31. You misunderstand....it gives us the same right
Ibrahim ,   Egypt   (01.06.08)
Because it gives us the same right to build a new military base that your country will scream ..and gotta go to complain to US , EU as usual....you don't know that there is a country called Egypt that you must ask about any military action especially if it is related to Egypt-palestine border ...and your leaders know that....Be realistic....they avoid any crisis with us...that is Why they go to ask...
32. think of the consequences?
Ari ,   London, UK   (01.06.08)
Guys, I think you should all hold your horses and think a little about the consequences of such an action. The Egyptians will not sit there and watch us take Rafah. The US is the only force that could give us a guarantee that our actions won't result in negative consequences for us. Let's be honest, we all know that without US interference in 1973, Egyptian forces could have gone all the way to Tel Aviv. We underestimated them then and didn't see them coming. Let's not provoke another unnecessary war. Let's leave the US and EU to give the bad boys a slap on their face and let us focus on the real threats we are facing: Iran, Syria, Hamas... We're picking a fight with the wrong enemy
33. #30, because Zionists control the world
Danny   (01.06.08)
and because we don't live a "real" democracy like Syria or Gaza or Lebanon. Obviously our media isn't the same beacon of truth that Al-Manar is. I mean everybody knows that Hizbollah could destroy Merkevas at will - but felt that it should only destroy 5 - and fire rockets at Tel Aviv - but chose not to - and could have sunk any number of IDF ships but felt it would be wrong. Oh and no Hizbollah fighters were killed in the war, it was only civilians and Hizbollah doesn't fire from villages or civilian centres. Of course I wouldn't know that because I live in Tel Aviv. Thank god we have our anonymous friend to tell the truth so fearlessly.
34. Egyptian construction funds..!
Ibrahim ,   Egypt   (01.06.08)
We are ready to send you more cement ,sands and Water to build New Walls... just surround yourselves by high walls.. and you all will be better...Why don't you try.?
35. #34, it worked pretty well in the West Bank
Danny   (01.06.08)
and pretty well in Gaza. All we need to do now is build it all the way round the border between Gaza and you.
36. #32 is the english education system really that bad?
Danny   (01.06.08)
The Egyptians never even PLANNED to penetrate beyond their missile shield - of around 5 miles - let alone take Sinai let alone take Tel Aviv. Without US aid - which arrived and replenished the Israelis AFTER they had wiped out the Syrian army and fought the Egyptians to a standstill - it is probable that 1973 would not have been as clear-cut victory in the South but then again without US interference, Israel would have wiped out the Egyptian armies too - both of whom were cut off from supplies of food and weapons. As for the Egyptians "watching" us take Rafah, they didn't lift a finger in the 38 years it was occupied and I suspect the leadership wouldn't be that upset to have responsibility taken off their hands. So the likely response is alot of complaining but little action.
37. #30, 33 free media
(01.06.08)
Mubarak raised the same issue in your free media just a couple of weeks ago. No word -official or non-official - was raised in Israel, in response. You know why? because either you do not care or you have a free media, a frightening one!
38. #37, yeah right
Danny   (01.06.08)
The alternative is that Israel has video documentary evidence that the Egyptians were the ones helping Hamas smuggle in the weapons. You really think the Egyptian press is going to do anything other than parrot Mubarak's claims, no matter how ridiculous?
39. #30, 33
(01.06.08)
The president (Mubarak) also stressed that the large quantities of weapons transferred into the Gaza Strip do not originate in Egypt, and that they are shipped through the sea. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3487275,00.html
40. To Danny... where is Sharon?
(01.08.08)
To Danny 1973 was a disatrous failure for our intelligence systems and an initial then strategic victory for the Egyptians. Fact on the ground is that we've lost our land (Sinai) to them and they managed to deceive our so-called undefeatable intelligence at the time. I don't know what they teach you guys in Israel, but history books here say that Golda and Mosha were "devastated" and ran to the US screaming HELP, Isreal will be gone! Don't get me wrong, all I'm saying is that given 1973 and our recent miserable failure in Lebanon, I don't think that now is the right time to flex our muscles with the bunch of US slaves and clowns now running our army. God bless Sharon... do you think Mubarak would have dared to open his mouth if he was there?!! We need strong leadership to close the chapter and teach them one final lesson! Our idiots are afraid of a dying 80-year old man! I don't want a war led by THEM! It's too damn risky!
41. To #34 and 39, what drugs are u guys on?
Ari ,   UK   (01.08.08)
Thank you very much for reciting Mubarak's statements. He has turned all Egyptians now into parrots... Oh by the way, I wonder if you would ever be able to have a free conversation like this in any Egyptian media!! I hope you're enjoying your time! Quite a culture shock isn't it?
42. focus on Nasrallah
Dave ,   USA   (01.08.08)
Guys, I would focus on the threats you're getting from Nasrallah and leave the Egyptians alone... We'll deal with them... You just please watch what's happening in your backyard! You've left some "unfinished business" behind and it is now coming back to haunt you. Next time, PLEASE, wipe them out QUICKLY!!
