tzachi ,   TA, Israel   (12.09.07)
israel is suposed to be a light appon the nations if this is how low we are were do we expecet the world to be
2. Isn't it an abomination?
Juan ,   Spain   (12.09.07)
Oh dear, Israel is going down the slippery path of the Western world. Totally immoral.
3. #1 Tzachi
Petra ,   usa   (12.09.07)
Israel is supposed to be many things she is not. Would you rather these people be stoned to death? Should every adulterer also be stoned? Laws are to be followed whether or not you agree with them. The kindness of these gay couples assures these kids a home. Many like yourselves would keep them locked up in orphanages. Would this be the best Israel could do? The kids need a loving home and if this is the law, live and let live. Stop acting so righteous! The kids are innocent, you harbor prejudice. Would you adopt a child?
4. Anything But A Jewish State, So Say The Radical Post Zionist
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (12.09.07)
This is just one more nail in the Jewish coffin of the State of Israel. In its frenzied zeal to be a nation like all others, and to NOT be a light unto the nations, its left wing, radical leadership has decided to be a nation more like Sodom and Gemorrah. Simply repulsive!
5. #3 Petra
Ephraim ,   Diaspora   (12.09.07)
Petra, you tell Tzachi, "stop acting so righteous," Torah tells us we should be acting righteous. Should we follow Torah or follow Petra? This is the reason Israel is growing weaker and is not enjoying the military victories she has for many years. Turn your back on HaShem and He will turn His back on you. I would think you would know that after 4000 years of making the same mistakes over and over. Your comments sadden me Petra. Do T'shuvah while you still have breath. Go learn who your Moshiach is!
6. good for you high court

7. be Jewish, please
Helena ,   Finland   (12.09.07)
Israel demands that Abbas recognises Israel as a Jewish state but it doesn´t want to act like one. I understand that people have different opinions and many are not religious, but basic questions should not be solved like the western secular world does. The old Jewish belief is not that a child should have two mothers and not a father, isn´t it?
8. Gays love children
Shulamit   (12.09.07)
Gays love children check out http://nambla.org to learn all about how gays know whats best to do with children
9. Self Indulgence
Mary ,   Canada   (12.10.07)
I can't help but wonder if gay adoption isn't self indulgent. I understand their desire to be a couple, but is it fair to subject children to a life of defending their parents' choices because the 'parents' want an average nuclear family? I've heard all the arguments that gay people love their children, but if that is the case, why introduce them into a life of difficulty. Children should not be political pawns. You cannot normalize a life style this way. Put the kids first. Live your life and leave children out of it.

My G-d is not a bigot. I should have said, "Stop acting so self righteous." Acting is not the real thing. The Laws equally apply to all and prejudice against those who help children is not acceptable. I don't make the laws but, I try and follow them. I don't claim perfection but, if we as Jews wish to be accepted, we should grant mercy as we have received it. My point being, unless you adopt a child don't judge against those who do. Kids forgotten in an orphanage may not bother you, it does me and, if asked would G-d also not be disappointed? Remember Solomon? Shalom.

Please show me in the Torah where female gays are forbidden to adopt children? I can't find it in the Torah. Does the Torah forbid gay adoption? Following the Torah is not subject to YOUR opinion.
13. # 7 Helena Be Jewish, please
Petra ,   usa   (12.10.07)
"The old Jewish belief is not that a child have two mothers and not a father, isn't it'? And once, Solomon had over 1,000 concubines. Plus his wifes. Many wifes got many Jewish males into many problems. Is it better that an orphan has neither mother or father? There are gay men that marry and have children and male lovers. Is this any better?
14. child adoption
Dara ,   Israel   (12.10.07)
I'm not too sure where I stand on the rights of Gay persons to adopt children, but I know that I do not feel that this matter is not for the religious circle to decide. There are a lot of things written in the Torah, but it would seem that some of the most important things have been fogotten, such as a Mitzva done for a human being is more important than doing Mitzvaot for G-d. Giving a child a happy and healthy environment HAS to be a Mitzva. If a child knows no other home than that of two mothers or two fathers and they are well adjusted and happy, who is anyone to remove them from the environment they are thriving in? I suppose it would be best to judge every case on an individual bases and decide what is in the best interest of the child and if a Gay couple can offer the child the best possible life, then that's where they should be.
15. To all you religious people
Simon ,   TA Israel   (12.10.07)
As a gay man in a 10 year realtionship with 2 daughters we are entitled to lead our lives in peace and quiet. Being gay is someones genetic makeup and not a life style designed to piss you off. I personaly am not religious and do not live my life according to the Torah. So please do not quote your religion of hatred and intollernce at me as i do not live my life according to those rules. Israel is a democratic state that recognises the right of the individual so as much as you have the right to lead a religious life i also have the right to lead my life.In as much as the Nazis murdered 6,000 000 jews they also murdered 500,000 gay men, with the common dominator that we are differnet. It seems the Nazi idiology is alive and well.

Susan ,   Israel   (12.10.07)
when will Israel wake up and ban religious political parties from office? Any religious person interested in serving in the Knesset can serve in a secular party.
