2. Good news
Justine   (03.04.08)
Good. It's a shame those people cannot confirm their citizenship because of fears about what Germans may do. BTW, the only "sabra" Israeli I knew (at the university) was trying to get Polish citizenship to study in the EU :) I hope he got it.
3. Polski pasport..... Nanette
Yehud   (03.04.08)
is the entry ticket to the EU. If it's such a wonderful country, why do polish ppl. leave in the millions for western Europe....

That's what the Polish Jews thought in 1938!!! When my father in law went back to Poland to warn his family to come with him to Israel they "knew" they would be safe there. He is the only survivor of his family - the others persihed in the Holocaust. Safe in Poland - nowhere but Israel
6. Mossad Migration back to Poland -will turn poland to clown

Soon there will not be anymore Jews in Israel ... the Arabs will rull this land again soon or later .

Greg ,   LA, USA   (03.04.08)
"He is the only survivor of his family" And I am guessing Poland is responsible for that, right?
9. #8 Greg you know as we all know
Yehud   (03.04.08)
the Germans and their European helpers were responsible, sooooooooooo no provocation necessary pozdrow
10. Read the article, people.
Jake   (03.04.08)
Talk about a storm in a teacup. "Some 15,000 Jews who left Poland following the anti-Semitic incidents which began in March 1968 will regain their Polish citizenship" This has nothing to do with the "anti-Semitic incidents" which preceded 1968, and will only affect 5000 Israeli Jews (article does not say how many of those Jews, if any, would be interested to move to Poland).

