The reason shas and others speak of gays so much is because those who are plagued by an inclination to engage in homosexual acts are indeed very righteous people. The fact is that the jewish people are standing at the brink of moshiach, and the yetzer hara is fighting its final battle and is trying to destroy the jewish people and their faith in hashem by tempting them towards immoral sexual act which have always been used to destroy the jews. The fact that an individual has these urges means they are extremely holy and that hashem has given them an extremely difficult test to overcome. Someone who has these urges must fight and resist them and do everything possible not to act on them, though the test is extremley tough, an individual can find strength knowing that their struggle will help to bring the redemption of the jewish people, the world, and bring the true ultimate peace to israel.

The shas council of sages are waiting. For the moves of ehud olmert. Before any decisions are made. I thought the rabbanim knew everything, people ask our rabbinim for what to do in business and many other subjects, now when their foresight and wisdom are needed. Where are they , What happened to their daat torah , since when did they abdicate, we are called on to follow, when they impose chumras or instruct us on our actions , or blame blame accidents on having movie theaters open on shabbat, so why on this so important decision do they defer , to the same people who are held in contempt for their religious holdings,

MK member Shlomo Benizri claims that the earthquake felt in Israel recently was a result of homosexual activity, citing the Gemara as his proof-text. My response revolves around a number of issues: a) Is it in fact true that the Gemara says this? Assuming that the MK is correct ( I didn't check myself), this is further proof that the Gemara is a man-made document, written by individuals who had crude scientific knowledge, and poor insight into the workings of many things, including such matters as geological composition of the earth, fault lines, plate tectonics, and other naturally occurring phenomena of our planet. The earthquake was felt across much of the country, but not all of the country. My next comment is b) Does this imply that homosexual activity only occurs from Nahariya in the north to Beersheba in the south? Following this line of thinking, then clearly homosexual activity does not occur in Kiryat Shemona nor does it occur in Eilat. But surely this is not the case, is it? c) Does MK Benizri believe that if homosexual activity were to stop that earthquakes would then stop? What about earthquakes that occurred before people inhabited the earth, during the formative years of our planet? d) If he believes that our behavior here on earth affects earthquakes, does he also believe it affects tsunamis, hurricanes, floods, drought and wildfires? All from a cessation of homosexuality? I am a serious Jew and I am also heterosexual. What scares me more than MKs Benizri's views are the views of the people who elected him to the Knesset. A world-view that is so narrow and obsessed with others' private sexual matters is of concern to all of us interested in the future of Judaism and in the State of Israel. This uneducated and small man should be asked to resign his position from the Knesset. He is an embarrassment to himself, the people he represents in the Knesset, and to all reasonable people everywhere.

I expect this sort of talk from certain ayatollah's in Iran. Get rid of SHAS before they get rid of Israel. They are crazy and racisit people. Gays have all the right in the world and do better service to Israel than those Shas people.

Trying to guess the reasons behind Hashem's handiwork is a tricky business. Certainly allowing, tolerating and in some cases even promoting the sexualists (homo- or hetero-sexual anti-Semitic propaganda) in Israel is bad. What maybe is a lot worst cause of earthquake is the negotiation and the dividing the Land of Israel activity and the offering it up to our enemies, an activity that the so called Shas is a partner to. "Be most careful not to make a treaty with the people who live in the land where you are coming, since they can be a fatal trap for you" (Exodus 34:12)

although iam not with holding gay parades in israel and jerusalem i want to say that the earthequake that happend last days is because shas staying in government and because the corruption of the relgious leaders in israel

It’s the other way round! Where have HUGE quakes struck and killed thousands of people? The answer is Iran, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand although Thailand is not homophobic, some communities there are. It’s nice to know that Shas is in support of Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen where the penalty for homosexuality is death! The Gay community does not tell the Ultra-Orthodox, or for that matter anyone, on how to live their lives. Who gave Benizri and his fellow bigots the right to judge others? Only G-d has that right and I am sure His time is fully unutilized in judging the bigotry of those who discriminate against people of color, race, religion and sexuality!

Its because Shas are willing to see the most holy city to jews & its holy places along with the rest of the Holy Land to a bunch of terrorists. First it was if `olmert discusses Jerusalem we pull out his coalition .. Olmerts geting ready to sign on the dotted line and Ovadia knows it but he says now isnt the time to pull out. Then he says if Olmert continues to tallk with Abbas whie terror is going on he will quit . The terror is still happening and Olmert is still proudly talking with Abbas. Now Shas blame homosexuals for the earthquake if they see themselves as some kind of party of morality so they wil blame homsexuals for the earthquake then why are this morral group doing deals with the devil. He belongs in Perisa with the Haman the monkey they are made for each other .. both want Israel destroyed and both hate homosexuals.
