1. ahh, TWO can play this game!
(02.25.08)
"The Palestinian's strategic use of illegal construction in Jerusalem, in their fight for east Jerusalem"--ha! That guy needs to read the tens of reports written on israel and its various illegal activities. as they say: "take a hike!"
2. Jerusalem is Jewish and will remain Jewish.
Jean Van Daem ,   Metula   (02.25.08)
Jerusalem is Jewish and will remain Jewish. The true demographic threat in Jerusalem is the freezing of Jewish building and the limitations placed on the natural growth of the capital by diplomatic initiatives, unless you expand the border of Jerusalem, including Arab neighborhoods – you wont have the area required to allow Jerusalem to expand. In order for Jerusalem to bloom and expand it should remain Jewish and entirely under Israeli sovereignty. Jerusalem should not be up for negotiation, it has always been the symbol of Jewish unity as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2007/12/myths-and-facts-about-jerusalem-and.html
3. Buying the land
Said ,   London, UK   (02.25.08)
If the Palestinians buy the land from under Israel, then I suppose nobody can complain. The Palestinians can then use this to counter the erroneous claims by zionists that Jewish money "bought" the land of Israel from the 1890s onwards. In fact only 7% of what is currently Israel and the Occupied Territories was bought by Jewish money. Buy the land back ,Palestinians, and make your case for a homeland and a capital city in East Jerusalem, America respects (or one would hope, if they are true to their beliefs) private property more than anything else! Yet given the record on how 1/3of settlements are built on private Palestinian land, this is not a panacea. Nevertheless, it is a stepping stone.
4. I live in the Old City, anyone giving mortgages?
Rob ,   Jerusalem   (02.25.08)
I'm a secular Jew living in the Christian Quarter, and think it would be possible to buy my flat. Who are the contact people who would be interested in helping out?
5. #4
Marzipandingo ,   Sweden   (02.25.08)
ha! can't resist the $$
6. #5 ignorant or racist ?
elchonon ,   chevron   (02.25.08)
Perhaps you dont know what a mortgage is...it seems that you cant discern between a grant and a mortgage that has to be paid back.. That or you just racist.. "jews want money" if you had any idea how much rent was there youd shut up.
7. Said of Londonistan, Why are You Not at Home?
Brana Lobel ,   Israel   (02.25.08)
Why are you not in Saudi, UAE, Dubai or wherever? Don't you like it where you come from? Or do you just want to take over the Anglos? Your percentages are not true. Your analysis of the US is way off. It's the country of diversity and respect for minority rights, and commerce, not private housing per se, and individualism, and mutual support. The major group going around buying everything in sight in the US in order to coopt it is the Arabs. They have chiggered into the US university system, towns, and cities. However, Americans have a history of getting the last laugh, so don't be too complacent. BTW, Israel has the historic rights to, been ceded and won in war Judea and Shomron, so your confreres are getting really tedious and definitely cruisin' for a bruisin'. You guys can try to chigger in to Israel but IY"H you will be vomited out.
8. #5, you're right, if I could get a mortgage, I would
Rob ,   Jerusalem   (02.26.08)
It would really be quite fantastic to be able to own a place. And, most people get mortgages for these things. So when you say I can't resist the money, you're right. I'd like to own my apartment. Nothing wrong with that. Cheers.
9. Hi Rob, If you want to help us buyong property at the Old C

10. in this environment, Hebrew U. gave land to arab squatters
dante ,   uk   (03.24.08)
with every square centimeter of land in dispute, the administration of Hebrew University gave land that belonged to the university [i.e. land that was acquired through the sacrifice of donors] to arab squatters. it is inexcusable. it is disgraceful. it is scandalous.
