31. It should be a province
Juan ,   Spain   (02.02.08)
This is a natural development, it could have happened 50 years ago, there would have been no fake refugee crisis. Gaza must be to Egypt as AndalucĂa is to Spain.
32. let the arab world finally do something helpful
jared ,   orlando US   (02.02.08)
considering all these decades, the arab world has done squat, happy to hear it. Since hamas and the pals are utterly inept and hate-consumed, and thus unable to build a country themselves, a surrogate in the form of egypt would be best. If it can stabilize the territory , absolutely Israel would likely welcome this
33. Isrel can now hold Egypt responsible for attack from Gaza
Charlie   (02.02.08)
The are now responsible for the explosive material that gets into Gaza.
34. Good That's what I want also
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (02.02.08)
Good That's what I want also
35. Jordan should Take over, Not PA
Mark ,   Boston   (02.02.08)
Jordan would do a better job running the West Bank then the corrupt inept PA! Gaza wants to be independent from Egypt. Now they can have their own state.
36. This was planned to get UN peacekeepers
Mark ,   USA   (02.02.08)
Livni and Abbas both wanted International PeaceKeepers. They had to find a reason to make it happen. They used the chaos in Gaza to make their goal happen! Now Hamas wants International Monitors. Saudi Arabia must have coordinated this!
37. what they are talking is rather..
YA ,   UK   (02.02.08)
..Sinai transformed into Egyptian Kashmir or Wazirisrtan, or Hezbollahstan - the large "resistance" dominated area, well connected to Iranian "help" and de facto supported by Egyptian state. Hamas found that EU is not enthusiastic enough as terrorist sponsors, they just want to be better supplied.. So, another level of hostility is still an option, everything depends on Egyptians, and Iranians indeed.
38. Great news. Let the Arabs look after their own.
Stephanie ,   Israel   (02.02.08)
39. Boats fromIran can land arms onSiniCoastline when convenient
Alan ,   SA   (02.02.08)
40. this ends all ideas of a connected Gaza and West Bank :-)
redmiike ,   TA - LA - London   (02.02.08)
and probably an end to the pretend peace talks between two powerless people - Abbas and Olmert! MIke
41. 21- there can only be hudnas with Islam not peace!
redmiike ,   TA - LA - London   (02.02.08)
and a hudna only benefits Islam. There is common knowledge so it appears that you are well meaning but without any real understanding of Islam. Its leaders make its intentions 100% clear - aren't you listening or is it more comfortable not to! http://hudna.notlong.com If you have a further 20 minutes .. http://formerjihadist.notlong.com http://blindfaiths.notlong.com MIke
42. Egypt Loses Pride, That's All
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (02.03.08)
The settlements in the Strip, were silly and bound to end in disaster., we all have found out. Egypt's supplying it with utilities, won't have any impact on the 2 state solution. Let's not fool ourselves. Hamas will still play Abbas off, and Abbas will play Hamas. Israel will keep trying to play both. 2 states mean 2 states..one Jewish, the other Arab. I'm wondering how this will impact Israel's revenues? Were the sales a gift? Included will be open borders (with Egypt) allowing all kinds of smuggling, direct and covert. Israel gains and loses, like everything else. Israel's mistake: threatening miniscule boycotts..ineffective at best. Again, the Arabs have outmaneuvered Israeli leaders. Nothing comes on the cheap over there. A road between Gaza and W. BK is still a long way off. Egypt loses nothing..except a little pride. Remember, it has 90m people..and the largest M.E. army besides. I don't agree with the posters this time.
43. Why does Ynet refuse to post innocuous comments?
(02.03.08)
They will post any chump with a dissenting opinion, no matter how illiterate. Yediot: in my native tongue, this sounds like "you idiot:" truly lives up to its name.
44. Cancel Palestine, Create peace.
David ,   Boston, USA   (02.03.08)
This is good. Gazans are Egyptians anyway. Let them look to Cairo for government, electricity, economics. If this isnt enough for the Gazans and they dont stop boming Israel, OBLITERATE Gaza. They have a choice, a future or oblivion. I dont care which they pick, but Israel has suffered enough from waiting for them to pick.
45. In america the J*ws are the Palisteinians RIGHT ???
M. S. ,   mpls america   (02.03.08)

46. Egypt and Jordan Peace Treaties #41
Mark ,   Boston   (02.03.08)
These Treaties have been honored by both countries. A cold Peace. A very cold Peace but no war!
47. Hizballah/Israel Cease Fire
Mark ,   Boston   (02.03.08)
Hizballah has honored the cease fire. The UNIFL is helpful. Before the war, there was Monthly Fighting.
48. #41 An International Peackeeping Force
Mark ,   Boston   (02.03.08)
This is needed and does work. Not Perfect but it beats war!
49. Tactical retreat
Sheppard   (02.03.08)
In military tactics, disengagement may means a tactical retreat before someone else is starting to get a next, large scale assault by someone else.
50. #47, are you on crack?
Danny   (02.03.08)
UNIFIL is completely and utterly useless. It is widely recognised as incompetent and impotent both against Hizbollah - and also Israel - the only people who would miss UNIFIL are the drug dealers and prostitutes. The one simple reason there is less fighting - you are wrong to say they have "honored" the ceasefire - and that is because Hizbollah - and most of South Lebanon - had the crap kicked out of it in the war.
