31. racist???
Tzohar ,   Jerusalem   (02.03.08)
1. What is the devorce rait of the seculer? And what is the devorce rate of the religes? The overall divorce rate for Seculer Jews in Israel is at 38% and rising –“The Orthodox divorce rate of between 5-10% is a crisis” http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=173889 2. Do you know how many Kosher busses (402) go to Bnei Barak? (1=5-10Min) http://www.egged.co.il/Eng/ 3. do you know how many kosher busses are used to get to Meron on Lag-Beomer
32. I travel with 'kosher' buses every day...
Daniel Breslauer ,   Jerusalem   (02.03.08)
And I'll tell you something. It occurs WAY more often that the *men's* side is full, than that the *women's* side is full. Try to take Jerusalem buses 40 or 56 on busy hours. You'll see that often the men's side is completely full and many men are standing, while the women's side is almost empty! Now that's REAL discrimination! *cough* All of you haters just want another reason to complain about the mere existence of us, chareidim. You don't know your facts and judge things based on FALSE articles full of lies.
33. What's the problem?
Yehuda ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.03.08)
I don't understand why there are so many people who are bothered by these Kosher buses. If there are other buses along all of these routes, these Kosher buses don't interfere with your' lives at all. So what difference does it make if there are Kosher buses? And to all you people who are saying these buses are a disgrace to women: These buses are the most respectful things for women. And the women sit in the back of the bus 'cause all the men don't have to stare at them the whole time!
34. segregated buses
Stan ,   Toronto, Canada   (02.03.08)
No wonder I consider religion sick.
35. STOP BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE !!!
Yehuda ,   Jerusalem   (02.03.08)
I am a secular Jew with 2 qualities above all other secular Jews, that is: understanding and respect for others. Let those that prefer Kosher buses have them, terrorists have their own car bombs on our roads, there is room for all of us.
36. In reality, the left's problem is with purity and holiness
Avraham ,   NYC   (02.04.08)
that's intrinsic to the Jewish people. They use all sorts of pretexes to try to uproot these fundamentals of our people but won't succeed in the end!
37. to hilda usa
mareya ,   jerusalem   (02.04.08)

38. #4 You forget yourself
Josh   (02.04.08)
If your the same Simon from Tel Aviv that posted in favor of the gay parade then, you would be all for keeping the women out. It eliminates your competition, after all. Abpaqcharin quit making up aliases.
39. ..and Israel wandered 40 years carrying machizahs...
Josh   (02.04.08)
...and large bags of salt for koshering. In addition, they had two separate mules for carrying dishes for meat or milk. They tried hunting but its was difficult to get the schecter in close enough to make a good kosher preparation of the animal. Again groups were created some with certificates and some without. They had to turn back to the sea of reeds and all dip in the waters three times saying incantations to convert. They must have for "your were gereem in mtzriam". It would have been usefull to have the Rabbis there because everybody wasn't sure how to help Moses with a speach impediment for saying the required incantaions. There was a slight delay one day and many were lost to the heat of the dessert as the Hebrews encountered a strong wind that swept their kippahs away. Many were left behind and we still don't know if they're standing there today waiting for someone to pass by with a kippah. For as we learn, it is forbidden to walk more than three feet without a kippah. Some specualste from this incident the creation of the hair clip was created. There was also an undocumented incident where a kippah was lost when a Hebrew lost his mind trying to boil a chicken in his mothers milk, but couldn't figure out who was the mother and how to milk her. This would not have happened if the rabbinic "fences" had existed. Three times in their history almost all the cows were slaughtered, as the Hebrews needed the leather to make the tephilin boxes. They tried it two times earlier but they could not figure out how to bind the exodus itself in a box nor the redemption of the first born. They couldn't also figure out how to get all the words of Torah in a little box, so the settled on three passages. Lucky thing as they were running out of cows. Especially since one group started making their kippahs out of leather. Lastly they all needed to re-convert and another large mikvah was created as unfortunately there were no Rabbis present at the first conversion plus none had authentic orthodox paper work to prove they were Jews. In addition, the black hats and heavy black suites proved useful in the high heat of the dessert but as deodorant was not available the machizahs were made thicker and taller by the women. Yes this is the story of the Rabbinic legacy. NOT! Enough with idiocy, return to real Torah.
40. why not have men & women on seperate sides
jack bauer ,   let them be   (02.04.08)
rather then front and back if its a private company why not let them do whatever they like? if you dont like the idea....just dont take their bus what a bunch of ferals getting involved in something you dont/wont even use anyhow it seems ok for people to promote their own views, but when it comes to a view they dont like.....well then uproar ensues I couldnt care less if there is a haredi bus.....I wont be on it any time soon..... but ynet loves to make a mountain out of a haredi molehill I say let them do what they like I dont want people telling me what to do, so I will try and keep out of their affairs in turn
41. Israel becoming more and more Arab
Hiram ,   Paris   (02.04.08)
Israel is becoming more and more like an Arab country....and this has nothing to do with Gaza or Arab population growing up . It has something to do with the mentality and the dependance of successive governments on religious factions. Israel cannot consider itself a democracy if it allows segregation. SHould segregation take place on public transports, Israel will be just like SAudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran and others, submitted to religious dictatorship by bearded idiots of all kind.....This is yet an other reason why things need to change.....And again , to the risk of being unpleasant to Joseph P < Please let me know if there is any secular country in Europe implementing sex segregation in public transports.... I do believe that for religious people, the only difference between them and our " Islamist " cousins is simply the colour of the eyes ! Same s..... in lieue of brain !
