Soldier steals from Palestinians 'because of Gilad Shalit'     Hanan Greenberg
1. What a dummy
He should have kidnapped the family and held them hostage under the same conditions as Shalit is being held till Shalit is released! And NO they can not be considered civilians, all of Gaza are combatants, they all have weapons to use against Jews and would use them if they had the chance to!

2. Hypocrites
This is a joke.I quote article" the soldier violated one of the most imortant moral values, the prohibition to take the enemies property". The state of Israel has done exactly that, stolen all of the enemies property, their land, farms & houses, yet dares to judge this soldier.Anyway one of the incentives of war throughout the ages for the soldiers of the victors has been the looting of the defeated enemies wealth. So whats the point of this article in any case. The Israeli government is using the soldier to create a smoke screen to hide its own looting, i really wonder who then---should be on trial here. Moral of the story is quite simple, to the victors go the spoils of war, including the soldiers rights to his spoils, or is he being prosecuted because he didnt share his"huge" loot with the government?

3. at least the soldiers like each other and that's a plus
they also wouldn't be killing people if the terrorists weren't trying to steal their land and raining rockets on em that's why they're called the israeli DEFENSE force(IDF)...

4. It is very important such an act to be punished.
Yes,we are all humans, and temptations can arrive to anyone, but that's why we have the most important set of laws and values that have molded the whole civilizaded world ,and it must be followed(the Parshah of this week is Mishpatim, coincidently). I feel proud of Israel ,knowing it keeps such values as principles that must be followed. Kol hakavod to the Army, and the boy must learn not to repeat this.

6. #2 Lets talk about hypocrites, "Paul"
from Mongolia? Sure. Uh huh. Lets conveniently forget every crime the Arabs have ever comitted against Jews and Israel. Let's conveniently forget the Grand Mufti who worked with Hitler. Let's conveniently forget that Israel GAVE GAZA BACK to the Pals. It is YOU who are the hypocrite, to conveniently ignore one half of the story to judge the other. You even lie about where you're from. Worse than a liar - you're a moral coward.

7. Get serious a review of firefighting...
...in Israel is needed. It is a club in Israel not a job. I have seen them at work and they have risked and probably have lost lives because they don't fight fires correctly. The same is true about the ambulance drivers. Now this guys thinks he can steal? Certainly it is petty theft, but he should be fired as an example. The last thing we need is the other firefighters being attacked when they come to save lives because someone wanted a pizza at one time. Firefighting is a very critical service and very dangerous. The last thing a firefighter needs is to be fighting a fire inside the house wondering if the people outside will attack and cut of his lifeline. This happened in the LA Riots where pumper trucks were taken while men were in burning structures dependant on the water. As an inner city firefighter in a busy US station, I know what it was like to have the locals shoot at us. you have to watch your back. I have seen people do things more deploarble than to have a picture of a kidnapped soldier. If the firefighter cannot maintain control because he wants a pizza, he should not be trusted to save lives or to enter into peoples homes when they are most vulnerable. Is this the first time or has he done it before and not gotten caught? Has he done it to non-arabs? Let him go and refill the position.

13. Paul, less TV!
You don't have an idea what you are talking about. You just repeat a lot of the garbage you see on the media but it's obvious you are only an echo and don't have an opinion of yourself. People should read lots more serious works on everything before giving their opinions. And believe me, this conflict is sooooo full of urban legends, lies and half truths. Just go for two months to Israel before giving such an opinion and see things for yourself if you don't want to read something serious other than 7pm news.

15. Hypocrisy
There is something sick about lawyers "serving" in the "Military Prosecution" in the fleshpots of Tel Aviv condemning a hero living in constant danger, who does not eat or sleep enough. The fact is, he gave the money back so no crime was commited. Amusing is the "Military Prosecution" talking about values. After the destruction of Gush Katif there was widespread looting of Gush Katif property by Sharon's forces and by the moving companies of Yonatan Bassi. Apparently the "Military Prosecution" sees nothing wrong in looting when the victim is a Jew.
