2. Do not say, "Israel's interests"
It is far more accurate to say, "Olmert's interests".
Israel's interest is to destroy Hamas. Period.
That our gov't. pursues it's own interest above the interests of the country is our national shame.
The motivations of Hamas, Egypt, or the United States in promoting short-term solutions do not change our national interest.
We are making the same mistakes on all fronts. Hezbollah, Syria, Iran, even our own Arab population, are all threats that we ignore at our peril.
Neglecting our long-term security for the sake of short-term political advantage only increases the danger & the cost of dealing with them later.
Otherwise, this is a pretty good analysis, in my opinion.

3. Destroy the terrorists.
The West should not be the only one to respect the Geneva convention. As has been proven since 60 years, unfortunately, peace is not an option in this part of the world. The Muslims in general and the Arabs in particular do not make a lasting peace. The maximum that Israel can aim for is a temporary limited ceasefire or an armistice. We should not accept a limited ceasefire or an armistice, but fight the terrorists, defeat them and destroy them. We should stop them with a clear cut victory as explained at :

4. To#3
If you insist on annihilating the so called terrorist ,why don't we give them the chance to re-arm first so you can have a festive battle. So its your duty to contribute to Hamas even a rocket will do.

6. Israel will break truce as always
Gazans are not stupid; they know never to trust an IDF promise; Israel will manufacture an incident (kill a couple of children playing soccer if necessary) when the time comes.

7. #6 Chanalau - Yes they are stupid and terrorists
They are driven by their hatred against Israel and Jews above all else. The welfare of their people is insignificant compared to murdering, maiming, stabbing, raping, kidnapping, and all other Palestinian virtues. This is the sickest society on earth. See today's article on "Family Honor".

Where else but amonst Palestinians would a brother try to murder his sister and get congratulated by the family? Palestinians are sick.

8. To #s 6 and 7
Earlier today, the palestinians fired a rocket at Ashkelon while Israel has not been doing anything in Gaza. So get your facts straight as to who has already broken the so-called hudna

9. Quiet? Sorry, you are wrong...missiles still being fired!

10. Hamas and ceasefire
Hamas is grasping at straws; with the loss of Mughniya in Damascus, they are paralyzed. The only thing left is firing rockets into Israel to force Abbas to scream and yell at the rest of the Arab world and they will do anything to keep his mouth shut. So, the Egyptians broker a deal. It is only good until the al-Qassam terrorists return to Gaza from Iran, then all hell will once again break loose.

11. Pure and simple cowardice
Whatever happens, no matter how much "preparation" is done Israel will get it when it starts an operation in Gaza. One only has to look at Lebanon in 2006, a clear cut, open and shut case of aggression on the part of Hizbollah. No "occupation" to muddy the waters, the attack wasn't even carried out on "occupied" Golan Heights but indisputably sovereign Israeli territory. Hizbollah fired rockets ONLY at civilian targets - hitting exactly one military target - and ISRAEL is the one who is comitting "war crimes".
Olmert no longer has the courage to carry out an operation long and hard enough to hit Hamas. We will have a lull, they will rearm and Ashqelon will be the new Sderot, then Ashdod, then finally Tel Aviv and then we can all live in bomb shelters - except only the people responsible for this state of affairs will them, the politicians.