42. Kosher buses, no pure 'traif'
Eli ,   Israel   (02.04.08)
These buses may make the local ayatollas feel pure, but they are putting us back into the primitive dark ages. Women are equal to men in all things and should be treated so. This is one more nail in the coffin of a free democratic society. And, of course, we can expect nothing from the government in defense of our personal liberties. The rabbis and their minions won't allow that, it might upset the applecart and then the MK's won't necessarily continue to collect their inflated salaries.
43. Nonsence article
Miriam ,   Israel   (02.04.08)
Once again Ynet is charedi bashing. I am a non charedi, and I don't feel threatened or any less of a woman by using separate seating busses. This may not be my cup of tea, but if the bus gets me from Point A to Point B that's all I care about. Our courts have much more important matters to rule about than this nonsence.
44. To # 43
Hiram ,   Paris   (02.04.08)
Democracy is the ruling of a nation through a system allowing "Demos" to express its wishes......at this time, things are becoming Arabized in Israel , and this is not to the country's honour ! And Yes, the courts will be busy pretty soon , especially with the vast money laundering affair shaking the french and Israeli banking system ! Nevertheless, You may not care about segregation, but I am convinced that the vast majority of Israeli women care about it , in the same fashion they care about being beaten by their husbands, or deprived of exercing their freedom of choice.......Just like an arab country I said ! A mollah remain a mollah, regardless of which side he is sitting ! And by the way, when do we start stoning adulterous women ?
45. Another post that will be censored...
Jonas ,   SAD   (02.04.08)
You got to decide what do you want: do you want to employ teocrachy state od democracy? For bit by bit, you ARE going in teocratic direction. If you employ full teocracy, O.K., then you have the power even to ban churches, forbid practicing of other, idolatric, religions, etc. BUT! DO NOT RAISE YOUR VOICE IF OTHER STATE, let's say christian state, MAKES THE SAME, and decides to expel Jews based on premises of reciprocity (You forbid Christianity, they forbid Judaism) and on base of New Testament.
46. Saying No to Kosher Buses
Bonnie ,   Israel   (02.04.08)
So the Haredi and ultra orthodox men are freely admitting that they cannot control their sexual urges. and thay is why they want segrated buses, that is baloney, if a secular man can control their urges why can't the religious man, who is suposed to be above such things? Stop trying to subjudaicate women with such nonsense, after all did not a woman give birth to you? Didn't Gd create us all in his image, and loved just the same by Gd?
47. Oh my God!!!
iI ,   jerusalem   (02.04.08)
Scandal! The sky is falling!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Such fun to watch the anti religious lefite kvetches with too much time on their hands get a bee in the bonnet. So the sacred cow Supreme Farce ignored your stupid claims? Must be Friedman destroying democracy. In Jerusalem, these buses run fully loaded thru primarily Haredi densely populated neighborhoods where they are the CAPITAL M Majority. Scary huh? There are always other buses to take, and Eged is not losing anything on it either . It is not the least bother to them, why does it bother you? Get a life, and try to have some more babies.
48. I really wish
Roli ,   miami beach, Fl   (02.05.08)
There was a rollover or something so that I could view the original Hebrew article in a pop-up. I love to read Ynet but its not hi-tek enough for an Israeli site.
49. # 39 & 40 , two goyim comment
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.07.08)
one attacks the Rabbanim , the other everything that is not his business . Two goyim putting their noose in Jewish affairs .
50. Joseph P.
Yerach ,   Jerusalem,Israel   (02.08.08)
Actually Mexico started having seperates buses for men & women on certain lines because of men groping women & it was the women themselves requested it. Even though I myself am religious I do not care either way, however I think those that want such arrangement should hire a private company rather forcing it on public transportation. No gadol of the last generation mandated such a practice, ipso facto it is unecessary!!!! If however groping became a problem like it is in Mexico then it makes total sense to impliment such buses.
51. Haredi,Schmaredi--Secular,Schmecular
chop-chop   (12.03.08)
We are aware that women are considered " schmates " in the haredi " milieu ".My suggestion would be for them to move to Iran, Packistan, Hamastan, where the feeling and behavior are identical. Sagregation,Sagregation,Sagregation ---NO education, children manufacturing, cooking, scrubbing, (once in a while) beating,to keep them in line, walk behind their "masters" wrapped in look like "sarcophagus". There in a "free " environment, they can place the Qur'an next to the Torah and pray.....!
52. I Once Travelled On Non-Kosher Bus
Lawrence Tendler ,   Safed Israel   (12.03.08)

53. #2 bus to kosel
voice ,   Jerusalem   (12.03.08)
It comes down to a matter of respect-simple respect. I am Haredi. I take the #2 bus to the kosel. 99.9999 per cent of the people on the bus are Haredi at any given time [except Arabs who sometimes board to get to the old city]-It is definitely not discrimination, it is not offensive when you bother to understand the reasons for these rules [by the way, check it out with an open mind!]but simple respect for the people who use the bus.
