1. Anarchists, crazy lefties,
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (12.05.07)
aka peace terrorists. During the second WW, carpet bombing Gaza would have been justified and widely non critisized. And when finaly comes a decision to stop sending fuel and electricity to our enemy, these self loathing asshats decide that it's "a collective punishment". Indeed, human reason isn't universal.
2. They are not guilty ????
charles ,   petach tikva   (12.05.07)
They let quassam launchers do their "job" from their gardens , roofs and so on , are'nt they collaborating with them ? so they are guilty . Did'nt they give them human shields ? They suffer , yes , but their own fault . There are always blind "people" , blind on what's happening on one side , not on the other . For them we have to let those murderers work freely , without harming them or their supporters .
3. Go and post this crap in Sderot, if you have the balls.
Tahl ,   Israel   (12.05.07)
They feel pretty safe and comfortable within the friendly confines of North Tel Aviv and Herzlia. They empathize more with terrorists in Gaza, than with their own brothers in Sderot who suffer from these terrorists' kassams. These dolts don't realize that outside of Shenkin, they have virtually no support, as hopefully Meretz wouldn't make it past the minimal threshold in the next elections. Go and live in under Hamas rule in Gaza! If you really want to stand up for your principles. Hopless Idiots.
4. they would've protested against warsaw ghetto uprising too!
aaron ,   ra'anana   (12.05.07)
5. Collective punishment is a war crime - so stop the Qassam
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (12.05.07)
Firing Qassam rockets at Sderot and the Gaza-area communities is more collective punishment than cutting power to Gaza. Israel should have cut power and water when we disengaged. They wanted to be "unoccupied" so let them spend the time and effort on building power stations and infrastructure rather than rockets.
6. What about shutting their power down?
(12.05.07)
7. the gaza liberation front claims responsibility?
rashid ,   palistinian   (12.05.07)
f**k off, we at the front for the liberation of gaza hate the gaza liberation front we also dont like the liveration front of gaza they are all splinter groups of the original which is the front for the liberation of gaza and we just dont like them believe me thank you please ynet
8. The Army is there even for the morons
yored   (12.05.07)
so that idiots (look it up, in the original meaning of the word) can have freedoms including free speech. Thank you IDF !!!
9. Anarchists shut off power
Marlene ,   Israel   (12.05.07)
How pathetic can a group of people get. Totally childish. Why dont they worry about the cars being stoned, the rockets going off, people being killed. If they are so pro palestinian go live there. I hope the electricity department sues this organisation for false reporting and littering.
10. To everyone in Gaza not protesting Kassem rockets:
jew ,   jerusalem   (12.05.07)
Listen guys, if I were a proud Arab, and believing Muslim, and someone would shell civilians, abduct soldiers, instead of conducting peaceful negotions, I would feel that my national honour would be disgraced . The fact that no Arab seriously speaks against Arab violence speaks for itself.
11. Cool Idea!!!!
Electrician   (12.05.07)
Two things are remarkable: 1. Collective punishment IS a war-crime 2. The possibility of the Electric Company really cutting down the power in a whole city seems so poissible to people in tyhis country, they actuly believe it. No matter, how far-fetched an act like this actually is....
12. population exchange
joseph ,   israel   (12.05.07)
Israel should make a one to one exchange: Anarchists from Sheinkin to Gaza and honest Arabs from Gaza to Sheinkin. Let the Hamas, Holocaust-denier Abbas and "Anarchists" rot in their own filth.
13. Gaza is Liberated!!!!!
Z Lando ,   Tekoa, Israel   (12.05.07)
Hurray! No Jews allowed!!!! The left and "anarchists" (ie spolield brats, children of spoiled brats..) can feel great... Gaza is clean of Jews!!!!
14. Malicious Mischief ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.05.07)
I would think the Electric Co. could sue them - a nice, expensive civil suit is the right way to deal with these lunatics. In many counties, there are laws against malicious mischief - I'm sure we have some law that could be used to impose a really stiff financial penalty on them. Free speech is fine - even lunatics have a right to their opinion but when it crosses the line, they must bear the financial burden of their convictions. I won't even say anything about cutting the electricity to Gaza - we don't need to justify penalizing an enemy in any way possible.
15. Right, because Gaza gives Tel Aviv free electricity.
Ora ,   Jerusalem   (12.05.07)
Idiots.
16. Send them to Sderot to have Kassams
Meir ,   Beit Shemesh   (12.05.07)
These idiots should be sent to Sderot and locked in a house, and hope that they are subjected to the daily collective punishment of Sderot with Kassams. Stupid self-hating fools!!!
17. Independence Means Independence
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (12.05.07)
If Gazans want independence, then they have to be willing to accept to total independence, including independence from Israel from all resources including electricity, fuel, water and medical services. You can't have it both ways! You can't demand independence and dependence at the same time! As long as the Arabs want our electricity, let them behave. Misbehave - and we cut off your juice. Actually, I once suggested that it would be more effective if we actually dramatically and suddenly increase the electrical flow to them so that with a massive voltage surge any piece of equipment, machinery, light bulb or computer they have would burn out immediately.
18. reply to # 12
Simon ,   TA Israel   (12.05.07)
and how about Religious fantatics that wish to inflict their way of life on others to Tehran ?
