2. Letter from Pollard's attorney:
An article that was printed by Manhigut Yehudit (Jewish Leadership) a few days ago:
http://jewishisrael.org/news/updates.htm
(scroll to the bottom article).
In it Moshe Feiglin shows how Pollard's attorney, Nitzana Darshan Leitner, is challenging the government on its false claims of financial support for Pollard's family.
Anyone who cares for Jonathan's long overdue release should understand that only Feiglin is sincere in his desire to make concrete efforts to bring this about. Now all the voters have to do is push Feiglin to the top of the government.

3. time has come
it's more than acceptable. He should have gone to prison for symbol, but never remain there for a while.
It's already too late, but the israeli government must do something for this guy. I personnally think we must do more than what was done for Elhanan Tanenbaum. And if we freed him from Hezbollah, we can free Pollard from US's jails. Are they our friends? It must be easier than from Hezbollah and our friend Nassrallah...

4. Israeli Government afraid of inquiry if Pollard is released
Esther Pollard, wife of jailed Pentagon worker Jonathan Pollard, charged Wednesday afternoon that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is afraid of an investigation into the government's role concerning freeing her husband because of the possible discovery of corruption. She said on Voice of Israel government radio that it is a "big lie" that the government is taking care of the financial needs of her and her husband.
Esther Pollard said her husband wrote the Prime Minister a letter asking, "Where is the money?" She added that the government "is not afraid of her husband [but is] afraid of an inquiry that will reveal corruption."

What has being Jewish got to do with betraying one's country?
Pollard is (and was) a US citizen entrusted with secret information, that he chose to divulge. He betrayed the trust that was placed in him. Being a Jew does not absolve one of his/her duties & obligations to their country and to the office they hold. Are you suggesting that in the name of Zionism, Jews in the US (and elsewhere) ignore their duties and obligations as citizens of their respective countries?

8. Hear, Hear! Talula! To #6: What if the position was reversed
Would you expect Israel to release an American spy who carried out espionage against us? I suppose you would ask Israel to release Nahum Manbar who spied on Israel for Iran? He should have been shot for treason!
You does the crime you does the time! The matter is an American one and cannot be decided by Israel. Would you like Israel to interfere with the US Justice System? I think not.

9. This Man Is a Traitor
and his treachery lends credence to the concept that Jews are not loyal to the country of their residence unless that country happens to be Israel.
I predict this man will remain in a US prison for quite some time because he has become a liability to Israeli foreign policy objectives . I hope that Jonathan Pollard has plenty of time reflect on the rich irony of his situation. He sold out the country of his birth (the USA) for a country (Israel) that sold him out the minute he got caught. LOL!

10. EX-CIA Director James Woolsey say..
Asked his opinion on Jonathan Pollard, Woolsey said that though he has favored a significant punishment for Pollard in the past, "now that he has served [over] 20 years in prison, my view is that 20 years is enough. I also think that the close relationship between the US and Israel is also of some consideration, and at this point I think he's served long enough. I won't go any further than that."
Pollard received a harsher sentence then any other spy in modern american history. Above this, he spied fo an ally and not an enemy state, with info that should have been shared, per signed agreements, and that caused Israel to bom the Iraqi Nuclear reactor in the early 80s. Its obvious that America, at this time, is very greatful of that event. The trial itself was corrupted and the file on Jonathan's alleged crimes have always remained a secret closed file that even Jonathan's attornies were never allowed to see. How can you defend someone, when you can't have access to his file of charges? Further Israel has released an unimaginable amount of PA prisoners on the explicit request of the US government and has made endless "painful concessions" by US request.
To say simple phrases like "if you can't do the time, blah blah blah", is to be very simple minded.
And considering that Jonathan's motives were purely for the sake of the security of the only Jewish State, every Jew in the world should automatically feel sympathy towards his plight, regardless of his/her citizenship. Even the non-Jewish EX-CIA director understands this.

