Keren ,   Israel-SP   (03.20.08)
5. That is a fine looking coin
History is your hand.
Cameron ,   USA   (03.20.08)
6. That coin obviously proves the Palestinian claim.
I mean, look at it. It has an eagle, and that served as a precedent for the PNA coat of arms. And look, you can obviously see that the Arabic was rubbed out in order to erase the evidence that this coin has to do with the Palestinian people. Nice try Israel, but intelligent people know that the Holy Temple was in Yemen, and that there is no Jewish claim to the Temple Mount. For those who read this response, agreeing with every word, all I can say is oy vey.

Freejay3 ,   Israel   (03.21.08)
15. to #8 regarding #6
I was completely agreeing with you until you mentioned homeschooling. Yes this is a Jewish coin and Jewish people belong in their homeland in Israel. Why is homeschool brought up everytime someone makes such an ignorant statement? I can assure you the government not homeschooliing is behind such ignorant comments. Public schools only teach hatred and bigotry. Have you ever read the history books they use in schools these days? Talk about biased! They say Islam is a religion of peace. PULEEEEZE!!!
concerned   (03.21.08)
16. Not sure it's an eagle.
Unlike the US, eagles were not considered a national symbol of power and excellence in ancient middle east. The bird that symbolized power and excellence in those times was the vulture (nesher) Minor point, I know, just thought I'd mention it.
Mac ,   Vancouver   (03.21.08)
17. #16, sometimes 'nesher' could refer to an eagle
Usually, 'Nesher' refers to a vulture and 'Ayit' to an eagle, but it is thought that the use of Nesher in Exodus (i.e. on eagle's wings) does in fact refer to the Golden Eagle. I found this interesting web page. http://www.balashon.com/2007/06/nesher-and-ayit.html
Jake   (03.21.08)
18. In Tanach, the eagle is the only animal compared to Divinity
Deuteronomy 32: 9 For the portion of the LORD is His people, Jacob the lot of His inheritance. 10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste, a howling wilderness; He compassed him about, He cared for him, He kept him as the apple of His eye. 11 As an eagle that stirreth up her nest, hovereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her pinions-- 12 The LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with Him. 13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, and he did eat the fruitage of the field; and He made him to suck honey out of the crag, and oil out of the flinty rock;

19. #8, #11, #12, #15 All I can say is, wow...
After reading these responses, I am seriously reconsidering ever telling a joke again. What the heck is the matter with you idiots? My previous comment was an example of what is called sarcasem, look that word up you may learn something. Please refer to the last line of my response, where I comment on the absurdity of my comment. I did that with the clear intention not to misguide some simple minded fool that may believe I think that way. Get a sense of humor, better yet go back and finish grade school.
Etoile ,   Montreal, CAN   (03.21.08)
20. #19 You picked the wrong subject..
to be sarcastic.
Connie ,   Virginia   (03.22.08)
21. Israel a Jewish state.
Just as Ire-Land is the Land of the Irish and Eng-Land the Land of the English and Fin-Land the Land of the Finns, the name Eretz Yisrael means the Land of the Israelis. The identity of the land is the same as the identity of the nation residing in it; therefore, the Nation of Israel, the Jews, cannot be an occupier of the Land of Israel. The Crusaders named the land “Kingdom of Jerusalem.” The Arab occupation did not have a name for the land; it was referred to merely as “southern Syria.” For 1,300 years, the land had no identity in the absence of the Biblical Jewish nation that identified itself with it. No one claimed ownership but our nation. This is the entire story. The Arabs demand that Ehud Olmert transfer the land free and clear of Jews. As long as there are Jews in Judea, that place cannot not be called by its false name – “Palestine.” The only thing that stops the cadre of traitors from transferring our land to the enemy, already at our gates, is their inability to uproot the settlements. Those communities halt the wheels of destruction as explained at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/01/battle-for-land-of-israels-identity.html

22. Can I use this coin in a vending machine?
Mark ,   Kibbutz Elrom   (03.23.08)
23. Second Temple Coin
The Remark You Wrote The Second Temple Coin. The Second Temple & The Coin Are Real . But You Saying That When Jesus Was Living ! My Dear Frend Did You Know That There No Proof That Jesus Existed At All. By Making That Kind Of Statement You Saying That He Existed. Only The New Testement Talked About Jesus. He Is Not Found Anywere. In Tanach, Or Talmud Or Even In The Dead Sea Scrools. G-D Bless.
