'Out' publishes guide to picking up Israeli men    Itamar Eichner
1. i thought you just talk with a lisp and wear tight shirts
and swing your hips when you walk.
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.22.08)
2. I love those gay pick up lines. Good article
I remember that in Israel we used to go to "special" places to meet like minded people. Not any more. Israel has progressed to the point of excepting gays and lesbians and transvestiles. That's great! Now every homosexual male can be proud of himself. Thanks Jesus, we live in wonderful times! Hopefully Israel will be willing to tolerate Catholic Jews and Messianics soon. Salam, shalom, peace.
Yaakov Sullivan ,   NYC   (03.22.08)
3. # 1 mike oh mike oh mike
here we go again, sorry to disapoint you but im wearing shorts and a tshirt today, and some women in a resturant tried to start with my (yuk) what were you expecting a thong and a bit of spandex here and there. Stereo typing is so last season darling!
Simon ,   TA Israel   (03.22.08)
4. Oi!
Pure EVIL: Israel, the gayish state. Not in my name!
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Ephraim   (03.22.08)
5. STOP WITH GAY ARTICLES!
Ynet is supposed to be a professional Israeli website and this is not news! simply childish rubbish that shames the country!!
Elliot ,   Israel   (03.22.08)
6. i remember when i was
allowed to work and live in israil, men used to pick me up every night believe me and send me back to gaza. mind you it was the shabk, the police, and all the other security men that used to pick me up but still i felt very privileged and special.
rashid ,   palistinian   (03.22.08)
7. Mezuzah?
I'm gay and Jewish and if anybody said "Is that a mezuzah in your pocket?" I'd think he was a moron. Surely Out is joking?
Kobi ,   Lansing, Michigan   (03.22.08)
8. #1 mike. No tight shirt for me. Tight bikini instead...
Old, old thinking, Mike. Today homosexual men are productive members. They work, play and communicate proudly and even hold public offices. In fact we are probably in a position to have our first gay president. That's right I truly believe we are ready. As you know the Pope Julius the Fifth was a first openly gay Pope..so I believe it is possible.
Yaakov Sullivan ,   NYC   (03.22.08)
9. Simon, even in NY people are not OK when we kiss in public
Unfortunately this is the reality. My husband said he doesn't care, but I like to hold hands and huggings..
Yaakov Sullivan ,   NYC   (03.22.08)
10. Ynetnews is simply begging for provocations.
I fail to understand, why such respected news site would stoop so low as to publish, time and time again - such provocative and inflammatory articles, given the fact that so many of the readers here are clearly irated by this. This is not "Out" magazine - what is acceptable with "Out", or the Hebrew ynet site, is not always acceptable with the English one. There are many religious readers here who are more sensitive, and the editors should read the talkbacks to know better than publish material, that these readers understandably view as offensive abomination.
Tahl ,   Israel   (03.22.08)
11. 'Out' is the correct word
Stay OUT of Israel!!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (03.22.08)
12. Tahl, Homosexuality is NOT a provocation it is INSPIRATION.
Homosexuals are the most spiritual people I know. we pray regularly, go to churches on Sundays, worship Jesus, elect presidents and also actors, peace activists and homemakers.. As a Jewish Catholic I can say there is no provocation at all, only unconditional love for the fellow man.Shalom and salaam.
Yaakov Sullivan ,   NYC   (03.22.08)
13. #10: To prove that you can be as backward as the Islamists
Global Citizen ,   Israel & USA   (03.22.08)
14. this sits is going downhill if this is the stories we get
When we start getting articles on here about how to pick up gays in Tel Aviv then this site really is going downhill. Gays work out their own chat up lines same way straights do they dont come on here to learn how to do it. If they are really insterested in this sort of thing then let them buy one of the glossy magazines which talk all about sex not here please.
zionist forever   (03.22.08)
15. Pathetic and woefully sad
No wonder the Muslim world views us Americans and our brothers the Israelis as "the big and little Satans." I hate to break it to you, but "celebrating" open perversion is a disgrace. Your "progressive society" is really just a once-moral society that has degenerated into moral decay. God have mercy on you, Israel. You are the apple of His eye and yet you tolerate this.
Hans ,   USA   (03.22.08)
16. Good for Ynet, Out and Israel
Ynet knows it has readers when it publishes this and all the whiney holier than thou religious right start reigning down fire and brimstone as though there was a Jewsh hell. This gets their advertising dollars up. Good for OUT for publishing about Israel as a hot spot for Gay tourists. It is a fantastic city for any tourist. At least OUT has now helped our ecconomy by pushing people with spending power to come and visit. I doubt if Chaya in Bat Yam had a store she would reject homosexuals spending money there. If she does, she can just polst a sign "gay people not welcome here." I promise you most gays will avoid the place as though it were plague ridden some more activist members might protest it. Either way she doesn't have to suffer their money that way. As for OUT's pickup lines: they have got to be a joke. But if they're written in transliteration and someone uses it around me I think when I stop laughing I'll invite whomever it is for a coffee regardless of their gender.
