There are over 3900 grieving US families over the deaths of their sons and daughters in Iraq. Over 25,000 US personnel have been injured, many requiring decades of painful and invasive treatments. However, our gov't, supported by the Congress, wants victory of sorts in Iraq. The Republicans are for staying the course, the Democrats are for a defeat and withdrawal. We've spent 1trillion do date on this war, with no end in sight. Was the war worth it? Some say yes..others say no. Others say initially yes. Saddam was a major threat to world peace. Was 153 lives worth going after Hezbollah? What was accomplished should be the real question? Is Olmert really only responsible..or are many? What about Sharon, Mofaz, and the hands off policy re: Lebanon prior to? Was their negligence? How did US-Israeli politics, (and the UN) affect the outcome? Should Israel has invaded over 2 kidnapped soldiers, tragic as it was? Another 153 deaths...over the 2 captured..why? Should Israel undo this fiasco, and take out Hez using it's awesome power, the hell with the cease fire resolution? Where does Iran come into this, defying the same UN? The problem is complicated..and not easily resolved or blamed on anyone.

She will vote with Olmert play along to keep her slot in the party higherarchy. She will also do abit of tough talking now and again for the public make herself sound different but she doesnt stray so far that its going to upset Olmert to much. At the end of the day though politicly she is just a female Olmert who backs his policies and will follow in his footsteps once she has the top job. She has her part to play in most of Olmerts screw ups she didnt sit on the sidelines telling Olmert not to do theese things she is in it up to her neck same as Olmert she is just the behind the scenes player Olmerts the public face of the failures she is his partner in the failures.

FM Mrs. Livni has shown that she has empathy with and sympathy for these grieving families. For those of you who choose to be cynical and see her actions to meet with these families as merely a political move I truely feel sorry for you. As for me, I feel that her actions speak very well and ring true. Well done Mrs. Livni and thank you for your courageous actions.

Politics and governing are hard games to play. Players should be tough before they enter the stadium. Olmert's mistakes will soon be made painfully clear. Neither he nor his partner Levni should stay in office any longer having made tragic mistakes that were foreseeable had they been knowledgable enough, tough enough, and wise enough to have waged each part of the conflict to the best of their ability. Throw the bums out.

she already came out with a statement that ohlmert must resign. why is she still in his government??? she did not agree with his actions months ago. it just gives us additional proof that she is only interested in herself - her chair, her car, her title and the last thing that interests her is the country. if she had character she would have resigned when she critiicized ohlmert a long time ago. but the lady is parve and has no personalitiy at all. she is only good at blow drying her hair every morning.
