1. Now is the time
Avi ,   Israel   (01.24.08)
to seal off permanetly, like for ever, like with massive earth dunes, the border between us and Gaza and make it a defacto part of Egypt And thank you Gaza, it was nice to see you, goodbye and don't call us again.
2. Gaza is part of Egypt
Roberto ,   Chile   (01.24.08)
Gaza never was an independient state. Was picked from Egypt in 1967, then must be returned to them.
3. Let gaza get everythinng from egypt
jack bauer   (01.24.08)
Israel has no obligation whatsoever to give the terrorists hamas and there terror supporting electorate ANYTHING ALL THE BORDERS between Israel and gaza should be CLOSED FOREVER
4. Hamas laughing all the way
Yannis Kareklas ,   Athens Greece   (01.24.08)
Hamas members are laughing up to their ears, they scored a big win over Israel ,Europe and the free world. Hamas act was all staged and the fools fell in the trap. Bravo Hamas.
5. Gaza
Jake ,   Us   (01.24.08)
So, now gaza is Egypt's responsibility. Israel is mostly out...patrol the sea and air and borders along Israel. Let Egypt feed them... and police Gaza. It will much more strongly than Israel, and more repressively.
6. How many of them quit Gaza for good?
Nora   (01.24.08)
Out of the 300.000 Palestinians that left Gaza through Rafiah Gate how many of them would quit Gaza once and for all, and how many of them are anti-Hamas?
7. A Silver Lining?
Jose' ,   Israel   (01.24.08)
Mubarak emerges as a "good guy". Israel remains the "bad guy". Hamas has demonstrated that it can take care of the Gazans better than anyone else, especially the PA. They have reinforced , however the nascent notion that perhaps it should remain a permanent condition and that Arab Palestine should consist of two Arab states, one Hamas and one PA. Israel could come to terms with the PA and continue to remain hostile to Hamas. No serious analyst considers Gaza an existential threat to Israel only a pain the butt.
8. Egypt help Israel that's a laugh
Hilda ,   US   (01.24.08)
So Israel--have you got the message yet? The Egyptian peace treaty is just paper thin. The Gazans are mostly Egyptians anythway and only called themselves Palestinians because Arafat--also an Egyptian told them to. When Sharon issued his disengagement order to Israelis in Gaza that meant disengagement. Israelis moved out but Israel foolishly felt responsible for the welffare of the Palestinain/Egyptians. So now is the time to sever all ties. If Israelis had to give up their beautiful homes, their lucrative businesses and their free and lovely form of living then that's it Israel has no more responsiblity not for electricity or other forms of energy which helps Hamas to continue sending missiles which one day could cause terrible catastropohes and today causes trauma to Israelis living on the border. Let Egypt take responsibility for them . Gaza is t not Israel it is part of Egypt and like the Sinai which was returned previously is not to be another terror state of Palestine. Next Israel should keep what it wants from Samaria and leave the rest to Jordan.
9. #3 WTG Jack
meg ,   Israel   (01.24.08)
I agree with you. Let Egypt have them, always hoped they would ask for Gaza back, they never did, but now they can have it! All you who see this as hamas victory...oh dear what fools you are! lol
10. #1 Now is time
Simon ,   London   (01.24.08)
Avi is right. Not only is it time to seal off the border for good, Israel should cut off all fuel and elecrticity supplies. They need to do this before Egypt can close off the its border with Gaza. That way they can create a defacto re-incopration of Gaza to Egypt where it belongs.
11. It actually marks return of Egypt's migraine headaches!
Jack ,   San Diego, USA   (01.24.08)
12. Egypt and the Arab refugees problem.
Harold Lane ,   Tel Aviv   (01.24.08)
It would be fair for Egypt to be the first Arab country to take its part in the historical responsibility of the Arab refugees problem and help to solve it by accepting the Gazan Arabs into its country and integrating them. That would be the beginning of the return back home to the countries they came from in the 19th and 20th centuries,of the Arabs living west of the Jordan. That would give a chance of peace to the region. As to the Arab refugee problem, the Arabs that left 60 years ago, in order to be correctly informed about what happened read : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2007/12/arab-leaders-caused-refugee-problem.html
13. How Wonderful
Yessir Ibn Badkarma ,   Kanwait   (01.24.08)
What a golden opportunity for Israel. Lock the doors, continue the siege, no deliveries of anything, and let the Gazans continue to stream in and out of Egypt. Mubarak ,the fool, shot himself in the foot and now Israel should make him bleed and bleed a lot. Payback is a bitch.
