We are captives of a clique of corrupt political hacks running an unaccountable non-responsive system for their own narrow interests. No honour, no sense of national duty or obligation, just self-interest. And as a people, we deserve no better - we have become apathetic, alienated from our political system, oblivious to consequences, & self-absorbed. When I look at our political elites, the party system, I see Meretz, Labour, Kadima, Shas, Likoud & I am disgusted beyond my ability to express.

WHAT WERE THE GOALS??? freeing the captives? WHERE ARE THEY THEN????? the leaders did not set proper goals for the military to accomplish. So how can you blame the soldiers who dont want to die for nothing? I wouldnt want to die for olmert and ramon.....when they would both soon be expelling my family from Judea/Samaria. It seems these scum can set goals when it comes to attacking jews in Israel, but when it comes to terrorists and their supporters...... they give in, and accomplish nothing And then to top it all off, wiggle out of any blame, dodging all responsibility

They certainly did not vindicate Olmert. Now we we to have an independent comission with the power to indict and let's see what they have to say, instead of Olmert cronies.

Ramon can go to hell trying to absolve Olmert when winograd itself was picked to kiss his rear end. Ramon was convicted of forcing a woman to kiss him, so what the hell does he know about anything. Winograd screwed up, got into a long discussion of methodology. The point is Hezbollah had dug in booby- trapped bunkers in nature areas surrounded on all sides which cannot be taken out by air or normal ground forces. Winograd misses this. By the way, Winograd is not expert in war tactics. IDF has to use asymmetric tactics. However Olmert, the leader boasted, bragged, was indecisive and didn't know what he was doing. At the end, not enough time was alotted to the IDF. Israel will lose the next skirmish unless Olmert is replaced. Winograd took 18 months and did israel a disservice by issuing a process report. It should have been bottom-lined and named failures like Olmert, Peretz, Halutz, Kaplinski, livni, ramon, mofaz among others.
