In Leb 2, Israel only used a small fraction of her capabilities and was pussy-footing around - not launching ground offensive til later - worried about world opinion. That would not be the case in a situation that required the use of nuclear weapons. In any case, towards the end of the 34 day encounter , Hezbollah were depleted significantly. Only wishful thinking and a hope that reality wasn't so could possibly allow any other kind of conclusion to form in ones' mind. Israel has never been 'allowed' to win any war. Until now Israel has acted with restraint and responsibility in a continuous war against enemies with no restraint. The goal of Israel's enemies has always been her destruction and that of the Jewish people. This includes the Arab armies that attacked her in numerous wars all the way to all the terrorist groups in Israel and around the world. Israel has on the one hand become a technological leader in the world with nuclear capabilities and developing satellites, precision missiles, 21st century military equipment all the way to commercial electronics, technologies, etc. In the current state of affairs there are any number of "watch" groups and media that present biased reports against Israel with regard to all counter-terror actions, etc. There is also the fear of Moslem reaction around the world if Israel should release her full might. A nuclear war would very quickly change all that. One can assume that Israel has thoroughly analyzed all scenarios and has brilliant tactical game plans prepared long in advance. USA and Israel has been working on anti-missile systems for sometime and probably have massive numbers deployed that would analyze the trajectory and bring down over Syria or Jordan any missiles not targeting Arab targets or population centers.
