This does not make sense to me. Granted, I am only a Conservative Jew married to a woman who converted to Judaism before we married and raising 3 Jewish daughters so far. Rabbi Lior needs to encourage the practive of Mitzvot, not the prevention of them.

Reform Judaism is not Judaism! If you don't want to observe, then be like me and don't observe. But no need to pervert our tradition.

Reform doesn't seek to "amend certain facets of Judaism" (as if Judaism were broken!), it claims that Torah is not from Hashem and is not binding. That's not "amending," it's "throwing out the window." Christians believe in more of Rambam's articles of faith than Reform does.

a sopher should not sell torah scrolls to a church because it is a desecration. similarly they should not sell to reform temples. the case for not selling is even stronger in israel than in the US. in the US most reform are not their out of any conviction, this is simply all they know and they are simply ignorant. in israel, there is no such argument. all who go there are responsible for all that reform is.

It is known that Reform congregations in Israel are much more traditional than their counterparts outside the country.

He didn't prevent the scribe from selling holy objects to INDIVIDUAL Jews, who happen to go to a Reform temple. He forbad the scribe to sell to the OFFICIAL REFORM TEMPLE. He is against revisionist Judaism as an institution.

And Reform does throw out halacha as binding which is a fundamental principle of Orthodox Judaism. So what's the fuss?

For all of you who had jumped the gun, you fell into the ynet trap. For one, the headline does not quite reflect this article. In the article it states that "the scribe should not get involved with the congregation at all so as not to be “privy to a transgression or sin”. " This goes to say that it would be forbiddin to sell to the establishement of the reform synogogues. (whom are not recognized as a kosher sect of judaism accross the orthodox board) This is not to say that, as it is stated in the headline "Don't sell mezuzahs to Reform Jews". Of course the individual Jew has the privlage of performing mitzvot. The establishment is the problem, according to my understanding of rav lior.

It has been the position of ALL REAL RABBIS FOR AT LEAST 55 YEARS! Reforms are Jews for the extinction of Judaism and the Jewish People into assimilation. OVER TWELVE MILLION JEWS WERE LOST ONLY IN THE US IN THE LAST 60 YEARS BEACUSE OF THE REFORM!

Don't make me laugh, Bill. What - reform synagogues are not institutions? We all know perfectly well, that now if someone does approach a scribe subscribing to Lior's philosophy, he won't be able to get anything fixed either... And afterwards, with the continuing "holier than thou" phenomenon getting stronger among haredi, soon enough no haredi scribe will be willing to do this. Not to mention that such, allows Torahs tfillin to remain with mistakes, which is certainly not a good thing for anyone!

a person is a Jew who is a Jew in his/her heart. Someone who is outwardly a Jew and inwardly is not, is not a Jew in his/her heart to the Lord. Circumcision is of the heart. If someone is a Jew in his/her heart, then the person is a Jew regardless of bloodline. A Jew in the heart WITH a Jewish bloodline has a greater blessing.
