I think it would help if the Arab world became more secular. That way there wouldn't be such a burning desire for all these weapons that can only be used for one purpose-to attack Israel. Most secular Arabs would rather worry about more pressing domestic issues, like creating jobs and establishing universal health care for all. For most Arabs it's like "Forget about Israel and the West! We have problems here at home!"

if the majority of the attack is to come from syria and lebanon, that's pretty good news. once the idf is allowed to fight without having its hands tied, any war on the northern front can be finished quickly and decisively - remember that "empty warehouse" in syria last september? fatah and hamas might join in, but they haven't in the past, probably because if they stand up and fight, they lose their military and propaganda advantage. but the real question is iran's motivation. they have nothing to gain and very limited capability to hit israel directly (which is why they need hezbollah and syria) and they can expect a nasty response if they try. however, if they were determined to provoke a war, in the name of "mahdaviat", all the talk of retaliation won't stop them, because they WANT to lose. so the best solution is still regime change in tehran, which would change all the rules of the game.

If attacked again by Hezbollah, Syria or indeed Iran the attacks will not stop with a couple of rockets. They will be intense attacks on Iraeli cities towns and villages. The answer from Israel to that is clear. It is an overwhelming response by Israel in kind - not thousands not tens of thousands but hundreds of thousands of Israeli missiles aimed back in an unceasing barrage of total saturation bombing of enemy cities, of towns and of military installations. Allthough probably exadurated as inteligence reports usualy are it does show us that there are many flaws in political thinking. 1) Surrendering the Golan to Syria. Its alot more valuable to us than any Syrian peace deal .. peace deals are only as valid as one side wants to uphold it and if at some point Syria decides to break its part of the deal as it will have the Golan it will be in a better position to take the war to us not the other way around. 2) Proof that we should be looking to other solutions to the palestian problem even if we accepted 2 states tommorow and we handed over alot of territory the palestians have no single peace loving central leadership it would be for individual groups to decide on weather or not they want to take advantage of the situation. We need strategic depth Sderopt & Ashkelon are proof we have no depth other solutions muct be found that allow us to keep that depth. 3) We must stop looking for nice little tempory hudnas and wipe out terrorisrts say gloves off time and see the palestian front as a real war just like it would be if we were fighting Iran or Syria and we must destroy the terrorist enemy. 4) Proof the world needs to stop playing games with Iran and pretending that diplomacy will solve all our problems with the Iranian neuclear issue it wont right now the only practical solution would be American air strikes. The US has enough firepower in the Gulf to destroy half the Iranian army within days. Bomb the ships while they are in port, try find and destroy any ships allready at sea and bomb the airfields destroy most the Iranian airforce. Bomb the millitary bases & known missle storage sites the US has the most modern spy sattalites in the world and I am sure they would be given access to Israeli sattalite imagry. Bomb all possible chemical weapon deve;opment sites along with their neuclear sites. A weak Iran will be an Iran with no will to attack Israel. 5) Time for the Israeli government to make good of its promises made after Lebanon and start to strenghen all public bomb shelters not just the few that have been done so far. possibly even give them the protection needed so they will stop chemial attacks not just conventional bombs. Also lets set some new planning laws on new builds in apartments providing special renforced rooms not just tell us to go find a room and sit there lets have a proper strong room in the apartment itself. That is somethng that could be done without any expense to the government. Our good defense minister Barak has refused to return the gas mask kits to those people who give back their kits to be refurbished. Baraks excuse was he didnt want to give the wrong idea to Syria and make Assad think Israel wants to invade Syria which is why we are protecting the civilians. Give us back our kits the only reason we sent them back was to be refurbished everybody thought they would get them back after lets not wait for the next war before Barak decides its ok to give the wrong idea to Syria. 6) Speed up developement of arrow & other missle protection systems and give the millitary the money they need obviously not an unlimited budget but stop making cuts and relying on US millitary aid to finance millitary spending the arabs and Iran are spending billions on modern weapons and if we are not carefull we will be taken off gaurd. 7) Never give into leftist anti war, American or arab calls for Israel to abandon its neuclear program right now they are the only thing standing between Israels defense and an arab / Iran coalition with the aim to wipe Israel out. Peace deals and promises can be broken but as long as you have the weapons needed to keep the enemy to scared to start a war instead of relying on peace deals to stop wars then you have the advantage

The arab dictaitors love to have millitary parades show the public all the nice toys the millitary has and how strong the safe is while I am around. Israel doesnt have those parades maybe they could have advantages. Maybe onece every couple of years we can have a parade down the streets of Tel Aviv or Jerusalem give the enemy a little hint of what we can hit them with if put in the position. tanks, Jerico 3 balistic missles and arrow missle defense interceptors on the back of trailers.
