1. Ban Arabs From That Road
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (02.10.08)
If the Arabs won't allow us to drive on OUR roads in peace, then THEY cannot use OUR roads, and if the Arabs can't live in OUR land in peace, then they can't live here at all.
2. stones
colin   (02.10.08)
The corrupt olmert and the egomaniac barak are not interested in security.OF THE PEOPLE.The stone throwers know nothing will be lost. The pioneers must take the security in thier own hands and start killing stone throwers.A STONE IS AS DANGEROUS AS A BULLET.
3. Attacking travellers on Route 55
mf ,   Israel   (02.10.08)
Aside from the demo by angry local Jews, the army has put the hornets-nest of Azoun under curfew, and hopefully will contribute to a return of the quiet on our roads which was until recently - then the Annapolis fiasco sent the wrong messages. It is only luck that none of the recent victims of stone throwing and molotov cocktails were not seriously injured.

For your information, these roads are built on Palestinian private lands confiscated by IDF.You should thank Palestinians for using these roads. You can also use other roads away from Palestinian areas.Keep away from them .
7. Rafi- You Are SO Uninformed
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (02.10.08)
That road has been around for a LONG time and isn't on Philistine land. They also use it. And they shouldn't be allowed to if they don't behave like the guests that they are in OUR land.
8. citation to Captain Joe
Joseph ,   Israel   (02.10.08)
The article says the IDF is helpless: helpless to stop stone throwing (considered attempted murder in Canada and Holland), helpless to protect Sderot and helpless to protect Dimona. Maybe if Captain Joe was given a citation and promoted to General the IDF would be less helpless. Maybe then eight year old Osher Tuito would have both legs.

take some sedatives, learn some geography Road 55 that passes Azun is the Kalkilya - Shchem road that probably existed before the time of Jacob, but certainly existed in the time of the Second Temple when Jaljulya (5 km south of Kalkilya) housed a school for (Jewish) prophets. The popularion of Azun has increased by about 100 times since 1967, especially since Sharon built the fence. Azun is close enough to the "Green Line" so that many Arabs move there from Shchem so they can cross the fence to get work. Many of the new houses in Azun are built on state land, in contravention of the "Road Map".
10. You should know
John ,   Darom, Israel   (02.10.08)
...that the road predates the village of Azun, which grew up around it. The road goes directly through the village. Until about two years ago it was normal for jewish residents of the Shomron to stop and buy things in the shops or have cars repaired there.