14. Are you so stupid?
Itzik ,   Haifa   (01.24.08)
You are all wrong. Gaza must be liberated. Egypt is sending ,perhaps, 3-4 million Muslem brotherhood members to gaza to fight the enemy (Israel). Forget about electricity and other silly suff. Now the long range missiles will be in Gaza with 2 million suicidal gangs.
15. Absolutely.
Maxim ,   Toronto   (01.24.08)
Cut off all contacts and treat it as any other nation would when attacks originate beyond their borders - massive retaliation.
16. for those who think wrong
abu mahjan ,   gaza   (01.24.08)
sharon or another leader in israel once saaid that settlement in gaza are part of israel ,nay , he moreoer described these settlements as compared to of tel aviv ....now i wonder how cod u admitt gaza as part of egypt ...is not gaza part of your promised land ...??? yet if this happened and egypt took the borders a lone this will be a catastrophe for israel ...weapons will pour into the strip and hamas will be much stronger .....i agree israel is much more powerfull than any kind of hamas buty iam sure the frogs will annoy the elephant alot to the degree that he may consider the possibity of leaving the lake gaza
17. CLOSE THE BORDER HERMETICALLY !!!
Good riddens!   (01.24.08)
We said bye bye to Gaza ! They wanted independence from us "bad guys". So, now, no more "occupation", no more ANYTHING !!! Bye Bye Gaza foerever! Rot in your own shit ! LET YOUR ARAB BROTHERS HELP U !!!
18. Fools learn from mistakes. Wise men
Leonid ,   Toronto   (01.24.08)
learn from fools. Sharonchik told everyone that after his disengagement will be peace in our time. Don't believe the old Fool, unless you want to follow him. The war will start this summer.
19. # 12 - Historical Facts
Johannes ,   Berlin, Germany   (01.24.08)
Well, Harold Lane, please have a look into the facts. Egypt is not the Palestinians' home. It never has been their home. The Romans (not the Arabs!) destroyed the temple in Jerusalem and evicted the Jews from their homeland in the first century. The Arabs took over the land and started to settle there. The country you are calling your homeland was under Arab and Ottoman/Turkish control for almost 2000 years interrupted only by the short interregnum of the crusaders between the 11th and the 14th century. The Arabs did not move to Palestine in the 19th and 20th century, they are living there since the 1st century! I am not renouncing the Jewish claim for that land; I am fully aware of the fact that the Jews have their spiritual and cultural roots in Israel/Palestine. However, they don't have more rights than the Arabs to be there. This land is as Jewish as it is Arab. Both sides have to understand that and face each other at eye level. The Jews won't gain anything by establishing a de facto apartheid regime that is a democracy for the white European wealthy Jew and brutal, racist and militant towards all other ethnic and religious groups. The Arabs won't gain anything by blowing themselves in shops and restaurants and by firing rockets on civilians. Either you guys in the Middle East will understand that or the killing will go on infinitely.
20. #16 - abu mahjam
Mathew ,   NY   (01.24.08)
Interesting analogy, but to continue along that line, a technologically equipped 'elephant' may decide that he has better options against the frogs. Or maybe the frogs will leave if they can't find the resources they need, or maybe the elephants will just ignore the frogs. One thing for certain, is that frogs will never force and elephant to do anything, except maybe step on it. Think about it.
