The whole "draft-dodging" media frenzy is just another ploy to distract the public from what's really important---the deconstruction of Israel---which will make the IDF irrelevant in the end.

the IDF is quite different from the Russian army. I have read that in the Russian army there is a lot of physical abuse that is not part of physical training, but is vicious beatings. Maybe as a Jew in Russia he was targeted for more beatings and he couldn't face another year of that, thinking the IDF was like that. Maybe I am wrong, but that is a possibility.

Thank G-d we have the hesder yeshiva students defending Israel. Without the religious in the army the combat units would be empty.

my son had a 97 profile and requested combat service and was sent an exemtion from the army in the mail...go figure...i guess the recruiter didnt like his looks or something

they have a serious problem. There is no full scale war, and young Israelis should have the option to do some form of social volunteer work, like in Europe.
