1. Thank you Askari ! My blessings
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (12.14.07)
2. What a great thing
To promote peace rather than violence. Perhaps this young mans example will remind people that we all are human beings capable of bravey and standing tall in the face of aggression. Bravo!
Petra ,   usa   (12.14.07)
3. The muslim was from Bangaladesh which is not arabic Muslims.
Muslims from Bangaladesh are generally very nice and western oriented people.
Shturem   (12.14.07)
4. To number 3
I will still have good faith in you and assume that if something happened to an Arab in front of you, that you will not hesitate to help. Let me tell you that most Arabs are not what you think about them. Take care.
Palestinian   (12.14.07)
5. To Palestinian
Askari did the humane thing to do....I would do the same for you...would you? Most jews are not what you think of them. Take care.
Right wing Israeli   (12.14.07)
6. Wrong photo (London hasn't changed into NYC yet B"H)
Your photo editor is way off beam - the picture on the main web page, supposedly of the NY Subway, is in fact one taken at Waterloo Station in London, before the Eurostar trains relocated to St Pancras International
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (12.14.07)
7. To nº 5.
I second motion your words and those of nº 3, with an answer to "would you nº4?" Most probably not! Take care 3 and 5.
David ,   Brazil   (12.14.07)
8. At least SOMETHING good came out of it.
BTW: I found this article via Google News...and this is just so SWEET: "Adler and Askari, who have become fast friends following this incident"...and those two in the picture. Reminds of that scene in Harry Potter when there first years became friends after fighting off a troll on Halloween. - Georgia Lam
Georgia ,   Toronto   (12.14.07)
9. To No 7
If you read the comments closely, you will see that No. 4 sounds like the kind of person who would help anyone - he promises to maintain good faith. You, 3 and 5, sound like the kind of people who don't assume good faith. as your comments show. may the world give you what you deserve.
sean   (12.15.07)
10. Christmas
It's sad to think that around Christmas time when there should be peace on earth and goodwill towards men that violence would occur. However, I still those ideals in this situation.
Marilyn ,   USA   (12.15.07)
11. Helping
Yes, it's all good, but would a Jew come to the aid of a Muslim being attacked.?
EA ,   USA   (12.15.07)
12. #11 Short answer: if he/she was a good person, then "yes"
same can be said of christians too.
(12.15.07)
13. Too bad...
Too bad that the ADL is not ready to stand up for racism, prejudice or bigotry when it concerns Israel and its racist laws and policies but certainly likes when other people stand up for Jews. The ADL should learn from this young man who has morals and ethical principles by just seeing people as human beings. He could have easily minded his own business, but he did not.
Marlene N. ,   New York City   (12.16.07)
14. To Right Wing Israeli
I would hope that people would think that no one should generalize about Jews and think that all Jews are like the majority of Israeli Jews who have no problem accepting Israel's racist laws and policies and inflicting it on others, and the oppression of the Palestinian people that culminates in the destruction of their lives in all areas, including the demolition of their homes. It is quite shameful, and if you do not speak out against it, then you are for it and you shame all decent Jews. .
Marlene N. ,   New York City   (12.16.07)
15. Marlene of New York
You're one sided raciest comments should be banned from the talk back. You neglect to see the oppression of Israelis by both the Palestinians and the Israeli government. In your own words, "if you do not speak out against it, then you are for it "
E ,   Canada   (12.16.07)
16. #14-15 Marlene - Why don't you crawl back in your hole?
#14-15 Marlene - Why don't you crawl back in your hole at Ha'aretze where they love to publish all your anti-Israel diatribes. But as you spew out all you anti-Israel garbage, you constantly ignore the near 100 years of massacres and terror against us including massacres of 1920, 1929, 1936, etc. Or Haj Amin al Husseini's collaboration with the Nazi and sharing their goal of exterminating the Jews. And how about all the wars against us or all the hijackings of the 70's. Their causing problems in other Arab countries and being expelled from Jordan and Lebanon. And then there were all bombs in public places followed by the suicide bombers, stabbings, driveby shootings, and constant mortars and Qassam during 2 Intifadas. And when given the chance the PAL terrorism show their "true colors" in the HAMAS charter unambiguously and uncompromisingly calling for the destruction of Israel. And when they are not committing acts of terror against up they are murdering Fatah as in the recent coup, kidnapping journalists and Fatah dignitaries, murdering Americans in Gaza to grant Fulbright scholarships to PAL kids, etc. Let's not forget the exploitation of the jobs we USED to give PAL that they exploited knowledge to blow up the Park Hotel and Heb Univ. cafeteria. And Mike's place and Sbarro's, etc. What about them electing terrorist HAMAS to represent them? And how about when we Disengaged and they destroyed the synagogue and hothouses left behind in their blind hatred. But throughout all this we have devised highly successful counter-terror measures to contain their terror in their backyards and make them deservedly suffer for their constant terror attempts against us and humanity. All suffering by PALs is directly due to their terrorist actions.
Umm El Kul Naqba   (12.16.07)
17. #6 You're an idiot
I lived in NYC for 16 years, that sign is for the 2 and 3 subway in the Financial District.
Matan ,   Tel Aviv   (12.16.07)
18. No. 3
True enough number 3, however the "extremist" that we call by a variety of names...including Bin Ladin appeared to be Western friendly as well. Most of the extremist have been educated by the West in some of the best schools and colleges we have to offer. And then again the key word is appeared. I believe this man did what was right period. He was being a good Samaritan...and deserves the credit for doing so.
Malka ,   NY, USA   (12.19.07)