11. With friends like America, who needs enemies???
The Pollard case has proved, if anything that the US is NOT a friend of Israel.
The US should have informed their ally, Israel of the Iranian plans to destroy Israel. They didn't - Jon Pollard did - and was jailed.
He's been rotting in jail for 23 years. BUT spies for so-called "hostile" countries, like China and Russia only get 2 years jail time.
From the discrepancy, you can see who America genuinely considers their allies... and Israel isn't there.
Pollard wouldn't have been left to rot in jail if it weren't for Shimon Peres (financially backed by the Arabs) who stitched him up then, and has done so ever since.
If Olmert claims Pollard has been given money, then look no further than Olmerts Swiss bank account...

12. #3 Yoel - Pollard Was a Traitor First and a Spy Secondly
Pollard must and will remain in jail for the rest of his miserable life because he is a traitor to the United States of America, and guilty of a crime that once carried the penalty of death and only now carries the penalty of life in prison. To release Pollard would be to diminish the penalty for treason even further, and that simply cannot be allowed.
Had he not been an American citizen, he might some day be released, but as a traitor he must rot in jail for life, and even that is too good for him in my opinion.

13. To #12, Pollard wasn't prosecuted or convicted for treason
but for espionage. I am sorry, Mr. Know-It-All, but you got everything back to front, inside out, and upside down. You see, in the United States, people are prosecuted for treason when they actually breach the laws for treason, not arbitralily for some personal reason like those accused by Henry VIII, Mr. Know It All. An example of someone who was convicted in the United States of treason is John Walker Lindh, AKA Sulayman al-Faris, who fought for the Taliban against America, Mr. Know It All. An example of an American indicted for treason is Adam Yahiye Gadahn, a spokesman for al Qaeda, Mr. Know It All.
I am glad I could be of some assistance, and I hope that clears things up for you a little, Mr. Know It all.

14. To World Citizen, #9
"his treachery lends credence to the concept that Jews are not loyal to the country of their residence unless that country happens to be Israel."
And what country are you loyal to, Mr. World Citizen? As I recall, there is no country in the world called "The World" of which you can become a Citizen, especially since you chose to capitalize both. And you wouldn't want to be accused of hypocrisy, now would you?

15. #13 - Regardless of your opinion, Pollard is a Traitor
I never said the traitor pollard was convicted of treason Jake, I just stated the fact that he is a traitor, which by definition is; "One who betrays one's country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason." to the United States of America,
Pollard both betrayed his duty as a citizen of the United States and as well as the oath of enlistment that he swore to uphold when he Joined the United States Navy which is as follows;
"I, (name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. (So help me God.)"
So Jake, as you can see the term traitor describes the scumbag very well.
So I hope now you have a better understand of what the term traitor means and why most certainly Pollard is one.

16. A failing PM and a failed president, not a formula for doing
the right thing.
When Bush visited Israel following Annapolis Mr. Olmert was approached by MK Yishai of Shas with a request to deliver a letter of concern regarding Jonathon Pollard. In the letter the request was made to release the Israeli agent, in exchange for which Shas would reverse itself and support the Annapolis. Mr. Bush had to know that his peace initiative was in the balance, that freeing Pollard would have provided much-needed support for a faltering Annapolis. All he would have had to do was do the right thing. Of course, since Annapolis was merely intended to provide the appearance of an initiative (everyone knew there was not the shred of possibility that a lame-duck, unpopular president could deliver in his last year what he had ignored in the previous seven!) Bush needed no assistance from Shas since Annapolis was never serious anyway. But instructive in assessing Mr. Olmert’s commitment to Pollard is the fact that, at the banquet held in honor of the American president, he refused either to allow Yishai to deliver the letter to Bush, nor to accept it and deliver it himself. It should be obvious to all that the Pollards criticisms of the current prime minister are credible, that although several prior prime ministers have at least made some effort towards his release, that Mr. Olmert will go down as one who has not.

17. Mordechai Vanunu
What about the amount of time
M.Vanunu spend in prison.
He was kidnapped from Italy.
I believe he spent 18 years in
a Israeli prison and is not
allowed to leave the Israel.
What was his crime..... telling
the world what everyone already
knew.
I am sure that all the people
yelling for the release of
Pollard were also yelling for
the release of M.Vanunu.
I doubt it.