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (03.22.08)
17. Mike #1 Either your an ignorant bigot or...
perhaps that Is that how you get picked up? Either way you're tiresome
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (03.22.08)
18. So I am going to be very busy in Israel
I really thought that with very few gays around, there was no point in setting up an oral cancer screening centre. Now with the worlwide deliberate promotion of T-A as the gay capital, it looks like I 'll take on Olmert offer and make aliyah. I like the gays, both males and females. They all develop at one stage or another oral cancer which of course keeps me very busy.
Dr. Jerome ,   Melbourne   (03.22.08)
19. Gays are sick & this article is crap!
Y Net cut out this garbage, it's not news.
Wise Saba ,   Western Negev   (03.22.08)
20. Can We Have A Heterosexual Parade in Tel Aviv?
Why is your sexuality so important you? Is it all you think about? Is there where your brains are?
Akiva ,   Maaleh Adumim   (03.22.08)
21. #12, #13
#13 "Global Citizen" - There is nothing "backward" in wanting to keep my favorite news site respectable. While I am not a homophobe myself, and respect gays as equal human beings - I see nothing respectable or enlightened, in shoving blatant, disgusting gay sexual innuendos to the readers here, a great majority of whom are religious or conservative, and may not be as amused. If that's your definition of "backward", then I'm a proud backward person, in the good company of the majority of the "global citizens", including most Americans. #12 Yaacov Sullivan - if homosexuality is so full of spirituality, then why not celebrate this spirituality with stories about these wonderful, spirited gay churchgoers, actors, peace activists and homemakers? Why do gays instead focus only on graphically conveying their sexuality to the outside world, as apparent in this piece? If you are so keen on legitimizing the image of gay people, then the appropriate step for you to take is criticize this silly, disgusting news piece.
Tahl ,   Israel   (03.22.08)
22. Israel a "Conservative" Country?
As a native New Yorker, I used to think I was pretty jaded, but I saw things in Israel twenty years ago (and on subsequent visits afterwards) . I used to buy my cigarettes at a newsstand in a quiet, middle-class suburb of Haifa. The only unusual thing about that particular newsstand is that they displayed magazines out in the open with covers that were so pornographic I probably couldn't describe them here without being censored. Not only that, but the kids who hung around there waiting for the bus to go to school didn't even bat an eye, so I can only assume they'd seen it all before. In fact, I'm still not sure if I was more surprised by the public display of those pornographic magazines...or the lack of any reaction on the part of those kids.

23. articles
like this make me embarrased to be israelie under .05 a percent of israel is gay - however to adverti and publish this horrible BS is offensive and gross = this is not san fransisco
moti ,   rbs - israel   (03.22.08)
24. 17 - no, just afraid of gays
i don't wanna get aids.
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.22.08)
25. oh my god
and this is a Jewish state.. I wonder what the Tora tells us about homosexuals. I only can admit: anomaly of nature!!! Stop this "we are all equal" crap. I am getting sick of it! I am so happy not to see any gays here in Germany. Iran has the right approach on this issue, it's the only aspect of Iran's policy I support. yeah yeah apparently Ynet will censor my talkback or even won't publish it. That is what we call freedom of speech and expression. If you are not with us you are against us and have no right to say your opinion...
Igor ,   Munich, Germany   (03.22.08)
26. to #24 mike
then use protection, last i heard aids, globally is by far a desease of straight people, and if you are concerned about aids among gays, advocate among the friendly, kind, intelligent beautiful gay community of israel to use protection. now, if you are straight, and use protection, then remind me again, why are you afriad of gays? for the same reasons others are afraid of jews...because they arent like you.
mayadabee   (03.23.08)
27. ynet obssession with gays
does YNET have an agenda ?me think the answer is YES .I ACCEPT GAYS AS MUCH I AS I ACCEPT HETEROS but i am against promoting this "in your face "lifestyle.SHAME ON YOU YNET.
jojo ,   victoria   (03.23.08)
28. World Cities
If Tel Aviv is to be classed as a "World City" then gay travel coverage comes with the territory--and all the rants about it being a sin are better placed in the cities of our neighbors--- you can't be forced to be gay....
guy ,   los angeles   (03.23.08)
29. If this keeps up, it's the end of Israel
Homosexuality is unnatural, and if Israel thinks it's becoming sophisticated by emulating European or American freaks, it needs to redirect its thinking. It's really sad where Ynet thinks Israel should be headed.
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (03.23.08)
30. #25 - not many gays in Germany???
You idiot. Iran's policy toward us was exactly like Hitler's.
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (03.23.08)
