Knesset to vote on non-religious marriage     Amnon Meranda
1. Great. Reno wedding chapels in Jerusalem.
There's a lot of evidence to support a traveling CT scanner over there. More and more people in "authority" seem to have deranged brain waves. I know it's not from the Qassam concussions; they never go near them. But something just ain't right. Heroin clinic in TA, Arab towns in Galilee, sushi parlors, ... Hope it's not contagious!

2. DO IT ! ..........PASS THE BILL !
People should ' tie the knot' the way they see fit . Choosing to forego the religious option is a personal matter better left up to the individuals and should be considered legal. Israelis should also have the right to be spared the sometimes expensive costs of religious marriages, ceremonies, receptions etc., if they so choose.
RCA ,   USA   (02.13.08)
3. SHAS: shut up and look at the traitors to the nation you are
(02.13.08)
4. Shas, I would like to Remind You
That you are a bunch of worthless crooks, so greedy for money that you are selling Jerusalem just to stay in the government. Your opinion is meaningless. May you get exactly what you deserve.

You are wrong . To wed religiously is not expensive . Regarding receptions , it's the same as in case of a civil wedding . All depends on what you want , or can afford , to spend . Regarding civil wedding , my Humanistic democratic side says it has to be allowed . My Jewish side opposes . It allows to much mixed couples . You will have half Jews , then quarter , then no Jewish at all anymore

6. There's not so much controversey here
The bill allows religious marriage to be religious, and secular unions to be secular. It's seems this may be a rare case where everyone wins.

7. #5- Charles.
OK. That is good to know. In the US. the total package can often be expensive, but there are choices. Good to see you have them too. When it comes to the civil wedding, you are right on both points. But, giving choice to the individuals involved , to me, seems the right thing to do. After 2800yrs, I like to think Jews in one form or another will always be with us.( Blessed be the thought.) As important as it is, Jewish marriage is only one part of life cycle events, and not the only defining characteristic of Jewishness. I think people must be allowed to make their own decisions, and even make their own mistakes, in hopes that they can learn from them.

By having a civil wedding , you can stay Jewish . But your children if married to a non Jewish woman ? If the Jewish people has survived for so many years , it's because of the very low % of intermarriage . Look at what happens today in the USA , have i to add something ?

9. Another attempt to de-Judaize Israel