Sheila ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.04.08)
Of course Poland was responsible!!! You hav eto be very ignorant to think it was only the Germans!!!! Not only was Poland the initiator of the pogrom long before the Germans - it is the place where most Jews died from NAZI collaberation but - when one other brother came back to his home, having survived the Holocaust and Auschwitz, he went to his neighbour who was taking care of his home and the neighbour got his gun and shot him in the head, dead in front of his child
12. sheila
Yehud   (03.04.08)
you have a valid point, my grandparents also fled from the 1946 progroms but they (PL) lost also 3 million citicen killed by the nazis
13. Sheila
Greg ,   LA, USA   (03.04.08)
You forgot Poland started the war in order to round up all Jews from Europe in concentration camps. They (Jews) were very lucky that Germany stepped in to save them, otherwise.... Sheila, child. Return to your bed, hug your doll and leave converstion to the adults, k?
14. Poland, bastion of anti-semitism, collective graveyard...
Flavio ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (03.04.08)
...of the Jewish people, one of the most rabidly anti-semitic places everywhere, home of enthusiastic helpers of the SS, 90% of the killing camps were there, not to mention the post-war pogroms (Kielce and others). I cannot conceive a conscious jew plannig to return to such a place. The only purpose of Poland for a jew, as I see it, is to serve as remembrance and warning, the only justifiable way a jew could ever set foot on Polish soil would be to take part in the March of Life. We´ll never, never, never forget neither forgive what the Poles have done to us!
15. Now, few things for you, child
Greg ,   LA, USA   (03.04.08)
1. pogroms long before Germans - please enlight me here, give some source - source, not 'my daddy told me' stories 2. Jews died from NAZI collaberation - sure, they died. There were collaborators in every occupied nation, yet Poland is one of very few that gov. NEVER collaborated with the Germans and Poland NEVER created an SS troop that would consist of the Poles. Poles were fighting the Germans off from Day 1 to the very end on every battle field you can only think of. 3. If collaboration was so common as some suggest, including 'one and only' Gross, then why, WHY, Germans issued a law that for helping Jews was a capital penalty on the spot for the rescuer and his family? By saying 'of course Poland was responsible' you spit on the memory of the fallen heroes who gave their lives to destroy nazism. 4. the brother - you might be telling the truth about this one. Lots of people lost their lives right after the war. Do me a favour - read some books, from international authors, about the war, find out who's who, stop feeding yourself on false propaganda, k?
16. #14, Flavio
John Bull Capistrano   (03.04.08)
Flavio, you should've stayed in Poland and fought the Germans, like the honorable Poles did. Instead, you fled like a coward to South America. Or perhaps the cowards were your parents? grandparents?
17. To: #14 Flaviom Sao Paulo, Brazil
Robert ,   Canada   (03.05.08)
Your post is one of the biggest nonsense I have ever heard. Frankly, I'm a little shocked of your ignorance and lack of general knowledge about the Holocaust. Posts as yours are often seen on these boards but your absurd is topping the scores. Do they teach you this crap in Brazilians schools (I don’t think so) or you just have heard that from “my grandpa told me so " BS.? You need serious history lessons Flavio. Perhaps you should start with Wikipiedia. Search for “History of the Polish Jews" there. Happy reading.
18. Sheila
Adam ,   Toronto Canada   (03.04.08)
How dare you say Poland was the initiator. Poland was home to Europes the largest concentration of Jews. The reason simply being they liked there im guessing. no one forced to come and live there. Germany attacked Poland thats clear. Poland fought the germans and protected thousands of jews while fighting for their lives. after poland lost the war, and than after the germans lost the war to the USSR poland was not under polish control. it was under russian control in the name of poland. everything that happened after the war up to 1984-90 can be blamed on Russia. You should be ashamed at sugesting its right to blame polish people for doing what the russians instructed them to do with a gun up to their head. seriously pickup a non fiction book thats idk more than 100 pages to learn some history. because your ignorace is insulting to poland and jews that have passed on fighting the occult driven nazi and ussr empires.
19. Flavio, expert on the history
Greg ,   LA, USA   (03.04.08)
1. "enthusiastic helpers of the SS." Yes, we enthusisticaly helped to annihilate ourselves. 2."90% of the killing camps were there" And you of course don't know why. More than a half of all Eurepean Jewry lived there. I guess that's because Poland is "one of the most rabidly anti-semitic places everywhere" 2. Kielce was a soviet provocation. Jedwabne - archeologists found there over 100 german shels - does that tell you something? 3. You leave what Jews planning to do to Jews themselves, hmm, Flavio-Bear? 4.March of the Living - aka March of Hate in Poland, for that what it is. Young Jews show up in Poland to express their hate toward all Poles. 5. What did Poland did to you? Helped you thrive for a millenium? Saved European Jews from extinction? Another rant of another polonophobic idiot fed on hate toward Poles and Poland. Where do you people learn those 'facts' about Poland?
20. The path the peace
Shulamit   (03.05.08)
The Polish Jews can go back to Poland and the Palestinian Arabs back to Palestine. End the occupation Now!!!
21. Greg and Adam - Against stupidity even god's fight in vain
Sheila ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.05.08)
Greg I long learned that those who throw insults do so from ignorance. Unlike you two I don't read twisted history books I spoke to my father who was born in 1888 Poland. His town of Brzenini was predominantly Jewish and was constantly attacked. Most Jews were kept in tiny shtetls which are not romantic as portrayed in Fiddler on the Roof - My father fled to the UK from Pogroms in 1910. The Germans could not have carried out their horrors without the full and total co-operation of thePoles.
22. scuse me please..........
Yehud   (03.05.08)
if one follows this discussion the impression arises that Hitler, Göring, Himmler, Eichmann, Bormann, Goebbels, Mengele and co were neiter GERMAN nor AUSTRIAN but Poles... bevakashah, get your history in perspective and you will find that the polish people (even anti-semitic as many were and some still are!) were the 1st victims of Nazi Germany and lost 3million non-jewish PLs during 1939-1945 d'sh

