it seems that you forgot were you are living and there are all kinds of people in this country not just religious -harediim in ISREAL. I APPLAUDE THE COURTS DECISION . if it was a private bus company, they can do what they want BUT its not,its public bus company sponsored by the government. thats how things work in democratic countries

they obviously have their backs to the women...duh. The Halacha is specifically designed to protect women so that men would not at best sexually discriminate against them etc. I somehow doubt that your "orthodox by the way..." I'm not even going to reply to the likes of semper #13 -- as usual these sorts of vilifying articles bring out the usual hate filled bigots. I don't understand the problem - there are buses for the main stream secular public which cover all the same routes... there is something thats caters to all sections of the population. A person has the right to chose between the two. Why would a secular person...especially a reform Jew chose to specifically board a bus which caters for the Haredi population and purposly sit in the mens section...accept to stir up controvesy which spins into the usual outright vilification of the religious and Judiasm as a whole. Its the type of intolerant hatred and bigotry that could at best also be described as "fundamentalist."

Please avoid using blogging practices like the psyquiatrist's couch. We, other talkbackers, are not all certified shrinks with the capacity of answering such loony talkbaks. FYI in biblical times and others, that kind of death penalty was unheard of, even though a "posibility". No one really wanted to use it. So even though adulterous women did exist, I guess, never heard of a psak like that. Sorry to dissapoint you.

Joseph P. you have it all turned around in that empty head of yours. Its time that you and your brothers and sisters leave Israel to Countries where they practice your type of human rights or i should say lack of human rights, countries like Afganastan, Iran and others. I noticed not once in your talk back you call the country you live in Israel but rather the "Jewish Country" its no secret that your people dont see this country as Israel but rather as Jewish state. Your leaving in some sick dream, allowing you to steal and cheat from the very people that feed you and your kids. You are truly an embaracement to the country and you will leave.

These lines exist because there s a demand for this service and since if the hareidim opt out of the public bus lines everyone's service will suffer. Personally I would not take one of these lines. Why shouldn't I be able to sit next to my wife or daughters, and I am disgusted by the reported acts of intimidation. Still, either the public will have to increase the subsidy on public transport to counter a hareidi boycott of the mixed lines or allow the existence of some number of segregated lines as a compromise.
36. #34 Eretz Yisrael, a.k.a. Israel, IS the JEWISH COUNTRY
Joseph P. ,   JewRusalem   (01.15.08)
Just like England is for English people, and France for French, etc., so is Israel for Jewish people. Others may live here too, just like non-English may reside in England and non-French may reside in France. Given that you're probably not Jewish because stating that Israel is the JEWISH COUNTRY offends you, why don't you move to the country of your nationality where you'd fit right in?
37. 22 The word abomination is translated from a Hebrew
Rivkah   (01.15.08)
word that is just as strong. It is an abomination to the Lord for a woman to wear that which pertains to a man and for a man to wear that which pertains to a woman. Since it is such an important thing to the Lord for this not to happen, it is critical to find out exactly what that means. You make light of this and think insulting one of God's children is a joke. It is not me you insult, but God who sent me. Read the prophet Zechariah's book in the Bible to see what he says will happen to Israel before the Messiah comes: two-thirds of Israelis will die and one third will be protected by the Lord supernaturally near Petra. Sound to me like you will not be among the third who are supernaturally protected unless you start reading the Bible and become part of God's family.
