, is Iranian and a FIRST COUSIN of Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani, one of the "brains'" of the Iranian regime and a close associate of Khomeni.
21. Good !
(11.05.07)
I very well remember ElBaradei and Hans Blix's part in the build-up to the war in Iraq. They do not have political mandates, but they both were to hear too often on several tv-channels.EiBaradei didn't want any war but Blix were harder to understand.I thought he had something for "everyone",and it looked as if he loved the "game".As the Head of an important organ like the IAEA he(ElBaradei)should concentrate on his job.If Iran refuses to open up for real inspections then how valuable is his coming report ?
22. #19- Johnny, I'm afraid Alex hails from San Fransisco.
Cameron ,   USA   (11.05.07)
That implies he's little more than a blind, Progressive hack. Sounds like Rich is of the same stamp.
23. Johnny (#13, 19) No need to resort to insults...
Alex ,   San Francisco, CA   (11.05.07)
Obviously Rich has read your link, as I have . I think that's why he sent you the message... I'm doubtful of Sweden's future if they're are breeding too many of your kind....
24. 2 points on this subject
David ,   USA   (11.06.07)
1. As long as Israel has not signed the NPT, they look stupid talking about how IAEA should conduct it's business on Iran. 2. Saying Al Baradei is muslim or his wife is Iranian so he is biased towrads Iran is following the same line that anti-semites use to accuse jewish politicians of being loyal to Israel first and foremost than their own countries.
25. #22, Cameron, the other idiot...
Alex ,   San Francisco, USA   (11.06.07)
"That implies he's little more than a blind, Progressive hack. " May be you should open up the dictionary and read what the word "progressive" means... I assure you it is not as bad as you think. FYI, San Francisco is a city at the forefront of science, innovation, entrepreneurialship, tolerance, etc... It has the 14th largest economy in the World. You must be a food-stamp dependent, trailer-park junkie from the illiterate South!
26. #10, yawn
Danny   (11.06.07)
Don't you people ever get tired of spouting the same propaganda? "said to be in the final planning stage of starting his next illegal war against the people he hates - the Iranians. " - let us do something you clearly haven't bothered to do, examine the evidence: Launching a strike against Iran would take two carriers in the gulf at least - there has been one since the 2007/10/21, the USS Enterprise and there hasn't been three since Spring. There would also need to be a significant increase in the air expeditionary forces available which there hasn't been and the special bunker busters won't be delivered until 2009 at the earilest which is past the current presidency. As for the rest of your cobblers is your "proof" as good as your "evidence" for an immenient attack on Iran?
27. #18, it's like talking to a ventriloquists dummy
Danny   (11.06.07)
Crazy Iranians or Iranian proxies say something and it comes out of Lev's mouth.... "Israeli aggression" against the Islamic Republic?? I'm afraid it back to school for history lessons. Guess who was supplying Iran with arms in the early 80s when no one else would? Clue begins with I... It would be the same country that has never attacked Iran. If Israel is not a signatory to the NPT - which is not mandatory, neither is India, North Korea or Pakistan but I don't see you complaining about them - then it's "nuclear weapons" cannot be "rogue". Iran IS a signatory so the IAEA should be doing it's job and monitoring. Or Iran can do a North Korea and pull out of the NPT. Wouldn't you be more at home on a Jihadi website with Jan? You'd feel better talking to other people as clueless as you...
28. c´mon!
tom   (11.06.07)
People, Israel established in Dimona a nuke plant for bombs! Of course I support Israel 100% but what we critize El Baradei, Israel did the same! So... Iran will never get a nuke god forbid... but.. let´s talk honest here
29. ElBaradei HAS lied
avi ,   gaza   (11.06.07)
To all those who support this guy, just read his comments over the years. First it's: They're 2 years away from the bomb. Then it's 5 years. Then it's 8 years etc And the whole time he hasn't had access to one thing in Iran Enough of his bogus speculation! He's obviously covering for his pals.
30. Israel Would Sell Weapons to Anyone for a Buck Danny
Lev Bronstein ,   Moscow, RU   (11.06.07)
Funny you mention Israel providing weapons to Iran while the US supplying weapons to Saddam to defeat Iran, as that only proves that Israelis would sell out an "ally" in a New York minute in order to make a buck. And here is another riddle for you Danny boy, why would Iran even sign the NPT if by NOT doing so makes developing nuclear weapons by IRAN OK using the Israeli model if that were there goal?. And why would Iran not simply opt out of the NPT today as is their right by citing Israel's rogue nuclear weapons and non-compliance as a model for others rogue regimes to follow if nuclear weapons were their goal? But I suppose the World should listen to the whining of leaders of a reckless and law breaking rogue nuclear regime like Israel who are simply calling the kettle black rather than continue to abide by the NPT and its guidelines in supporting Iran's peaceful nuclear power industry.
