With all due respect, stupid people shouldn't breed

This incident should raise the fundamental issues of (1) why British people and indeed other Westerners insist on working in Muslim countries, and thereby give support to terrorist regimes, and (2) why the West just does not "get it", and persistently refuses to "get it", about Islam. Instead, we are spun a tarradiddle about the kindhearted Sudanese government and our wonderful "British Muslims".

I don't think all Muslim countries are 'terrorist regimes' I agree that the Sudanese government is not the most benign government in Africa but what exactly does the West not 'get' about Islam? Are you also suggesting that British Muslims are the opposite of 'wonderful'? Every single one of them?

Larry, I agree with you! Westerners including Americans should steer clear from Arab countries. Why? Because Arabs do not tolerate christians nor do they appreciate what you do for them. What the West does not "get" about Islam is that too many of its spiritual leaders are given carte blanche to manipulate and distort its message for political gain in order to have control over the minds of its followers. Judicial systems which are based on Sharia law have proved time and again to be inhumane and arbitrary because they are based solely on the interpretation of Islam by the few who are in power. Can anyone think of a more ludicrous cause for jailing a person than this recent teddy bear incident? or the even more egregious case of the 18 year old victim of gang rape who has been sentenced to 6 months in jail and 200 hundred lashes, presumably for having the audacity to be female? Blasphemy laws seem ridiculous to the West; a throw-back to the Middle-Ages when the Catholic Church controlled what people were allowed to think, say and do. The Islamic courts' methods of applying theocratic rule are just as out-moded and unenlightened. A fair judicial system must apply Reason and Logic to try cases, not superstition, hearsay and subjective interpretation of intent. Hope that answers your question. Salaam

regard islam and muslims as one big terro group, they time and time again showed that this is what they are in London and other parts of the world.
