Clearly, Livni would be justified in stating that talks should continue despite terrorism IF Abbas & Fatah were willing & able to deliver the goods. But what concessions has Abbas made? What actions has he taken? Does he have any support among his own people? Abbas cannot even recognize us as a Jewish state. He has not told his people that their supposed "right of return" is a total non-starter. Incitement continues as always. Maps show all of Israel as part of Palestine. Fatah members engage in terrorism. And can Abbas stay in power without the IDF to protect him? The answer is no, not even for a week. Abbas will not fight Hamas - he will probably be forced to join them. So, who are we talking to? And why? And as for the "no confidence" vote, hold a referendum & you will see that almost no one has confidence in this gov't.

Who are you kidding??? Abbas can talk peace but cannot deliver peace. Peace with Hamas in Gaza and the West Bank is impossible and Abbas is too weak to battle politically and too corrupt and weak to overthrow Hamas. Wake up Livni. Remove Hamas from the equation and then make peace with Abbas.

Umm if the pragmatic parties among the Palestinians is weak and many among them hold sympathy for Hamas and hizbelah ... ... in my view that would put any future palistinian state at risk of being taken over by Hamas or Hisbelah .... Israel must negotiate ultimately with Hamas, like it or not. I detest this group of mafia type thugs, but they are in power, and can take over the W. Bk within 24 hrs.