19. Send Greivsky on a fact finding mission to Gaza
JPS ,   Efrat   (12.05.07)
Or maybe Adar Greivsky should go join the Liberation Front of Gaza. Then if Greivsky goes to Gaza and is arrested, we can call on Haniya to "Wewease Adaw Gweivsky"!
20. Left wing IDIOTS!
Avraham ,   Netivot   (12.05.07)
21. The 'ole "Collective punishment is a war crime" lie
David ,   Rehovot   (12.05.07)
Collective punishment is not a war crime and the GC don't say it is. It only rises to such if the collective punishment is meted out in response to acts of individuals. However, what we have is: 1) Fatah, Hamas & IJ all being involved in terror 2) The three parties hold more than 90% of the seats in the PA Parliament 3) The PA also refuses to act against other parties performing terrorist acts. Both the PA's involvement and inaction are collective actions and the response to limit electricity is completely legal and justified according to the GC. What the aplogists for terror keep claiming is that the Arabs can continue to make collective choices and yet escape collective responsibility for those choices. That is clearly a lie.
22. I love the ignorance of a group of anarchists
David ,   Rehovot   (12.05.07)
it's the funniest part of the article. A bunch of idiots created an organization to push an anarchist concept. It shows just how unclear they are on the concept.
23. Let's shoot Kassam's at Gaza then
daniel   (12.05.07)
24. I Just Don't Get It
Christy ,   Boston, US   (12.05.07)
WHY should Israel keep supplying electricity to Gaza? I thought the Gazans (aka Palestinians) were people who wanted to have nothing to do with Jewish Israel, other than to remove (kill) the Jews? Expecting Israel to supply electricity to people who want to kill them is NUTZ! Perhaps the Gazans will PAY ISRAEL for the electricity & electrical infrastructure. But, until this is worked out, Israel is under NO obligation, that I can see, to provide electricity to people who want to kill Jewish Israelis & who keep firing rockets. The anarchists, etc. who are so concerned about this situation could use their time better by helping the Gazans get their OWN electrical grid & their OWN electricity. This would help the Gazans more than sticking up fictitious bills.
25. Anarchist for negotiation with Hamas
Serge ,   Antwerpen, Belgium   (12.05.07)
these anarchist don't want to understand Hamas doesn't want to negotiate with Israel.
26. "This motley crew " - is this fair reporting?
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (12.05.07)
This biased report is included in the 'News' section rather than under comment or opinion. This 'motley crew' are amongst the brave and good of Israel. If israelis abroad can still occasionally claim to be proud of something it is the so-called democracy and so-called free press. This one-sided article adds nothing good to your reputation.
27. cut the power to gaza permanently and completly
johnny walker ,   black label   (12.05.07)
let them get their power from egypt
28. Send Them to Sderot
Daniel Temkin ,   Tel Aviv   (12.05.07)
29. What don't these dopes understand?
Justin ,   New York   (12.05.07)
Hamas says all the time we won't work with Israel because we don't accept them as legitimate. Abbas is a small minority in the eyes of the Palestinians, but these idiots pretend and live in fantasy.
30. the real problem
ben ,   jerusalem   (12.05.07)
its amazing, we have a country run by criminal lefties, a misleading lefty media, all these lefty tel avivi's who despise the right wing/religious. all those people are doomed, and they r taking everyone else with them. this israel experiment didnt last too long, i guess we spit in g-ds face for giving it back after all these years. people seem to forget that their is no such thing as palestinians. show me thier literature from a few hundred years back, oh yeah, thats right, they all are related to people from surrounding countries, refugees that not even their own bretheren want to take in. i am not a religious person, but i am traditional, and its is interesting that we are COMMANDED to remember amalek for what he did to us and what he continues to do. in the haftorah of parshat zachor we read about king shaul having mercy on king agag of amalek even though g-d commands him to destroy all amalek because all being merciful on the cruel will lead to the cruel having no mercy on you. now g-d takes away his kingship. thats kinda harsh, no? i mean, he has a merciful, kind jewish heart, doesnt that show g-dlike qualities we want in a leader? later, when shaul is trying to find and kill (king) david, the city of the (once) holy kohanim protected his whereabouts, so he ordered them ALL killed. where was his mercy now g-d asks? when you show love to your enemy and hate to your brothers, your perception of what is right gets distorted and you in turn become evil, your enemy destroys you, and your brothers die because of you. olmerts wife and human rights activists alike will go make human shields in front of palestinian territories, g-d forbid should we hurt those poor terrorists, lets free their prisoners and give them land in exchange for more threats and rockets. gimme a break, you lefties are all blind! israel has become currupt, forget about our religion, we lost our jewish values (look at tel aviv for example), we kick jews out of their homes, the ones who actually love their land and want it more than the palestinians do, its pathetic that the palestianians want jerusalem more than the lefties do. we never learn from history, 3000 years same story, it keeps happening and we keep failing, lets get it right already! they dont want peace! now we are giving them half of jerusalem, parts of israel, confidence, freed terrorists, and get nothing in return. this is the begining of the end of modern israel. we blew it guys, the experts give it 50 years, thats it. wake up!!!!!
