1. Hamas is right, Israel has failed utterly
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (03.03.08)
So what was the news this morning? Israel has withdrawn from Gaza and the terrorists are continuing to bombard Ashkelon with rockets. A modest number of terrorists have been killed together with a few civilians, Egypt is resupplying Hamas with weapons under the guise of ambulance travel, and the EU is telling Israel that it must continue to allow endless rocket attacks on its citizens. The loathsome Rice is about to visit to drive home this all-important message. Meanwhile Israel continues to supply Gaza with food, water, fuel, electricity, medical aid etc and not a single Hamas leader has been taken out. So yes, the Hamas victory rally is completely justified.
2. I wish them more "victories"!
Barry ,   Tokyo   (03.03.08)
Hamas leadership on the border of delusion...
3. Did Hamas win or lose?!!!
Hassa ,   Earth   (03.03.08)
Olmert and Barak made it sound like there will be no rockets fired after the operation. Yet Ashkelon was hit and several victims were wounded. 110 Palestinians were killed. 55 were unarmed civilians, including 26children (some infants) and 5 women. Hamas announced that it lost 35 fighters in the operation. Israel's talk big do little sent Hamas a message that it has weathered a big storm. For them, that is reason to celebrate!
4. Compensation for Gazans
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (03.03.08)
What money are they going to use? The 'funny money' they spent in Egypt? And Larry, this isn't finished. We are only taking a breather. Just wait.
5. Oh dear, more empty promises for the already downtrodden
Talula ,   Israel   (03.03.08)
Palestinians. These sad sorry degenerates have had to send the injured into Egypt and Israel for medical assistance. They don't have money for hospitals, food....nothing, AND they rely on Israel for water, power and fuel. But they seem to have an arsenal of weapons from somewhere. That would piss me off no end if I was a cold, hungry Palestinian. Afterall, you can’t eat a rocket. All those rockets aimed at Israel are only going to bring more heartache and pain. Can’t they see it’s futile? It's time the people of Gaza wake up and realize that they are being used as pawns - it's time they realize there is no money, no hope and no future. Do they HONESTLY believe they are all going to get shiny new houses? Nevertheless, Hamas manage to counteract such incompetence by brainwashing the people into believing that Israel 'lost' and they triumphed. They are trying to lead the blind, deaf and dumb Palestinian people into believing that they really are what’s good for them and that they care. They are trying to improve morale in Gaza by telling the people they won, what else do they have, if not a bucket full of lies? …..And then the next IAF fighter jet delivers his load into Gaza. They have been abandoned and lied to, by Hamas. They will live their lives out being bombed and living amongst shrapnel. That’s all they can look forward to. There is only more suffering on the way for these people at the hands of Hamas. If the Arab community worldwide really REALLY cared about them, they would do something, but all fronts remain silent. They simply don’t care.

7. #1 Well Larry from Eastbourne UK
Talula ,   Israel   (03.03.08)
Why don't YOU get over here, put an IDF uniform on and do something constructive, rather than sit there bitching. Oh isn't it so simple! LOSER!
8. Al-Zahar should be neutralized - just because he's so damn
Israel   (03.03.08)
UGLY!!!! GOD! that man is ugly!

so what, we have 10 civilians killed and 5 soilders.
11. Olmerts "brilliance" once again
Yisraeli   (03.03.08)
Olmert cowtailed and pulled out mid operation much to the chagrin of the army and many others. He is the weakest fool of a PM that Israel has ever had in her history. Condi Rice threatened not to come and he bowed and said yowsem ma'am, whatever you say. This is the leader of Israel! a sad joke.
12. IDF wins the battle but loses the War..
Yitzchak ,   Yerushalyim   (03.03.08)
IDF wins the battle but loses the War rule of the Goyim is that Jews are not allowed to win and possess the spoils of war ie Land and rule over the area.

14. We should fight with the will to defeat the enemy.
Jean Van Daem ,   Metula   (03.03.08)
We should fight with the will to defeat the enemy. US Congressman David Weldon (R., Florida), who visited Israel last week, said Israel should strike back at Gaza in one fell swoop. "During World War II," Weldon told the Makor Rishon newspaper, "the U.S. attacked Japan mercilessly. Despite the ethical problems, everyone now agrees that this caused Japan to surrender, thus saving many lives, including Japanese lives. This is the reason I think Israel should hit the Palestinians with one fell swoop, thus defeating them. Otherwise, this cruel situation of today will continue year after year, decade after decade.Just like parents have to protect their children," Weldon said, "a state must protect its citizens, especially those who are threatened such as those in Sderot. If a country would attack the U.S., I would support turning that country into dust. If it’s right for the U.S., it's right for Israel." As described at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/stop-them-with-clear-cut-victory-part-i.html
15. #11 yes this is true
u.s.   (03.03.08)
What you say is true. Olmert is a loser. But you know what, Israelis are the biggest losers because 1) they voted for him and 2) they don't have the balls to kick him out of office. All Israelis do is cry and whine. If they weren't just as cowardly as Olmert they would do something and kick him out. As much as a fool as Bush is, at least he has balls.

