1. the mosque in Beersheba
observer   (02.22.08)
was there a synagogue also, or the "minorities", if even existed, were denied a one.
2. 1# Beersheba then barely had Muslims in it.
Boaz ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (02.22.08)
Let alone minorities. The important city then in the south was Gaza, and it had a Christian minority and a handful of Jews. Beersheba had a few hundreds people in it, and it was a town by name only. They were all Moslems.
3. 90 years ago there was no land called Israel
(02.22.08)
Even you want to cheat the history ... like the story of building the Pyramids .....LOL
4. nameless #3, before 1917 there was no 'Palestine'
Jake   (02.23.08)
that was the year it was created as a British Mandate, dedicated for the purpose of the Jewish National Home. Before that, it was divided between several Ottoman villayets. But long before that , Jews were already calling the land in Hebrew ERETZ ISRAEL, the "Land of Israel", as the article correctly says. Was it 'Falastin' for the Arabs 100 years ago? Oh, and by the way, Jews never claimed to have built the Pyramids of Egypt; that is an old worn out allegation by Arab Nationalists. The Bible says that the Israelites built "the store cities of Pithom and Raamses". Not the same thing at all, so who is cheating history?
5. #1 - There were very few Jews in Palestine at that time
Ancestors of Canaan   (02.23.08)
as G-d had expelled the Jews from Palestine long ago and only the indigenous population of Muslims and Christians remained. There were of course a few Jews who returned from exile over the years, but the land of Palestine was populated by the Palestinians thousands of years.
6. Actually #3
Objective observer ,   USA   (02.23.08)
A couple thousand years ago there was Eretz Israel, not 90. Even the Prophet Mohammed believed that. The funny part of your exclusive historical interpretation is that 90 years ago there was no such thing as a palestinian. Only Ottoman ruled Arabs and Jews, you Douche bag! As far as the pyramids you should be proud that arabs enslaved a whole bunch of people to build them Jewish or not. I guess suffering is ok when it is not Arabs. Please go read a little and make something of your petty and fruitless life. Maybe your offspring will not be as ignorant. But as the saying goes the apple does not fall far from the tree.
7. to # 3, maybe not 90 years but go further back to 3000 yrs
Matt ,   Israel   (02.23.08)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Israel and when was there ever a country called "palestine"? no it was just a name given to the region by the romans after they had destroyed the israelite kingdom. I guess it's you who is making up the history now.
8. Nor a land called Jordan, Saudi, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar...
Adam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (02.23.08)
9. #5 , "very few jews in Palestine at that time"
Jake   (02.23.08)
except they were already the majority of the population of Jerusalem by 1860 and the largest single group in the city by 1844. And at that time there was no entity called 'Palestine'. Funny how that works.
10. You are so funny mr. 6
(02.23.08)
I didn't mention Palastine at all i said there was no land called Israel 90 years ago and if you want to speake about thousends of years ago so there was no land called USA .... so you are an occupier too hater .... isted of asking me to go abd read go you and clean your heart and mind .... still 90 years ago there was no land called Israel ... it is true moron .
11. Jewish majority in Jerusalem in 1822
Sheila ,   Jerusalem Israel   (02.23.08)
The Encyclopaedia Brittanica of 1822 shows a Jewish majority in Jerusalem and ancient maps of that time show that Silwan did not exist except for 10 Jewish houses. Proof!
12. #3 pyramids was not built by slaves, Jewish or non-Jewish
observer   (02.23.08)
Archaeologists have found artifacts at the area of pyramids proving that those who built the pyramids could never have been slaves. The character of their working system, living, meal, health care were nothing short of volunteering in a National Project. And, Pyramids were built a thousand years before the presence of Jews in Egypt.

(02.24.08)
you are more ignorant than you can imagin and you have no idea about the story of the Pyramids you should read a bit more about it , and still you couldn't prove that there was somthing called Israel 90 years ago and if the world has to go back like 3000 years ago so the whole world has to be changed and you have to leave this land you are on it now .
