I am an Egyptian, and let me tell you, Egyptians are not happy with what is happening in Sinai, especially as Hamas members have been attacking our soldiers and are planning terrorist attacks in Sinai. However, Egypt is in a difficult position, it can use violence and kick the Plaestinians out, but it will be attacked by almost everyone as it is kicking out a people who are in need, and once again the stupid actions of Hamas will be felt only be the civilians.

They have the option to demand Hamas abandon its campaign of terror as an instrument of political policy or any policy. They have the option to demonstrate their remorse at their actions on September 11th 2001. When the World Trade Centre was burning there were tens of thousands of Palestinians dancing in the streets, chanting slogans against America and burning the American national flag. They were celebrating the attacks on America. The Palestinian people have the option to demonstrate publicly for relations based on cooperation for peace, not confrontation for holy war. They have the option of the Two State solution. But they must reach out for it non violently. They have the option to be an example of humanity to all Arab nations. But they must become a free democracy before they will have the freedom to do so. They have the option to free themselves of terrorism and plots to murder people. They have the option to speak to Hezbollah and implore Hezbollah to abandon its war against Israel because this compromises Palestinian hopes for freedom and independence. Palestinians have many many options open to them. When will they choose these options?
