Livni is the last Kadima politician that still has a shred of credibility. She's a leftist and I disagree with her political ideas, but at least she makes it perfectly clear that she's first and foremost a Zionist. Sadly, I think she may be the last shred of hope (as tiny as it may be) in this retarded government. Let's hope she has the balls to stand up for her principles against Rice's pressure, because we all know Olmert doen't.

Palestinians have always hoped to convince the international community that they must have it both ways - a Palestinian state plus the demographic overthrow of Israel. They wanted the world to pressure Israel. For the Jews of Israel they hoped that threatening their slaughter would be enough to do the trick . Military victory with the help of other Moslem countries is their other hope. They haven't accepted that Israel as a Jewish-majority state should actually stay around. Erekat made that clear.

Kadima is not a good party for Israel, as much as I loved Ariel Sharon for what he did for Israel that was right in his long careers. Benjamin Netanyahu would not be this foolish, to think a Palestinian State within Israel or next to it could ever lead to peace or safety of the Jewish people. This policy of appeasement is insanity. US President Andrew Jackson solved similar problems with native Indians by putting them on reservations without the right to have armies and weapons they would only use to kill people with. US President Abraham Lincoln resolved the problem of people wanting a separate country with a civil war that preserved the union. His successor Andrew Johnson and the US Congress stripped the rebels of their US citizenship after the Civil War and many moved to South America which is a good place for the Pals to move to.

Pals must go to these places or to Saudi Arabia,and I mean as well pals/arabs(it doesn't matter bcs all the same)that are currently living as Israelis in Israel.They have to much land for them.Israel is too tiny to support non Jews,especilly enemies ,and give them the best welfare,sometimes in detriment of the Jews themselves! As for Iran, well, once you creat a west bank state, you will open it to Iran , hizbulla, al qaeda, and just liek you cannot go into Gaza now, you will not go into the new west bank terror stae. Get it? Rabin claimed that Oslo was reversible, ie if the PA would continue terror, israel would retake the territories. The polls recently said she is considered honest (for a politician, that is) but they should have asked is she smart. She repeats platitudes & slogans, parrots conventional wisdom, & is basically politically naive. I suppose she honestly believes that what she says, but generally, there is a total disconnect with reality. She just isn't competant to be Foreign Minister, probably why Olmert picked her for the job. She is not an independant thinker nor has she much insight. She is very much a proponant of the "wishful thinking" school of diplomacy, believing with total disregard of any evidence or analysis, that our adversaries will do what they "should" or "must" - not noticing that historically, they never have nor have they given any indication that they ever will. And when she says that the creation of an independant Palestinian state will somehow "solve" the problem of Israeli Arabs & their rejection of a Jewish state, she gets it totally wrong. Contrary to her naive belief, an independant Palestine will only exacerbate an already festering problem.

Have you ever heard of the Vatican? Are you suggesting it should be dismantled as well? The British gov had trouble actually finding out what they meant in the Balfour declaration and the McMahon declaration. They were making promises and concessions to everyone. They promised Jews a separate Jewish state, they promised Arabs the entire Middle East- whatever. The land that was to be a Jewish state before the 48 partition, was to be Tel Aviv and the surrounding area, 80% of the Jews lived on that 12.5% or so of land that was legally purchased by the JNF. Things didn't work out that way and there was the 48 partition and subsequent war. But in the end it doesn't matter and the point you are trying to make is worthless. It's been 60 years. Israel is a functioning, albeit filled with a set of domestic and external problems, Jewish democratic state. The end. Citing the Balfour Declaration and making faulty extrapolations doesn't justify the destruction of Israel's inherent character. As for everyone blasting Livni, I think what she did here was smart. There is a limit to just how many concessions you can make as a Zionist. As a ZIonist myself against the occupation, I'm glad Livni showed that this is the essential point; Israel must be recognized as what it is. That's it. Arabs (& others) within trying to destroy it should leave; full compensation, a beautiful house, etc from the Israeli gov, and they are off. To avoid this they don't even have to pledge loyalty. They just have to stop cooperating from within Israel with Hamas and other terror groups. Israeli Arabs should just live a normal friggin life, end this BS ideological war with the Jews, and focus on ending discriminatory practices against the rather than ending the government itself.

we all know that it´s not Islam nor any other religion which causes trouble, there are just several people who are afraid to lose their influence and power and incite ordinary people against each other, that was the case in the 40´s before the establishment of the State of Israel and it´s the same now. I´m pretty sure that Jews & Arabs could easily live among each others, but ideologies, Hamas & Fatah with their islamofascism incite ordinary Palestinians against Jews/Israel. The Israeli government also partially contributes to that. One should fight the source, not the ordinary people. As far as I understand Livni wants a mass expulsion of Arab citizens of Israel? Hopefully that will never happen, we, Jews, who suffered so much during the course of history are not entitled to such measures, otherwise we are no better than those who persecuted us for thousands of years. However, Israeli Arabs should pledge allegiance to Israel and do civil/military duties. As soon as a Palestinian State is established (which hopefully won´t be the case in the near future due to current circumstances), Israeli Arabs should not be treated exceptionally. They will have their own state and if they don´t want to live as equal citizens with equal rights and DUTIES their citizenship should be revoked and they should go to Palestine. In a democratic State all citizens must have equal rights and duties. Why are Israeli Arabs exepmted from military and civil service? They enjoy a comparably high standard of living in Israel and don´t want to give anything in return, perhaps they should once see the anarchy in Gaza & West Bank and they´ll change their mind.

I cant think of any other country in the world where the foreign minister says that some of our citizens should sing the national anthem of another country because they dont accept Israels existance as a jewish state. Citizenship of Israel is a package deal no matter what your faith is or where you come from originaly you want citizenship you accept the lagal status of that country, you accept its flag, anthem and every other symbold of state and law. If Livni wants the arab citizens of Israel to sing the palestian national anthem then let them hand in the passports and make a 1 way trip accross the border. This government comes out with more and more rediculous statements and policies every day. Israel is the clown of the Middle East its no longer a country to respect and look up to its a country to laugh at.
