There are NO achievements on the side of Israel. Operation Warm winter is a total failure. First off, the operation was aborted due to pressure from Ms Rice. There was no military reason for stopping. Second, the operation was very limited. It was only a pin-prick. Third, we did not eliminate any major Hamas figures. Fourth, we had no realistic goals - just a lot of hype & spin, tough talk for domestic consumption. In effect, we are exactly where we were before the larger than usual small scale incursion. Our soldiers do a great job given the limitations placed on them. Killing a hundred terrorists is not going to make much difference, however. As long as Olmert, Livni, & Barak are running the show, we will achieve nothing. As long as we remain hostage to a phoney peace process, we will achieve nothing. As long as we maintain the "Oslo" mentality, we will achieve nothing. As long as we have a leadership whose only goal is to remain in power, we will achieve nothing. In my dictionary, achievement is not synonomous with defeat.