21. #16 - not Gaza is not a part of the promised land.
redmiike ,   TA - LA - London   (01.24.08)
Israel has been trying to get rid of Gaza since before camp David. The joke at that time was, 'we're giving Gaza to Egypt", the reply, "what are they getting in return?". he he he Egypt was smart and refused to take it. Mike
22. #20
abu mahjan ,   gaza   (01.24.08)
u mentioned the technologically equiped elephant but what about the technologically equipped frogs?and the elephant use now f16 to push frogs away ...how cod he ignore them when they became hizzbullah...all israel might coudnt defeat hizbullah ... while hizzbullah have very old equipment they shake israel ..think about it twice
23. #1, 10 - Well, said. - Force Defacto Egyptification NOW
Yochanon ,   Boston, USA   (01.24.08)
It's so simple. Give Egypt a document declaring Gaza theirs! Yes, that is helpful even when they refuse and trash it. More importantly - impose the new greater Egyptian border on the ground. Israel fully closes and seals the Israeli side - no electricity, fuel, water, ANYTHING! Hamas ensures fully open border with Egypt, their new source of .... EVERYTHING! Israel Wins! That's worth saying again.. Israel wins! B"H!!!

the elephant actually left the lake years ago...... hahahahaa
25. The fun begins
Observer ,   cairo, egypt   (01.24.08)
The corrupt Arab governments like Egypt and Saudi (including Fatah) are based on abusing poor Arabs to concentrate wealth in their hands. Al-Qaida, Hamas, Islamic Brotherhood are all organizations that fight corruption more than they fight Jews or the Western supporters of the corrupt Arab governments. Mubarak's days are numbered: breaking the wall between Gaza and Sinai allows Islamic Brotherhood to get weapons from Hamas. Soon the fun will begin. Once Mubarak is expelled, Jihad will spread with the help of the weapons the US supplied Egypt and Saudi supplied Hamas.
26. Just One Small Point to Ponder
Aharon ben Yitzhak   (01.24.08)
We have an agreement with Egypt for them to limit the number of troops in Sinai to 750. There are approx. 10,000 heavily armed terrorists in gaza. How can egypt control them?? I,m afraid that in a few weeks or at most months there will be large numbers of egyptian troops and tanks at the Erez Crossing. At that point Israel may not be congratulating itself on how they have gotten rid of the gazans.
27. Liberate Gaza
Amir ,   Beer Sheva   (01.24.08)
Gaza was always Jewish. Before Arab attack in 1967 the Arabs did have some 40 thousand people in Gaza, mostly people from Sudan, and other African tribes whom Egypt sent to Gaza after Jews were expelled in 1948 from Gaza. Jews must liberate Gaza and send Sudanise people back to Sudan. remember that Egypt wants to destroy Israel - that is the reason they send arms and people to Gaza. How Gaza Arabs get their weapons? From the sky? Don't be totally stupid.
28. #27 No! from the sea, because those are mostly Israeli!
observer   (01.24.08)
29. Israel stole PA tax money
Bilal ,   Leeds, UK   (01.24.08)
'The moment huge quantities of goods entered the Strip without coordinating it with Israel, all duty agreements were in fact breached'. Israel has been witholding tax revenues it collects on behalf of the PA after Hamas was democratically elected. You cant complain about an agreement (that was drawn up by Dahlan, a person who has no credibility with the Palestinians) that you dont commit to yourself. Sadly, this is just a small picture.
30. To Amir #27
Zeal ,   Zionist America   (01.24.08)
I just want to point out few things from the EXTREMELY erroneous post of yours: "Before Arab attack in 1967 the Arabs did have some 40 thousand people in Gaza" I wonder you got those statistics? Well they're completely wrong. The actual amount in '67 was between 700,000 to 1,000,000 people. Next: uh, 1967 was an Israeli pre-emptive attack, not an Arabic one. Not convinced? Here- educate yourself: General Ezer Weitzman, regarded as a hawk, said: there was 'no threat of destruction', but that the attack on Egypt, Jordan and Syria was nevertheless justified so that Israel could 'exist according the scale, spirit, and quality she now embodies.' Next: Menahem Begin remarked: 'In June 1967, we again had a choice. The Egyptian Army concentrations in the Sinai approaches do not prove that Nasser was really about to attack us. We must be honest with ourselves. We decided to attack him.' One more: Yitzhak Rabin said: "I do not think Nasser wanted war. The two divisions he sent to The Sinai would not have been sufficient to launch an offensive war. He knew it and we knew it." And by the way: when was the last time Jews inhabited Gaza to the point that they "always" owned it? Anytime in the last five hundred years?