Said ,   London, UK   (03.03.08)
Sure the palestinians aren't living in the lap of luxury, but their future with Israel is one where they'll be forever relegated to 2nd class citizenship. Some future. If I were in their position I'd do the same: fight for a future were I could be free from racial and relgious segregation, rather than accept a future with a perpetually shrinking glass ceiling!
17. Other Great Victories
Barry   (03.03.08)
On the 5th June 1967, Israeli forces tried to attack Egypt but had been repulsed . . . and thirty-one Israeli planes shot down. It must be so. I heard it on Nasser's Voice of the Arabs radio station On April 7, 2003, there were no American troops in Baghdad, and Americans were committing suicide by the hundreds at the city's gates. The Americans had no choice but to surrender or be burned in their tanks. It must be so, the Iraqi Information ministry said so.
18. Ok you won so
Daniel ,   Hasharon   (03.03.08)
leave us alone now and get on with your lives .What a shame, we came to this world for a reason to live and enjoy that short period of time that nature has given us. But what do we do ,we fight ,we hate ,we struggle for land that we will not take with us,it will still be here long after humanosaurus race has disappeared from this Earh. Yeah but reality ...................
19. #7 Talula may I reply please
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (03.03.08)
Just to say that I was a schoolkid during the 1967 war - yes, I'm that old - and would have loved to put on an IDF uniform. The IDF is performing wonders against impossible constraints. Here in the UK the media is presenting a grossly biased and false picture of what is going on. All the fuss is about Gaza and the terror attacks are basically ignored, just like in the Lebanon war. Added to which the UN and EU always turn their fury on Israel when it takes measures to defend itself which by any rational standard are extraordinarily restrained. Already we are getting to a situation where Ashkelon residents are coming to "accept" rocket attacks as part of life, which has of course happened in Sderot. There are no simple solutions. The best help for Israel would be if the EU conditioned all aid to the Palestinians upon a cessation of terrorism; as it is, aid is ensuring the continuance of terrorism.
20. Not a Hamas victory, but surely one more Israel defeat
Salomon Mizrahi ,   Sao Carlos/SP/Brazil   (03.03.08)
Since 1993 Israel is inflicting to itself defeat after defeat, not because the Arabs are winning, but because the Israeli Jews are psychologically defeated and they have existential doubts and are perplexed... The secular Ashkenazi syndrome, of whether the Jews are European colonizer of Palestine instead of recognizing that they come from an old middle-eastener tribe, is badly contaminating all the population...and leading to defeat after defeat.
21. A win???
Natan   (03.03.08)
We are dealing with people that have a twisted and sick mind. Hamas gets the crap beat out of their asses and they feel they won, Their houses are destroyed, their leaders are in hiding and they are parading. If this was not sick i would have been laughing...
22. only a matter of time before Hamas is destroyed
david ,   usa   (03.03.08)
it will take strong leadership
23. More Arab truth-twisting
Leah C ,   Maryland, USA   (03.03.08)
Of course Hamas thinks they won.. the Arabs love to twist the truth to make themselves look good or look like the victims.
24. Hamas won a FAILED economy and future..congrats
David ,   Boston, USA   (03.03.08)
How pathetic this cancer considers this winning. If I were a Gazan I'd be furious at Hamas for what they did to me, but I think logically, not like a cancer.
25. #15 - Did we vote for Olmert? Check again.
Citizen ,   Israel   (03.03.08)
26. #16 Said
Talula ,   Israel   (03.03.08)
I cannot express this gracefully, and eloquently, so I won't try. The fact is, we don't WANT them in Israel, they don't need to live here. They had the chance to create their own state side by side with us, where they wouldn't be 'second class citizens'. But what did they do? they voted for Hamas. And now they are NEVER it seems, going to get anything other than heartache and misery. And guess what? it's not our fault. Hamas has not taken care of their basic fundamental needs, it takes care of its own megalomaniac needs. These people are going from a bad situation straight to hell, and guess what, again….. NOT OUR FAULT. The only Palestinians that had anything, were the ones that were allowed into ISRAEL to work, into ISRAEL, my friend, not Gaza. You clearly have not been here and seen Arabs and Israelis in the same markets, shopping centers, super markets and other places. They are NOT treated like second class citizens. However, because of the constant mistrust between us, there is of course friction and a temporary fear of what they are hiding in their bags. They have made us suspicious of them and you know what? I don’t like to feel that way in my own country. I’m not a politician but a simple Israeli citizen who knows for SURE that when Hamas are destroyed, the average Palestinian on the street will be oh so much better off. Their future lies in Gaza without Hamas. No perpetually shrinking glass ceilings, no segregation, no second class citizens – no Hamas and they can have it all. Seems so simple.
27. Brave hamas "soldiers" walking around a crowd od civilians
Shamick   (03.03.08)
This is the truly brave shahid jihad warrior.
28. Thats it Olmert? I say Winograd 2. This time for Gaza
Bibliobob Gilobo ,   usa   (03.03.08)
More empty words from the gov. The rockets will still fall and the IDF has been withdrawn. This gov doesnt even have the will to decisively win against Hamas? Why dont you just write out an invitation to all your enemies. It says Dear Enemies: Please attack us. We no longer have the will to fight. Please take Yesha, we dont care anymore for the Land or our security. Take J'lem and the Templemount, we don't care anymore, who even needs the Wall. We have handed our sovereignty to the quartet, so we dont care. Attack now, we just want to lie down and rest.....
29. To Live In Fairy Land
guy ,   los angeles   (03.03.08)
Yes Gaza is just like Monte Carlo and the population is productively engaged in medical research.... Perhaps Israel's "failure" is best exemplified by the multi-lanes of stalled traffic on the Ayalon... Will there ever be a time when the residents of Gaza realize thy've been lied to and taken as dummies?
