If the Pals want their jailed guys released, then there is one condition only that Israeli citizens will accept: a full peace treaty with the Palestinians. That means the Palestinians officially in all their Arabic statements and documents give up the "armed struggle", the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state, the Palestinians shut down completely the armed organizations that attack Israelis and reject peace: Jihad, Hamas, Al Aqsa and the rest. And a peace treaty means the Pals teach their kids to live in peace with their Jewish neighbors with books and maps that show the borders of Palestine and Israel. If that happened, then I could consider letting convicted murderers out of prison. Those opposing a prisoner swap for Gilad Shalit's release fail to understand that an axiom of Israel's Army is that soldiers are not left abandoned in the field. Even without releasing prisoners Israel has no insurance policy against terror attacks.
