Hmmm. A fence. Everybody ought to have a fence. Good neighbors and all that kind of thing. How come no one in Israel ever thought of building a fence before? Wait! They did? They built one? Well I for one, am dead certain that worked out to everyone's satisfaction, huh? There were no legal or political challenges to that, and that after it's completion everyone found that it worked out really, REALLY well. Wait! Oh. Never mind. Carry on. I'll be in the area all day. How will this fence prevent tunnels ? And how will it prevent Egyptians from helping the Islamofascists use these tunnels ? I welcome all ideas.

Leon, of course a fence cannot give 100% protection yet it sure helps. Can you imagine the border with Gaza if we did not have a fence there? As for tunnels, there has only been a few instances of tunnels under the Gaza fence. Right now the Sinai desert is open and drugs, illegal aliens, prostitutes and terrorists are able to get into Israel. If the fence can cut this down by 99% , then its well worth it!
