1. An Arab in Israel can incite terror
Israeli ,   North   (11.26.07)
Isn't there a war waged on us by Arabs?
2. Film should be screened with disclaimer.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.26.07)
It should be clearly labeled "Enemy Propaganda" with a short introduction that it is a false & inaccurate description of events.
3. Jenin Jenin
Renee ,   big city usa   (11.26.07)
I have the movie Jenin Jenin and it is no secret that the Isareli IDF kill innocent people ( mostly babies and children). I live in the middle of usa, and yes we know how horrific Israel is. Most people in usa do not support Israel.
4. It is NOT a documentary
JPS ,   Efrat   (11.26.07)
The movie is nothing more than another piece of Palestinian propaganda. Bakri himself has admitted the film presents statements that are purposefully not factual and misleading. The film builds on the lies perpetrated by Saeb Erekat on international television that over 500 Palestinians were "massacred" in Jenin. International humans rights organizations investigated and found that there was no massacre. Thus, this film is nothing more than slanderous propaganda.
5. Thanks Aharon Barak
D. Olmert ,   Jerusalem   (11.26.07)
#3 exactly proves that Aharon Barak was wrong. Israelis know that Bakri is a liar. They can watch the film and easily decide what is real and what is not. Hillbilly Renee from nowhereville sees it and does not have the capacity to understand what is true and what is false. That is how the flames of antisemitism are spread. Thank you Aharon Barak.
6. Renee
Israel   (11.26.07)
Everything you just wrote has never been proved. Every time something like that comes out, is quickly disproved. What has been proved by photographic and video evidence is Israeli soldiers giving food, water, and assistance to those women and children who you claim they are killing. So get your facts straight before you go and make your anti-semitic statements.
7. Justice is served.....
YMBMY ,   Modiin, Israel   (11.26.07)
...that is until it gets overtuned by the holier than thou High Court. and to #3 - Renee or Rahid or whatever your name really is, it might helped if you left your Montana commune and see what is really going on here in the world. Most educated and informed people in the US think you are an ignorant fool and I think you have proved their point. Try speaking after you have read the facts next time.
8. To Mahmood, aka Renee, #3
Merlin ,   Boston,USA   (11.26.07)
Couldn't you make up something better than "big city, usa"? Or why not tell the truth, "under a rock, gaza"?
9. jenin jenin
logan ,   tel aviv   (11.26.07)
So one of the 'victors' now proclaims that everyone will have to be careful of what they report or show in films. Who will be the arbiter of what is the truth and which standards will be applied? The sensitivities of a handful of reservists now count for more than an open discusion of what everyone knows was an appaling sequence of events that neither side can be proud of. What a indictment of free speech in Israel
10. Logan
israeli ,   israel   (11.26.07)
Does free speech mean that one can lie as much as one wants and get away with it? Have you watched Pierre Rehov's "The Road to Jenin"? It is available on youtube.
11. Brave fighters against women and children
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (11.27.07)
Mustn't upset Israel's gallant soldiers after their terrible struggle against civillians in Ramallah. Very brave lads when fighting defenceless women and children. IDF is not quite so brave however when facing Hizb'allah. When the enemy is trained, fearless, has weapons and knows how to use them, then itsa different story. Such great heros, they need compenssation after having to watch a film of their nasty handiwork in Jenin. An army of cowards.
12. Jenin Jenin is an exagerated propaganda film, however,
Jack ,   richmond, va, us   (11.27.07)
Israeli soldiers did in fact commit atrocities in Jenin. Namely, they bulldoze houses with people still in them. A man in a wheelchair died because he was unable to get out. So hundreds of people did not die. Entire families were not wiped out. But the IDF entered a densely populated area, blasting through the walls of peoples homes, and bulldozing some homes down. The people of Jenin fled the attack after it started during an attack with bombs and bullets flying. They had no idea whether family members had made it out for many days which certainly added credence to the exagerated numbers of dead. I submit that a massacre did in fact occur in Jenin. Just because the number of innocent dead was small does not mean no massacre occured. Historically, the killings of a handful of innocent/defenseless people would constitute a "massacre". Women, children and the handicapped were killed in Jenin. Sure it was a very small number, but they died in their own homes because the bulldozer drivers did not permit enough time for them to escape and the IDF did not verify that each home was empty. This factual situation from my point of view connoted a massacre. I have seen open warfare, and the fact is that Israel willingly brought open warfare to bear upon a poverty stricken civilan population fully beseiged by Israel. There is no excuse for not having the homes cleared, or better yet, not destroying them in the first place. A little justice would do everyone some good.
13. "Rene" is an Arab. Most Americans support Israel.
Palestiniansareamyth ,   USA   (11.27.07)
"Rene's" grammar just gave him/her away. I doubt this Arab supporter even lives in the United States.
14. cinemateques craven behavior
carole zabar ,   new york usa   (11.27.07)
It is morally reprehensible that cinemateque and cinemateque tel aviv did not have the moral courage to stand up to these soldiers who are clearly backed by the same right wingers who want to throw all the arabs out of israel. Mohammad Bakri has contributed more to the culture of Israel that any of the other players in this story. Shame on you
15. freedom of speech is
logan ,   tel aviv & london   (11.27.07)
exactly that: the right to say whatever you want (howver unpleasant) within the framework of the law. the fact that soemone finds it an inconvenient truth or unpleasant makes no difference. For too long Jews and Israelis have believed in two versions of the truth - the one that benefits them and the one that doesn't. Its time we stopped being the whingers of the world and accepted a single version of the truth. If we do things that teh rest of the world finds abhorrent it would be bettere to stop doing them instead of bullying people to stop reporting them
16. Typical lefty idiocy
Noah ,   Vista   (11.29.07)
#3 Renee - your stupidity is a constant shame to our nation. It is, in fact, no secret that the IDF does not target innocents whereas Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, and the Al-Aqsa Brigades do exactly this. While highly unlikely, I certainly hope that one day you realize just what a moronic douche you really are.
17. #9
Noah ,   Vista, CA   (11.29.07)
Hi Logan - so if I produced a movie showing how you rape your own daughter regularly you feel that would be freedom of speech? But Logan - you *do* do things the rest of the world finds abhorrent. You hide behind children while launching rockets into Israel, you strap bombs to your own children, and you murder your own daughters to preserve your 'honor'. You are also completely incapable of any semblance of the truth when it comes to reporting on what goes on in the ME. So perhaps if you stopped being such an all-around POS people wouldn't have such a low opinion of you?
18. Freedom of speech does not permit a person to lie
eliyahu   (12.05.07)
Freedom of speech is a right that permits freedom to exist. Libel is a punishable crime that is used to destroy freedom and justice. I don't understand how the two can be confused. To say that almost all arabs are terrorists is libel. To say that almost all acts of terror in the world today are perpetrated by Moslems is a fact that few people dare to say. The massacre in Jenin never happened. Not even the PA claims it happened. To make a movie about it and present it as a documentary is slanderous.
