1. Hang on a second...
Talula ,   Israel   (04.03.08)
Why do the media insist on writing these stories? Firstly, these are all scenarios and secondly, it's being reported, in a roundabout way, that both Syria and Israel want to hold some sort of peace talks - Which is it to be? I'm getting sick and tired of reading these stories. No-one wants another war, not us and not them. The loss of life will be too great to comprehend if another work broke out. So, instead of printing this crap day in and day out and forcing us to become a pill popping nation of anti-depressants, find something nice and positive to write about and put a smile on our faces.....for a change!!!
2. Destroy the dictatorship of El-Assad
Dora Ziv ,   Haifa   (04.03.08)
We should not miss a second occasion to destroy the terror state Syria. That way we hurt also the fanatic Islamic state of Iran. As a result of a harsh military defeat of Syria the dictatorship of El-Assad may collapse. This might open a new and positive era of relations between Israel and Syria. The facts about Syria nowadays are described at : http://tinyurl.com/2em5r5
3. Respecting Jews in Yesha gains victory
A Jew left & right ,   Shilo ISRAEL   (04.03.08)
There is never a right time for Jews to try & evict other Jews from any part of Israel. We need a motivated people to gain victory with G-ds' help. Facing terrorism & hostile armies has never been the problem. Internal struggles to placate our enemies who will never be satisfied with anything less than our total defeat, is not the answer. We need a united Jewish front that includes all Jews regardless of their level of observance or political fantasies. There is only one place for a united Jewish people to stand against our enemies & that is here. Jews in exile come home, being beside us will be more effective than being behind us, with an ocean between. To our 'dedicated' enemies - go to hell. G-d Bless Israel
4. Stop the thinking and move to the acting!!!
Moshe   (04.03.08)
5. Time for a replay of 1967.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (04.03.08)
Eventually, we will have to confront Iran militarily. This obviously means dealing with Syria, Hezbollah, & Hamas. A crushing military defeat will change the nature of Middle-East politics for decades to come, as it did after 1967. It is far better to take preemptive action rather than wait - the threats against us are only growing. Essentially, it is cheaper from all points of view to initiate a first strike rather than wait for an attack against us. We made this mistake in 1973. When Iran eventually attains a nuclear capability, our security situation will be untenable. Under an Iranian nuclear umbrella, even if they don't nuke us first, our enemies will be able to undertake a terrorist war of attrition, while we will have a limited range of options due to fear of Iranian nuclear retaliation. Given the ideology of the madmen in Teheran, nothing will act as a deterrent against an eventual attack upon us. This ideology is shared by Hezbollah & Hamas. The notion that Syria can be removed from this Iranian axis by negotiations is unrealistic. Neglecting threats will not make them go away.
6. reply to 2
Jude   (04.03.08)
Dora, don't think its a good idea at all, we would just end up with another state in chaos like Iraq with Iran taking the role of superpower in the area. Sometimes that's just how it is.
7. to Talula; let's prepare for the worst so we can begin to
me ,   here   (04.03.08)
hope for the best.
8. The targets: Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran!
The DOc ,   Haifa, Israel   (04.03.08)
Syria is a puppet that will do nothing out of fear that it will lose AGAIN it's assets in the North and on top of that, the dictatorship does not want to lose its power and puppy fields. It is clear that Syria supports terror, but it will not do so if it has nobody to support! Without Hezbollah and Hamas, Syria will stand alone, but without even knowing, it will also save itself from the Persian grip. Syria's best bet is a peace with Israel. Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran however are legitimate targets: they have been attacking us directly for years. It is time to free Lebanon from the cancer which will guarantee its destruction and limitless suffering in a brutal conflic where Israel will AGAIN destroy Lebanese infrastructure while Hezbollah will sacrifice countless human shielts in their cowardice. Once Hezbollah is out of Lebanon, Iran will lose its grip on Lebanon and Syria and the only direct front with Israel. So the target is Hezbollah and Hamas and the sooner the better. Next on the menu: Iran. Once Hezbollah and Hamas destruction is completed, Israel will be free to cleanse Teheran of it's Jewish Nuclear Holocaust fantasies.
9. #1 - Wrong: Hezbollah WANTS another war...
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (04.03.08)
... war is their raison d'etre! If there is no war then how can they justify raping Lebanon? How can their leaders justify the big terror money they get fromTeheran? No Talula - WE don;t want wars but THEY DO! And the more the better. That's why we have to be decisive and merciless in our war against them. Only Hezbollah's and Hamas' total and irrevocable destruction can bring a ray of hope for peace to the ME. It is clear that war will erupt. The queston is only "when", not "if". My only hope is that this time IDF will finish the job and cleanse Lebanon (and the ME) of the Hezbollah plague.
10. 'help Israel rebuild its deterrence'
Marcel ,   Florida   (04.03.08)
We have a veiled admission that Israel has lost something of value. You have only emboldened your ememies by your insane moves for peace. Surrendering your land has only raised the threat of war. Israel's Neville Chamberlain approach to peace has led to catastrophe. Exuding weakness by retreat and surrender and rewarding the Palestinians for bad behavior have all had the oposite effect. The Road Map to peace has always led to war. Prepare for war.
11. #9
Talula ,   Israel   (04.03.08)
Hi Doc, Not us NOR the entire world put together will wipe out terrorists, it cannot be done. Therefore, we need to find another way to at least make them NOT want to destroy everything that isn't stamped with Islam.
12. Doc
Zehev ,   Israel   (04.03.08)
Unfortunately, Doc is absolutely right. Hamas and Hisballah are the cutting edge of this coalition, and will have to be neutralized. Syria should, and I think will be kept outside this fight, at least for survival instinct. Then we have Iran, but that's another talk...
13. Re; #2 Meet the new boss, same as the old boss." by The Who
Bartley Kulp ,   Safed, Israel   (04.03.08)
Besides the fact that we might sustain mass casualties on the home front from such a proposition. There will probably be unintended consequences. When we kicked the PLO out of Lebanon back in '82, we got the Hezbollah in its stead. Now we wish we were still dealing with the PLO in Lebanon. If Assad's regime falls you can be sure that whoever takes over will not be some social democratic movement. The Muslim brotherhood is a very likely candidate although the place would probably turn in to some sort of Afghanistan complete with a civil war of competing factions. They would all have one thing in common and that is they would use our country for target practice. There would be know centralized authority with responsibility that we could have any spoken or unspoken understandings with. Assad is probably our safest bet. Yeah, that's right. Life sucks!
14. just take 'em all out
mb   (04.03.08)
And let them clean up the mess. Just like in '67. They'll always think we're aggressors any way. Anything less is sign of weakness. Besides, they say they prize martyrdom. We should provide.
15. We need to get rid of olmert, livni and barak now!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (04.03.08)
They are a danger to Israel. We need to use the neutron bomb on lebanaon. Let the government ask for volunteers to hit gaza with artillery and rockets. Let the terrorists pay with a heavy cilvilian toll. It is time to let the terrorists know that they will suffer greatly for trying to destroy Israel. We have the labor/kadima/gil/shas gang doing that.
16. So Hez is getting their heavy rocket systems ready
Cynic ,   USA   (04.03.08)
Must be with the blessing of the UN and the Lebanese government. No crying this time when Lebanon is turned into rubble.
17. #1: Talula : I couldn't agree more
an Arab ,   USA   (04.07.08)
thank you, I think its all propaganda to benefit the drug industry. They keep printing this crap like you said, keeping fear in our heart all the time (both sides).
