The article is very deceiving. The directive specifically states (article 3) that the directive does not apply to Palestinians "treated on the ground". Only to those transferred from Palestinian hospitals. So there is no racism against Palestinians for being Palestinian. The directive is aimed at Palestinian hospitals. Hospitals are known to harbor resistant bacteria so the directive makes sence. Palestinians are being transferred to Israeli hospitals to receive medical treatment, yet somehow that proves that Israel is racist. Dr. Tibi should be ashamed of himself. Apparently the irony and absurdity of his claim is lost on him.

The people who donate to MDA should know their money is used to help the enemies of Israel. We citizens of Israel should not have to foot the bill or have our hospitals filled up with the enemy. Finally tibi has no right to sit in the knesset. He never served in the I.D.F. No one Jew or arab who never served should sit in the knesset or any other position in the government.

They are an independent people who want their own state. Therefore they should be treated by Palestinian ambulences going to Palestinian hospitals.

Dr. Tibi is right about this. Hospitals for Palestinians are no more at risk than those for Israelis, or Americans, or any other people group. They are ALL a concern because of the antibiotic-resistant organisms (MRSA, VRE) and other nasty bugs (Klebsiella, proteus). MDA should routinely wear gloves and disinfect the ambulances after EVERY transport, no matter of whom.

Last I heard, Tibi was an Israeli citizen and qualifies to be a member of Knesset. Same as all the Jews in the Knesset who have no military service. Go learn about democracy, and then read the laws of the land (yea, the land of Israel). If you don't like the laws that say any citizen can run for Knesset (ok, no nasty previous convictions allowed), then why not form your own fascist arab and jew hating party and make Israel a military state... you can change your name to something similar to Pervez Musharaf. Then you can close the newspapers you don't like and lock up all the opposition members too. And just to let you know, a recent traffic accident here in the Gush saw about a half dozen MDA ambulances and the local fire crew and IDF forces rush to help the victims of an Arab cab that rolled off the highway. None of us Jews out here complained at all. Just makes us better people for it.

As a paramedic you clean the vehicle after every call out. the duty of every paramedic is to preserve life. MDA paramedics do this. please dont try to make an issue out of this,

Paul, When you are confronted with an enemy that seeks your destruction, sends suicide bombers, stabs, kidnaps, and shoots at friends and family, after enough casualties one loses his idealism and pursues the cold reality of survival. I would suggest that you come to Israel and spend some time in Sderot or other places to learn the situation on the ground and not in your ivory tower in USA.