Warsaw Uprising ,   200.000 dead   (03.05.08)
"Unlike you two I don't read twisted history books I spoke to my father who was born in 1888 Poland" Oh, I am sorry, we, IDIOTS (cavemen), still read history books, don't know WHY, we should all turn our attention to your daddy. That is EXACTLY what I thought and what I indicated in one of a previous post: 'my daddy told me'. What your daddy did tell you means crap, k, do you GET THAT?!?! Check out the historic research and then spit your venom, if you could. THEN. Oh, you're missing one point: 1888: there was NO Poland. And I wonder why the Jews weren't liked in there: I am guessing: they betrayed the locals, didn't they? I can see lil' baby can read: so now, lil' child (you) can take your doll to one hand, take a HISTORIC book to another and read, r e a d, READ! "The Germans could not have carried out their horrors without the full and total co-operation of the Poles. " Yes, poor baby, yes. Poles could NOT have achieve the following 'VICTORIES' by themselves: one fourth of the Polish population: dead. Cities: mostly destroyed (i.e. Warsaw: 80% destroyed), Intelligentsia (smart dudes, that is for you, child): mostly annihilated (either by the Germans or by the Soviets). For helping a Jew: death on the spot, for the rescuer, usually for him and his family, often neighbours. Yet, appart the loses, we never, NEVER, stopped to fight and stop to help JEWS. The gratefulness for that: we can see these days. Your venom is a spit onto faces of those fallen heroes, onto my grandpa, who fought the Germans for SIX freaking years, onto nameless soldiers who died for a thing they loved most: POLAND. Your venom is nothing but a spit. I just hope that 'spit' will come back to you. Proud Pole, out! (I wish I had a one per cent of the courage my brave ancestors did have) Sheila, just think twice, k? Baby? PS/ 200.000 people perished, when Poles tried to get rid of the Nazi German parasite. 200 THOUSAND dead. Two months. Fighting for INDEPENDENCE.

David Bankier, from Hebrew University in Jerusalem says:"- Does the fact that the "Final Solution" took place in the East say anything about the nations of Eastern Europe? - No, it has to do with the concentration of Jews. Had there been a larger concentration of Jews in the Balkans, the extermination would have taken place there. Since most of the Jews were in Poland and Russia, the main killing centers were in those areas." http://www1.yadvashem.org/Odot/prog/index_before_change_table.asp?GATE=Z&list_type=2-51&type_id=4&total=N His colleague, Robert Wistrich says: "However, this does not turn Poles into co-perpetrators of the Holocaust or diminish in any way the primary German responsibility for the “Final Solution."..."The fact remains that Poles did not engage, on the whole, in the savage murders carried out against Jews" http://www.tau.ac.il/Anti-Semitism/asw2001-2/wistrich.htm Oh...but I forgot. Those are writers of "twisted history books" and I guess they did not have the chance to speak to your dad. Excuse the sarcasm (and I feel sorry for your dad) but this is what happens when one uses such "arguments" as yours.
28. What is there to say, really?
Jakub ,   Warsaw, Poland   (03.05.08)
The government is making a step to right some of the wrongs done during the dreadful Soviet era. A good and proper thing to do. It doesn't matter if anyone wants to move back to Poland or carry on with their lives elsewhere. What was shamefully taken away is given back, do with it as you please, you are welcome back as a Polish citizen, if you want that. If not- then good luck, wherever you choose to live.
29. Sheila , can you give some references
charles ,   petach tikva   (03.05.08)
for the full and total cooperation of the Poles ? There were of course , as in every occupied country , collaborators . Found no mention of a town called Brzenini in the encyclopedia of Jewish life before and during the Holocaust edited by Yad Vashem . Only Brzezany [ yddish : Brizan ] , Tarnopol district
30. Some weird Ashkenazim...
Salomon Mizrahi ,   Sao Carlos/SP/Brazil   (03.05.08)
After having been slaughtered and robbed by the poles, still some Ashkenazim want a polish citizenship? ... Very weird that people. In my case I was "only" expelled from Egypt, I did never returned to visit that country again (I don’t want to) and would never accept an offered Egyptian citizenship
