Sderot mayor resigns due to security crisis     Shmulik Hadad
1. sderot
I think it's about time the government take responsability for people in sderot & area and does something concrete instead of just talking. i do not blame ELI MOYAL for resigning as mayor because he feels helpless.
STANLEY ,   TEL AVIV   (12.12.07)
2. Olmert is very quiet about the Qassams...
Maybe he thinks they're "peaceful" rockets fired by his partners. Next thing we know, he'll be releasing more terrorists from prison!
Laila ,   Manchester   (12.12.07)
3. This government disgusts me. Olmert is a criminal!
freejay ,   Israel   (12.12.07)
4. A very smart move, but it's Olmert that should resign
and take over Eli Moyal's vacant mayoral position.
Joseph P. ,   Jerusalem   (12.12.07)
5. Thanks Sharon, Olmert ,Kadima & Gov't for expulsion of GK
Harry   (12.12.07)
6. Why not declare Hamas & Islamic Jihad as "war criminals"?
KMR ,   Middle East   (12.12.07)
7. This is so sad. Does anyone care for Israel?
Petra ,   usa   (12.12.07)
8. oh little town of bethlehem
what your oh so admirable knesset does not realise is that referring to tony blair as "dog in the holy manger" will only encourage the man. the dog is associated with many things, and one of them is public voiding of its bowels. to combine his and cheries compulsons with the holy site now that xmas approaches, which means that temporarily the manger is the holiest, or at this moment most observed shrine of christianity, will only act as reward. eliza, will you please tell where you're hiding the chap? eeven the japanese didn't require officers to do physical labour, perhaps get yourself a job in the camp library if you're careful. earn yourself some pointa you could, sensible lump like yourself.
(12.12.07)
9. Sharon Would Have Dealt With It!
The Arabs only understand one language - crushing response! Hamas would have been a blip on the screen of Arab history had Sharon still been around. Why Israel tolerates a weak-willed corrupt bureaucrat as a leader is beyond me.
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (12.12.07)
10. What will it take?
To get other Israelis to stand up for the people of Sderot. Historically, Jews have stood up for each other. Why are Israeli Jews different? There should be large demonstrations until the Olmert government falls.
Sidney ,   USA   (12.12.07)
11. #6 It's pro-Arab groups who defines "war criminals".
You can't expect Human Rights or Betzelem or other such twisted-minded Leftist groups to declare their friends as "war criminals".
Joseph P. ,   Jerusalem   (12.12.07)
12. # 6 HRW
Do you follow the statements of Human Rghts Watch? If you did then you would know they called Hizbullah's shooting of rockets into Israeli civilian areas a war crime. Wanna bet they say the same for Hamas rockets?
(12.12.07)
13. sedirot
tel aviv is the only red line for this government. the rest of israel be damned.
meir ,   brooklyn,ny   (12.12.07)
14. Don't forget the lights.
Mark ,   Tel Aviv   (12.12.07)
15. THIS DUDE LOOKS HELLA SCARY
Rick ,   chicago, US   (12.12.07)
16. Don't Blame Him..
Eli Moyal has listened to me...I have been said several times here...What does the israeli government do for Sedrot.......NO any kind of protection really.....thank you Moyal coz I wrote through Ynet my voice and You have responded...Good Luck in new job....
Ibrahim ,   Egypt   (12.12.07)
17. How Sad that He Go
From what has got to be one of the toughest jobs in Israel. Unfortunately, it just got to a point to where he had to think about his own quality of life, and that of his family. There's no longer separation of work and private life. Sad.
Avi   (12.12.07)
18. The nameless Guy here e.g #8, #12
you guy have no any sense coz what he did is just a positive act in handling the crisis....might help the Government to wake up...and feel all around her....and How danger is.....please stop feelings of hatred...and give the opportunity of using the reasoning mind to come up something entirely valuable to your life might be more important than repeating the same shits...
Ibrahim ,   Egypt   (12.12.07)
19. Sderot
Does anyone understand what # 18 is trying to tell us????
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.12.07)
20. moral outrage
I challenge the readers to express moral outrage at the war crimes committed against the Jewish people in Sderot and sorrounding areas by the gangs and militias of Gaza with the support of Iran, Syria and Egypt. Condolissa Rice and the American administration are guilty of fostering and permitting war crimes. THe USA pressures Israel to sacrifice its own citizens and the government of Israeland the elite who receive their largesse from the USA are sacrificing their own lives and the lives of future generations. It won't work for the Jews today as it did not work for the Jewish establisihment in Germany which said be quiet and tried to protect their property and privileges by remaining silent. I challenge every reader to condemn the US and the Israeli government for allowing this destruction of our Jewish friends of Israel to take place.
Frederic R. Kass ,   Columbus, USA   (12.14.07)
