1. This is totally deceptive.
In reality, they decided nothing at all. The same failed policy of targeting Qassam launching sites which has been ineffective in the past will continue. With new & improved missiles, Ashkelon will remain at risk. And if targets must be approved by Olmert, for sure nothing will be accomplished.
So the headline is a total deception, just the usual spin by our "insecurity cabinet" .....
Even more bizarre, however, is the statement that peace talks will continue. Abbas broke off peace talks & rebuffed Ms Rice's plea that they be resumed. By all accounts, Abbas gets weaker by the day. It should be noted that both Hamas & Fatah supporters marched together in protests & that calls for "unity" are the main demand, not peace negotiations. A united front (against us, of course) is being pushed by Egypt & Saudi Arabia & would probably mean a total collapse of peace talks. I have the sneaking suspicion that we will soon find ourselves under a lot of pressure to accept a Hamas-dominated PA with Abbas as a figurehead. Given Olmert's complete inability to stand up to any pressure plus the lunatic ideas of the "peace camp", it is not inconceivable that he agrees.
This will not mean the end of Qassams - Hamas can easily pretend to a truce & blame shadowy splinter-groups for further attacks.

2. Total betrayal
We are attacked unceasingly by these arabs. Both by rockets and arab MKs in our midst. Yet, when arabs that hate Israel, scream out for her destruction and do it publicly, the government does nothing. Not even that. They appoint one of them, Tibi, as deputy speaker?? Then they send many trucks of supplies to Gaza, facilitate and give weapons to Fatah, which swore to never use these same weapons on fellow arabs, rather on Jews. Yes, the arabs should be prosecuted, jailed or thrown out of Israel. But let me ask you, who is cooperating with these arabs? Who is destroying Israel? Look to the Left, is what I say. Look to Olmert's wife and her whole group of haters that daily plan and execute their desires. Anyone close to Olmert knows who's the boss and who really runs him and consequently the country, allowing this treachery by arab and self-hating Jews. Ramon, cease-fire? unilateral? Is that how you decide your relationships, unilaterally? You don't even give members of government, like Avi Dichter, the right to defend their homes. Betrayal, betrayal!!

5. Israel dont be as ostrich, which put her head in the sand
We All remember beginning of Hezbollah And how a weak it was,it was party from a small number of fighters, light weapons, but, after several years of Israel's withdrawal from southern of Lebanon, Hezbaollah started collecting men, access to heavy weapons from Iran, and became influential political force in Lebanese political life,as Palestinian citizen am refuse to live under rule of Hamas,am refuse to live in an Islamic state controlled by Hamas, and There are half of the Palestinian community share me this view
in the begning they were firing rockets at israeli settlements inside of gaza strip now they have missiles to hit the western Negev and Ashkelon!
Hamas today such as Hezbollah before 10 years ago,We All remember that the Hezbollah missiles were only up to Kiryat Shmona,Today Hezbollah could striking Haifa, Netanya, Tel Aviv, anywhere in israel and If this situation continues am sure hamas will be able after 10 years to bombing haifa in north
Israel must not be like the ostrich that put her head in the sand,
Israel must realize that there is no military solution to the palestinian-israeli struggle
From the other side, Israel must strengthen Government of Abbas in the West Bank Through complete the withdrawal from West Bank and dismantling the israeli settlements, demolition the separation wall and rebuilt it on the Green Line,Then we can send a clear message to Hamas and to the residents of the Gaza Strip that,The Hamas government will not bring you nothing but poverty, siege, starvation, the province by the Arab States, the province by the international community When the Palestinian citizen trusts District Israel wants peace then there would not be Hamas, but stayin israel on the is policy, it would increase strength of Hamas

6. CLUELESS IN JERUSALEM
All that we get is hot air and no substance from our confused and clueless leaders. The title "political-security cabinet" is a good one though. Because that is excactly what these bozo's do secure their political security and benefits. Our security is realy not that important. The fact that we pay taxes for a very updated army arsenal that could take care of this problem in days is not relevant. What is relevant is a lack of vision ,political game playing and no will to protect us We have a legal right to be protected as tax paying citizens. We do need not a bunch of indecisive non caring loosers to keep on babbeling, meanwhile letting us sinking deeper in worsening security situation. There are no words to describe the gutspah of the israeli government to screw with its own people.

Terry, I think you are a bright intelligent person. However, I'm getting a little tired of your incessant moaning about failed policy etc.
My son is in Givati and was in Gaza this week. These rockets fired from Gaza are not going to be magically stopped. These things take time. And you cannot keep the army there indefinitely.
For the time they were in Gaza, I, as I'm sure every other mother whose child was in Gaza, couldn't breath, eat, sleep or function. It's not fun Terry, let me tell you that. It isn't fun to have your every waking thought consumed with fear and worry for your child’s safety but I also know that the rockets fired from Gaza have to stop and that the people of Sderot should be able to live without constant fear – and I believe it will happen – the IDF will make it happen.
Thank you.

10. Ah, and so the failure begins
We are running Lebanon War two all over. Stop/start to satisfy the americans - I assume, I can't think of any other reason - whinning about "civilian" casualties, unrealistic goals which allow the other side to claim "victory" when not acheived and arrogant statements which will come back to be quoted.
Why don't we save time and money, reprint the Winograd report after doing a global replace of "Lebanon" with "gaza".

11. THE GOVERNMENT TO EXPECT MIRACLES FROM ITS ARMY
Even the best of the army of the world will fail if the political leaders are mediocre.

13. Absolute victory.
Based on theWorld War II experience, “absolute victory” has come to mean vanquishing the enemy – not merely defeating its army and effecting regime change, but forcing its acceptance that the vision that led to its aggression and the system that sustained it were at the end. Victory is needed to prove to the Muslims in general and the Arabs in particular that against their ethos of death stands the ethos of life, protected by the arms of democracies that are resolved to punish them where it hurts most as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/stop-them-with-clear-cut-victory-part-i.html

15. Warning civilians near rocket launchers.
Israel has ordered IDF to return fire at rocket launchers. The debate now is how much time to give to nearby civilians to leave the area. The answer is that these civilians know Hamas has installed launchers long before IDF knows it. It is their problem if they ignore this warning. Alternatively, it is a war crime if Hamas force civilians to remain to shield the launchers. The second, and final, warning is when they hear the rocket fired. No further warning is required. They have more time to leave the area than civilians in S’derot have to find a shelter! IDF should return fire immediately, to catch the men who launched it.
