31. That English guy again?!?! Are you THAT ignorant?
JPS ,   Efrat   (12.18.07)
Well you read Ynet at least, but not that anything really sinks in: "Anyway, let's reiterate - the Israeli policy of raining death from the sky and killing all and everyone is, to a certain degree, a rat hunt. " Um? Scyooz me? You obviously have no military knowledge at all. So, hike your butt onto a train and go to the Royal Artillery Museum. http://www.firepower.org.uk/ Ask them to describe to you what a single 155mm howizer shell would do if fired at a populated civilian neighborhood. Then ask them what would happen if 10 such shells were dispersed through a heavily populated area. That, buddy boy, might be "raining death from the sky and killing all and everyone". THEN, get your butt back here to YNET and tell us what you learned. Compare what they told you to the airstrikes yesterday that killed armed Jihad and Hamas fighters, yet no civlilians. We see that you're a hatred-driven ignoramous. You obviously see yourself as a righteous knight in shining armour. But do go learn something before you spout off moronic baseless statements like the one above.
32. #29, I am Israeli and so is Terry
Danny   (12.18.07)
No one is saying that military action is "simple". I think we have no choice at least in the short term. At some point you have to say "We tried territorial compromise and it failed". Does this mean it will always fail, no it doesn't but I think you'd have to be delusional to believe that at the moment it will bring peace. I would also dispute your record of Algeria. I think that the French simply gave up and decided that Algeria wasn't worth the sacrifice - like the US did with Vietnam and has come close to with Iraq. It helped in both those cases that the war was nowhere near the mainland and that in neither case were the "resistance" claiming either France or the US as part of historic Algeria or Vietnam respectively.

40. #31 JPS, I thought the answer to that
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (12.19.07)
question is made manifestly obvious with his every post
41. I agree with 29
Shir ,   Finland   (12.19.07)
I´ve been reading these comments such as "deport them all" (like that´s gonna happen) "send them to Jordan" etc. and their expertise on weaponry that should be used. First I thought they weren´t serious, but it seems they really are. I would like to hear some other realistic ideas about the situation and what should be done.
42. Rickie from Porto Alegre
Sven ,   Sundsvall   (12.20.07)
You are being too nice.
43. Calculated Risk...
Matthew Rojansky ,   Washington, DC   (12.20.07)
I disagree for the reasons outlined in this post. Above all, I think this perspective fails to account for the blowback any large scale operation in Gaza will cause in the West Bank and the “Arab Street,” paralyzing an already weak Abbas and other moderate Arab leaders. To suggest that limited operations against Hamas (now the de facto government of Gaza) are possible is just wrong, especially given the movement’s new status and their ties to Tehran, which was marginalized at Annapolis and doubtless seeks an opportunity to play spoiler.
44. Diagnosis of insanity
EA ,   USA   (12.22.07)
Right on English Guy... Seems Israel is proof of the diagnosis of collective insanity.. That of repetition and expecting a different outcome..
