1. Unfortunately, when those early elections come ...
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (01.17.08)
Israel will still be saddled with its dysfunctional electoral system. Given its party-mediated system, there is no ultimate accountability. So the "hacks" are still in charge. Still, it's a given that Kadima will be weakened and Olmert will be gone, so that's something to look forward to. The latest Azure has an interesting article by Amotz Asa-El on Israel's current system; it makes clear why political reform is so essential. http://www.azure.co.il
2. Report could topple gov't.

Let's hope so.

DAVID ,   JUDEA   (01.17.08)
The fact that Olmert himself appointed these people is telling enough. Nothing will change this is just a attempt to mislead us to think that there is a democratic process here in Israel. Olmert and his gang will not leave but hang on to this very corrupt political system with the help of the courts and a deceiving media apparatus in place. They will only go when the people who control this state will start to feel it in their pocketbooks.

This dictatorial government has only been self-serving. It should resign at once, without reservation. Clever lawyers try to defend a client who they know is guilty if only to make money and not because of justice. WHAT IS JUSTICE???

Thanks. This is the clearest description of the dysfunctional Israeli political system I have ever read as well as a great analysis of various forms of representative gov't. No one interested in politics should miss reading this.
12. David #3, I second your thought. The only choice then to

overthrow this government would be civil war.
13. as they say in redneck country "git er done"
Pete ,   Bat Yam   (01.17.08)
enough agony with dragging this out so long, olmert is under so many criminal investigations, he has a convicted sex offender as vice(now that is fitting isn't it) premier, so many MKs under investigation, the lowest popularity rating, millions of shekels in damage to Jewish homes, a teacher's strike, Leiberman quitting and now finally Winograd report. Maspik! Dai ! Chalas! Ehud k. Olmert will you PLEASE go HOME!
14. let Dan Gillerman be PM... and we shall have peace.

16. Winograd Report
Brod ,   USA   (01.17.08)
This report should pave the way for a election of a new government that can protect and defend the nation from the unrelenting rocket attacks from Hamastan as well as other external threats and aggressions.
17. In Winograd I trust
perla   (01.23.08)
to finally remove the lousy and unworthy PM from office , so help us God.
